Gunragna Applies!

How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?
-Indeedly! I've RP'd with a good deal of you lot on Paiyuna or my various other alts, such lovely people! (Especially Lilly)

The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?
-I can do's that! I check wow-tng everyday now, can just tick other tab daily for this one!

Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?
-Oooh man, I am a heavy RP'er, I've been doing it since Vanilla and before that, in DnD. RPing is about an interactive story between people, evolving our own stories from other people's input. It has no end (Well, barring character death), that ever continues to help our characters feel like they belong in this massive world (of warcraft).

The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
-MWAHAHAHAHAHA EEEEVVVIIIILLLLLL, first runthrough of Undertale I did Genocide, does that count?

Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
-Borrowed Time mostly on TN, and before that, I was Rough Raiders on TN too before it disbanded sometime in wotlk.

Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
-Yes, Gunragna is an alt, Paiyuna will always be the favorite child. I'm mostly looking for a different scene to RP in, ya'know, seeing if the grass is greener on the dark side.

What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?
-Undead Death Knight, though she is an undead vrykul from Northrend. I chose this specifically since I adore the thought of free-willed Scourge flocking to Sylvanas' banner much like the val'lyr did. It also helps to have this sort of fresh character, new to the outside world.

What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.)?
-RP with PvP in the future, probs BG's, arenas, RBG's.

What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
-Raid Leading in classic....never again.

What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
-ALL THE BG's AND PVP. Man, when arenas first came, I got hooked, went from PvE to PvP focused in a heartbeat, and always the deeps. I bring the pain.

Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
-Yepper! I think it fits quite well.

How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
-Its fine! I use a laptop, a new one, so I don't play on the ultra high mega settings, but unless I'm in a heavy 25-man, I won't ever have FR issues.

Provide an armory link to your character.
-http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/t ... gna/simple

What days/times do you typically play this character?
-Eh whenever.

Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?
-I have! And I dont!

Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?
-Indeed! Gunragna is bound by her code of honor...which matches the Mandate quite well!

Do you have anything further to add?
-BOOBS!

Tricky application.

Here is a quote from our roleplay policy:
The Grim do not accept non-standard Horde races such as dragons, ogres, or arakkoa. Applicants are expected to adhere to the playable races (orc, troll, forsaken, etc), though specific distinctions are permitted. These would include mountain trolls versus forest trolls, Mag’har orcs versus greenskins, and other minor cosmetic differences.
However, the Forsaken "race", as described in official lore, is not necessarily only humans corrupted by the plague. We have many examples in Northrend. Indeed, a better statement may be that all Forsaken are the raised descendants of the Vrykul, as that would include humans.

I am leery of OKing this application only due to the grey area it creates with future applicants (ie, the troll who wants to apply as a full Gurubashi Berserker, the tauren who wants to be Taunka, etc).

I leave this up to Awatu's final decision. My ledger tilts to the side of acceptance.

Lore-wise, this would be like saying that night elves and trolls are the same. As far as playable races are concerned, all Forsaken are raised from human flesh. Death knights are a special case but still all playable races.

As far as playable races are also concerned, all trolls are Darkspear, and yet there is quite the population of Sandfury within the Grim.

True, but as High Inquisaitor Khorvis pointed out - tribal variations are allowed within our rules. It is appropriate to distinguish what are essentially political divisions from biological ones. Vrykul are not members of the human race.

Oh no, i fully understand that, but I was countering the argument you made about Forsaken being solely made from human flesh and pointing it out. Merely saying that the constrictions of the lore world within playable races are stretchable to a degree.

So then, after a it of deliberation, I was wondering if I could tweak her to better fit with your standards. An undead human female who merely thinks herself vrykul. I have an idea for her Biography which can easily explain her confusion with this process, which I will begin on shortly.

From what I heard in Eclipse, this change is reasonable and I approve of the direction.

Carry on!
