The Last Of Defenses That Protect The Empress Have Fallen

The Grim stand before the Empress of the Mantid, ready to destroy her.  The last of her lieutenants have fallen, their chittering cries of defeat as the last gasps of breath escaped their lungs attempting to warn her of our assault.

The massive insect known as Garalon stood before us upon entering the Dread Terrace.  The creature is by no means an intelligent one, but what it lacks in brains it more than makes up for in tenacity and aggression.

It may be time to reconsider stepping on bugs. Don’t make fun of this hulking behemoth’s tiny wings; that’ll just make him angry.

Next  to lay in defeat was the Wind Lord Mer’jarak.  His aerial forces came at the Grim from all sides, but were no match for our skill.

Wind Lord Mel’jarak commands the mantid’s numerous aerial forces. Although he exudes arrogance, the cunning insectoid is fiercely protective of his soldiers and enjoys fighting at their side. Mel’jarak believes the mantid are superior to all other races, convinced that his kind cannot be defeated.

As the Grim made their way through the Royal Approach we faced the Mantid Queen’s alchemist, Amber-Shaper Un’Sok.  Alchemy is a deadly and dangerous practice, even more so when the practitioner is mad with corruption.  He turned our very own into horrid amber beasts, but we pushed on. Putting down those that required it, and steadfastly moving to our objective.

Eager to please his empress, Un’sok has produced several innovative concoctions. Yet this brilliant young alchemist’s proximity to the mantid queen has allowed the sha‘s negative energies to take root in his mind. Now, Un’sok’s overwhelming fear of failure drives him to create increasingly deadlier weapons.

The Empress of the Mantid shall fall very soon, as we move onward through the most powerful foes Pandaria has to present.  None shall stand before the Grim’s might, and we only go stronger.

The Battle Wages On

The Grim forces march on.  The Mogu’shan vaults are purged, and we step bravely into the very Heart of Fear itself.  The Mantid Queen and her forces will fall before our onslaught.

The Will of the Emperor defeated, and the riches of the Vaults are the Grim’s for the taking:

The core chamber of the vaults is protected by stone soldiers who have been motionless for centuries. They are row upon row of warriors, statues armed for a battle that never began. What treasures do they guard? And what is their tie to the titanic power buried with them here in the shadows?

With the Vaults behind us, our armies stormed the Heart of Fear.  We could hear the rallying cry of the Imperial Vizier, Zor’lok, calling on their troops to continue to come at us, wave upon wave.  They perished by the dozen at our hands.

Zor’lok shrieks his proclamations so they’re heard throughout the sprawling mantid palace. He is the Voice of the Empress, and his words alone inspire the insectoid race’s warriors to give their lives without question. Unwaveringly loyal, Zor’lok will stop at nothing to defend his beloved matriarch, regardless of the corruption within her.

We pressed on into the recesses of the Mantid seat of power, and while the calls of the Imperial Vizier had been quieted, the minions of the Mantid Queen continued to press us.  Our next foe, Blade Lord Ta’yak, was confident in his ability to prevent us from reaching his Queen.  We tore through his trainees, and then faced this so call master of blades.  The Grim’s weapons proved to be the stronger, and the Blade Lord lie dead at our feet.

Ta’yak is known for his patience and intelligence. In battle, he is a master at discovering his opponent’s weaknesses and awaiting the perfect opportunity to strike. Ta’yak’s skill with a blade is unmatched, and he cherishes imparting his martial knowledge on young mantid warriors.

We took this time to rest our weary bodies and minds, and will best the remainder of the Queens forces, and the Queen herself, soon enough.

The Grim Strike En Masse at the Mogu’shan Vault

For the first time in a long while, the surgical strike teams our foes fear have been rallied together to assault our foes in an overwhelming show of force.  All who stand in the path of The Grim shall meet annihilation.

The first to fall were the Stone Guard:

The first line of defense against those daring to enter the vaults is a stolid row of enchanted, bestial statues. Hard as granite and ceaseless in their vigil, the sentries of the Stone Guard present an insurmountable wall of flame, fangs, and claws.

Next, the Mogu known as Feng the Accursed lay bleeding beneath our boots:

Long ago, Feng Shri was the Mogu’shan Vaults’ caretaker, tasked with preserving the treasures kept within these shadowy halls. After years of faithful service, he was caught stealing from the shelves, although some say he was framed by a jealous underling and the mogu ruler punished him with a fatal curse. The doomed spirit of Feng Shri has wandered the vaults ever since, communing with the shades of past mogu heroes and warlords.

