Grim Patrol Report: 10/2

Aftah our last few outings wit’ da Praetorian Guard, we knew we gotta take dem real serious-like. Da Alliance ‘ad a discipline we lacked, an’ wit’ dat discipline came dedly organized effort. Der melee team would chase down our mendahs one ba one, an’ dey kept a solid fist o’ der own healahs, mobile an’ redy ta lead us on a merry chase. While our last patrol ‘ad seen us reactin’ ta dis, we at best drug dem down ta a stalemate.

Alliance Incoming

Dis las’ Sunday, da Alliance engaged us firs. We wuz at da northwestern bridge when dey came chargin’ across inta our formation. While we fought back as best we could aginst der tactics, dey depleted our forces enuff dat ah called a quick withdrawal ta da southern bridgehead, ta regroup an’ reform.

Alliance Triumphant

Dam, joo know it be real tirin’ runnin’ all da time. Ah tink we all tought dat too, ‘cuz dis next time da Alliance came around, we took der wave like da anvil.

The Battle Rejoined

As dey came fo’ our healahs, we beat dem off, an’ chased down der slayahs until dey went cryin’ back ta der holy pallies. We stemmed der tide leastways, an’ started snipin’ down der own mendin’ team. As der losses started ta mount, da Alliance pulled back an’ retreated from western Tol Barad.

The Second Act

Our outridahs found dem agin at da base o’ da cliffs on da northern beach, a favorite o’ dem Guard. We’d crashed aginst dem der often enuff dat we wuz canny. Ain’t no sense takin’ da enemy where dey want ya too. So we circled around ta da south side ta set up our own lines. Den we engaged.

Blood TideThe Anvil

We wuzna gonna go headlong rushin’ like we used ta. We copied our earliah tactics, not rangin’ out too fah, an’ keepin’ close ta a gigantic boulder dat stood out like a sentinel from da sea. Da Alliance pushed us back aginst it, attackin’ wit’ all der strength. When der strength failed, we trew dem back.

The Horde Wave

Da Guard an’ der ilk wuzna gonna leave, tho. As we fell on der lines, dey drew up several mages an’ bombarded our position. Den der regrouped assault forces charged.

CounterstrikeThe Line

Da Horde bent but did not break. As we absorbed der counterassault wit heavy casualties, our soldjas returned ta da battle an’ fell on da Guard. Havin’ suffered attrition durin’ da course o’ da evenin’, da Alliance broke. Tol Barad, fo’ dat night, wuz ours. Wuz da Horde’s.
