Hellfire Can Melt Iron Citadels

Our enemy has has taken up refuge in what was once called the Iron Citadel, the seat of power for the Iron Horde and its vast armies. Corrupted by Gul’dan’s magic, it is now the seat of power for the Shadow Council, the remnants of the Iron Horde, and the Burning Legion.

When Garrosh encouraged Grommash to begin construction of this massive stronghold at the heart of Tanaan Jungle, to serve as a staging ground for the assault of Azeroth, he even suggested the name Hellfire, pulled from a different time and a different land. He dreamed of seeing mighty orcish iron towering over an unblighted landscape, so very different from the wasteland he had known in Outland. But even as times change, so too do they stay the same.

HELLFIRE ASSAULT

With the aid of the mercenary Blackfuse company, the Iron Horde constructed devastating siege machinery in the shadow of Hellfire Citadel, to be used in the eventual assault upon Azeroth’s capitals. With the tanks now retrofitted to use Fel energy, Siegemaster Mar’tak awaits Gul’dan’s command to begin the assault.

Unwilling to surrender, Gul’dan’s forces led by Siegemaster Mar’tak, put up a fierce resistance at the very gates of the Citadel.  Mechanical monstrosity after mechanical monstrosity pounded our forces as the Grim turned the very guns protecting the Citadel upon itself! Pounding the doors with everything we had, the battle raged on.  As the smoke cleared, and the doors fell, hundreds of Fel Horde and their allies lay dead at our feet.  Siegemaster Mar’tak fled early in the battle, and escaped our punishment for now, threatening to return.

IRON REAVER

The schematics for the Iron Reaver were found in the workshop of Blackfuse himself after the fall of Orgrimmar, drawing inspiration from the mighty constructs of the Legion and designed to be the nefarious goblin’s masterwork. The project was completed after his death, and represents the pinnacle of the Iron Horde’s military might.

Keeping true to her word, Siegemaster Mar’tak did not flee after all, but instead used the time it took the Grim to overtake her minions to activate a device of true power.  The Iron Reaver.  “The might and invention of the Fel Horde… the fury of Hellfire itself! Behold!”

A machine designed for killing in just about every manner one can think of, this iron juggernaut spewed forth fire, and metal, taking to the skies and raining fuel and explosives from above. It even used its own size and weight as a weapon, charging through our ranks and slamming to the ground from the air.  All of this might and show of force proved futile, as the Grim bested the best the Fel Horde could throw at us and took Siegemaster Mar’tak down.  The Citadel courtyard was now in the hands of the Grim.

HELLFIRE HIGH COUNCIL

The interior of the Citadel was filled with servants of the Fel Horde, and there were multiple passages for which the Grim could take. Knowing all would fall before us soon enough, we headed toward the leadership group of the Fel Horde, the Hellfire High Council.

Thousands of Iron Horde orcs accepted the blood of Mannoroth, but none grew as powerful as the three that stand before you. Dia Darkwhisper, champion of Void magic and an outcast of the Shadowmoon, rose quickly to power – the left hand of Gul’dan. Gurtogg, with his insatiable hunger for blood, emerged the victor in hundreds of trials by combat. He was bested only once, in a draw, by Blademaster Jubei’thos. Tainted with fel sickness, they serve Gul’dan as both Highguard and Council of War.

Ideally, our forces would split and destroy all three of these foes at one time, but that can prove difficult when a hulking monstrosity such as Gurtogg Bloodboil bears down upon you.  Our vanguards did all they could to occupy the trio, while the rest of the Grim forces through all of our might at the raging beast! Eventually, through thousands of cuts and wounds, Gurtogg fell, his very blood tainting our bodies.  Next we turned our weapons on Blademaster Jubei’thos.  While not as imposing as Gurtogg, still equally as deadly.  His blades seemed to be everywhere, and much blood was shed by the Grim, but he too fell.  Undaunted, the Void magician known as Dia Darkwhisper continued her incantations, bringing the dead back to our world to fight for her and poisoning the very ground with vile void magic.  Without her protectors, it was only a matter of time before her soul was laid to rest with the very spirits she controlled.
