Fighting our way past the rubble strewn mess that was once the creature called Tortos, The Grim pressed forward. Deeper into the Forgotten Depths we moved, through the caverns, past the flora and fauna of the darkness… nearly all of it deadly in its own right. We dispatched creature after creature, until we came upon a truly horrendous creation corrupted so thoroughly by the mogu that its true form was unimaginable. The spirits called it Megaera and The Grim rallied to their banners. After an excruciating battle, The Grim prevailed once again.
Even the most callous among the mogu quaver at the thought of the dark experiments performed at the Thunder King’s behest. Long ago, a young cloud serpent was twisted into a multi-headed hydra and left to languish beneath Lei Shen’s throne. Now the twisted creature lurks deep in the Forgotten Depths, awaiting the moment it may finally inflict its terrible agony upon others.
The Grim plummeted into the caverns below the Throne of Thunder as the ground beneath them erupted. Accounting for all of its strike force, The Grim moved forward cautiously and ready. Swarms of bats came forward and were dispatched, and then, before the assault team, stood a massive turtle-like creature. Large and not mobile, but still quite deadly, this beast summoned more dragon turtles and bats to its defense, and all were dispatched with ruthless effectiveness. The Grim do not care if you call this place home, if you are in our way, you will be annihilated.
Over the millennia, small amounts of mogu flesh-shaping magic seeped into the caverns below the Thunder King’s citadel. The dark energies warped one of the chamber’s native dragon turtles, melding it to the surrounding crystalline walls. Known as Tortos, this amalgamation of flesh and stone has since feasted on the cave’s rich mineral deposits and grown to a colossal size.
The Grim press forward, and can hear the roars of some vile beast deeper in the caverns ahead. Undaunted, we will make our way through all in our path, and finish off the Mogu and Trolls.
The history of the troll tribes — the Drakkari, the Farraki, the Amani, and the Gurubashi — is awash with millennia of betrayal and conflict, but the Zandalari’s promise of a new, unstoppable empire has finally united these disparate troll leaders.
These troll tribes united under the banner of the Zandalari’s plans is indeed a dangerous and terrifying thing. The Grim fear nothing, and when we came upon the leaders of each of the tribes meeting, we had to act. Four troll elders would be challenge enough for most, but thanks to voodoo magic, the Spirit of Gara’jal has returned, and our old friend has taken to possessing these elders and making them even more powerful. The battled was pitched, and hard fought, but The Grim prevailed.
Next, we move to Tortos. Peace through Annihilation!!!!
The Grim returned to the Terrace of Endless Spring once more, to again wage war on the Sha of Fear and his minions. This time The Grim would show they indeed fear nothing, and through physical strength and mental toughness, prevail over all foes.
The Sha of Fear is the physical manifestation of terror in Pandaria. Imprisoned by the legendary pandaren emperor Shaohao long ago, the entity has been newly strengthened by rising conflict across the island.
The Onslaught called by Irredeemable Bloodstar continues its corpse-laden path through the Alliance ranks. Crates filled with severed scalps creak and totter in massive stacks within the Grim halls and the fetid stench of drying skin lifts the spirits of the true defenders of the Horde. Dreadweaver Addikus Grace led a fist of the Blight Serpents into the mountain home of the dwarves to unleash the Mandate upon the Bronzebeard scum. Victory was theirs and no casualties were sustained (aside from a regiment of gryphon-lovers).
The Grim entered the arena of the Zandalari to face the monstrous dinosaur called Horridon.
The Zandalari brought powerful creatures with them to the Isle of Thunder to use as engines of war. Led by the War-God Jalak, the dinomancers of the Zandalari Beast Ward use ancient tribal magics to strengthen the great beasts and command obedience. The horns of Horridon, the fabled mount of Jalak himself, can tear through the stone walls of a keep as a blade cuts silk.
The Trolls came in waves, one after the next, but even the swarms of minions could not prevent The Grim from shattering the beasts armor and piercing its heart. Nor could the presence of the Zandalari War-God, Jalak, come close to stopping our advance.
The mighty Oondasta, pride of the Zandalari dinomancers, was spotted moving on the fabled Isle of Giants. The call went out quickly and the Horde responded. One of the most massive forces this land has ever seen was assembled to face this threat. Greebo, Bartalomu, Tuskinar, Valindria, Sangjai and many others were present from the Grim and helped in marshaling the assault. After a prolonged battle and innumerable casualties, he was mortally wounded. With this victory secured, the remaining forces can work to finish securing a foothold on the Isle of Thunder. Peace through annihilation!