The Zandalar Trolls assault force thought they could stand before our might.  They and their leader, Gara’jal the Spiritbinder soon learned otherwise:

Leader of the Zandalar trolls’ assault on the vaults, Gara’jal is determined to crack open this trove of ancient mystery and bring back whatever arcane power and knowledge he can find. Gifted with dark talents and surrounded by a loyal cadre of Zandalar mystics, he has broken through the outer walls and will not rest until the vaults belong to him.

The restless mogu spirits that wander the halls lost in their ancient memories sought to add The Grim to their conquests.  These Spirit Kings were laid to rest:

Ancient records tell of these legendary rulers, powerful mogu who carved an empire from the very rock of Pandaria. Their names still cause the land to tremble: Zian of the Endless Shadow, Meng the Demented, Qiang the Merciless, and Subetai the Swift. Some say their spirits lurk in the vaults, lost in ghostly memories of battle and glory.

The final obstacle in our path before we reach the heart of the Mogu’shan Vault was a powerful titan device that took the shape of a Celestial Dragon, Elegon.  A worthy opponent, but unable to withstand our might:

Dedicated to the advancement of their empire, the mogu salvaged and repurposed titan technology to generate untold power in the depths of this ancient complex. Why these energies have been focused into the cold will of a celestial dragon is a mystery that lies at the very heart of the vaults.

Our army now prepares to face the final chambers of the Mogu’shan Vault.  The Will of the Emperors shall fall next to our might, and then we take our forces to the Mantid and their Queen.

The first of many Challenges!

Grim!

The first blow of many has been struck. A few nights ago a team of highly skilled and diverse Grim broke the siege of  the Setting Sun Gate. The attackers at first proved tenacious but were no match for our vanguard Alakhai , the killers Mohan, Anaie, Feylia , and myself Bartalomu  as a mender. This is the first of many victories and soon we will earn the right to wear the works of Pandaria’s greatest armorers!

The Strength of the Grim

The dangers in this new world grow ever greater. Besieged on all sides by the creatures that prey on our fears and our doubts, the Grim have chosen to unite in our efforts to see our enemies defeated. We are a tribe of many, and to each other we will give of ourselves, that despair, anger, and our hatred for our enemies shall not cloud our better judgment.

It is my great honor to lead the hunt. Let the battle-cry sound – and let our enemies know our full strength.

– Yemana Two-Spirits, Guardian of the Grim

Drunken Oxes Continue Their Assault

The Grim’s champions of Niuzao push further into the Heart of Fear.

Blade Lord Ta’yak

Garalon has also been vanquished, yet an etching has yet to be obtained.

The hunt in the Mogu’shan Vaults continues.  Even though all foes therein have been defeated, the Oxes returned to try their hand as true heroes of the realm.  Feng the Accursed was the first to fall to their heroic efforts.

The Oxes have also become known as the first in the realm to undertake several particular feats during their assaults.

Twin Peaks and Nagrand

The Wildhammer dwarves of the Twin Peaks could not slow the Blight Serpents as Bartalomu rode the druid Canai to glory. Many Alliance faces were smashed by their hooves as the blue flag was carried to victory!

On the 12th day of December, The Grim gathered in Nagrand at the Ring of Trials to ask the aid of the ancestral spirits in their Arena battles. It was a night of hard fighting and glorious combat, with a successful defense of Halaa against the foul Alliance. However, not all were visited by friendly spirits, and the death knight Thulgrim has found he has much to atone for …

Black Market Brawl

The Veiled Stair became a battlefield as The Grim secured the Black Market for Adherent Bartalomu to close an expensive deal with Madam Goya. All Alliance and their filthy ilk were denied access to its halls by a stout few Blight Serpents deep into the night, until the monk finally exited with a Blood-Soaked Invitation. It is unclear if the stains belong to Brawlers or to the broken ranks of lesser races.

Khorvis Bloodstar, Battle Master of The Grim

I have returned from the frozen depths of Northrend to lead the host of the Mandate against the vile Alliance. The war has shifted to the new land of Pandaria, and it is our sworn duty to break the so-called “Operation Shieldwall” or whatever else the pink skins may hide behind. Any of honor in The Grim must take up the standard of the Blight Serpent and join the fight, be it upon the battlefield or to hone their skills in the goblin Arena. Cowards will not be suffered!

Peace Through Annihilation!