When Pandaria separated from Kalimdor many thousands of years ago, a veil of mist kept outsiders from discovering the newly-formed continent. The mists also hid a reminder of an ancient evil: Lei Shen’s Throne of Thunder. During his rule, this fortress was the seat of the Thunder King’s power. Even after his death, great swathes of corrupted energy lingered, and now, the resurrected Thunder King and the Zandalari trolls intend to harness that energy to establish the reign of Lei Shen once again.
The Grim do not intend to allow this to happen. Our first obstacle in this deadly place was through the Ruined Approach, where the Zandalari met us with force. We cut through the minions, and stood before Jin’rokh the Breaker.
When the Thunder King awoke, he rewarded the most loyal and ambitious Zandalari trolls with power beyond their wildest dreams. The berserker Jin’rokh was one of the first to receive the King’s blessing, and even though Lei Shen’s gifts nearly tore his body apart, the troll is now capable of calling the fury of the storm in battle.
With the berserker defeated, we pressed on through the Grand Overlook and its Spirit Flayers, then into the Royal Amphitheater where we face our next foe. We will defeat the beast called Horridon next, along with all that join the fray. The Grim are no strangers to arena combat.
Scouts have reported ill tidings on the horizon, and The Grim made a last ditch assault into the Terrace of Endless Spring.
Straddling the mountain range between the Jade Forest and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, the Terrace of Endless Spring has been a sacred refuge for millennia. Its peaceful fountains are said to have the power to heal and rejuvenate, but when the Sha of Fear attacked, many of the complex’s guardians turned on each other in fits of terror.
The Sha of Fear loomed in the distance, but in order to face the beast, others that he had corrupted needed to be defeated. Through grit and determination, as well as luck and skill, the Grim would press onward. The first to face our might were called the Protectors of the Endless. They have been ended.
When the Sha of Fear invaded the Terrace of Endless Spring, three venerated jinyu protectors were corrupted, and they betrayed the other mortal sentinels, slaying them all. The twisted guardians have now turned their attention to any intruders who might interrupt the sha’s attack on the area’s last defenses.
Upon the defeat of the Protectors, a shadowy dragon came upon us. The beast Tsulong, once majestic in its splendor, now a sinister mockery. The beast called upon many of the Sha’s minions, and breathed it’s foul shadow breath upon the Grim, and we held fast. Glimpses of its true might and purpose shone through as we fought, and eventually we were able to free the beast from the Sha.
Legends speak of a spiraling, golden serpent that can sometimes be seen high in the sky, basking in the sunlight above the clouds. The few who claim to have observed it themselves say the creature is fiercely protective of the terrace.
As the beast flew off toward the Sha, the Grim rushed to keep up but were blocked by a deceptively vicious foe. The spirit of water known as Lei Shi stood before us, calling upon the elemental forces that had been corrupted, its mind so lost in horror and fear, it lashed out. The Grim do not negotiate with those that raise a hand against us, even if they know not what they do. The creature would not be fully destroyed, however, and it eventually regained its mind. The Grim marched up the steps with the spirit of water to face its final foe.
For countless years, this friendly water spirit frolicked in the Fountains of Endless Spring with childlike wonder and glee. When fighting suddenly broke out in this peaceful place, Lei Shi saw the crystal-clear water turn cloudy and murky, and terror fell over her mind.
Sadly, the Sha of Fear proved to be too much for an exhausted Grim force, though it will fall soon enough. For now, the Sha’s forces did their job in tiring our troops, and we are forced to withdraw. We lick our wounds, and vow to destroy this creature once and for all.
The battle is far from lost, and the war will always rage on.
Peace Through Annihilation!
While only a small portion of Grim actually were able to battle in the Terrace of Endless Spring, success is due to everyone in The Grim. We are a unified front, and with that unity we will succeed in our mission.
The Mantid’s decision to request the Grim remove their Empress from power has proven wise. No longer will her corruption seethe out to taint those around her, and the Mantid are now indebted to us.
The ancient Klaxxi order has come to a mournful decision: the tainted grand empress Shek’zeer must be deposed. Traditionally, mantid rulers are displaced in their old age by a carefully chosen successor. However, Shek’zeer’s intended replacement is still too young and weak to unseat her, leaving the Klaxxi with no choice but to kill the current empress. If action is not taken against her soon, all of Pandaria may crumble before the mantid’s ravenous swarms.
