Adventures in Mining
Lascivious - November 21, 2005
Lascivious rode Sam through the jungle crater of Un’goro deftly
guiding her faithful steed with a light touch with reign or knee
around the large lizards wandering the crater floor.
Gods, she thought, this place is worse than the Badlands.
With one eye on the wildlife and the other on the mountain wall,
she searched for the tell-tale signs of minerals. The reflection
of sunlight was so brief she almost missed it. Turning Sam to the
right she made her way toward a cave. There. Just outside the
entrance she spotted the jutting hunk of thorium. Dismounting she
headed for the cave and removed her pick. Just as she was about
to take a swing a giant ape appeared from nowhere!
It’s giant fists cracked her in the back and she turned and
buried the end of the pick into its gut. Letting go she pulled
out her mighty hammer and smashed the beast in the face. Once the
creature was down she sat on its mighty chest and began to eat.
She could her the sound of fighting and she stood and looked down
the hill. An elf and a gnome with a demon were fighting two of
the giant apes. The elf looked like some sort of warrior.
Bah! He’s after my thorium! I just know it! Lascivious thought.
I’ll be dead before I see some filthy elf get what I worked so
hard for.
Without another thought she charge crashing in the warrior and
swinging her hammer into him again and again while the warlocks
magic tore at her. Finally, the elf fell to the ground and she
turned her wrath onto the warlock. But she was tiring and new she
wouldn’t last. Suddenly a burst of energy engulfed her and a
blast of bright light laid the warlock low. She looked behind her
and saw a giant Tauren.
“Thank you, druid,” Lascivious told him.
“My pleasure,” he replied and began skinning the dead giant
monkeys.
Lascivious sighed and headed back up to the thorium. Yet again
she had to fight against the giant apes. Didn’t I just kill
these? She laid one low, then another, but two more replaced
them. She tried to get way, but that damn beasts were too much
for her. Fueled by the strength of the Dark Lady’s will, she
pulled herself back from the brink and sent her spirit back
toward her body. Once there, she began to eat and drink, but
nearly spit out her food.
That damn elf! Heading for my thorium!
The elf warrior ran up to the cave and disappeared. A moment
later he came running back down with three giant monkeys on his
tail! Lascivious laughed and ran up to the cave and began to mine
the shining stone. A blow to her back interrupted her swing and
she turned to face the elf again. Despite battling three hairy
beasts he ran back attacked her. She turned and smashed her
hammer into his face. Twice more she struck at him while the
beasts pounded him. Finally he fell.
He’s a tough one. I’ll give him that. She braced herself for the
giant monkeys attack. They pounded on her relentlessly. Finally,
angry beyond words, Lascivious screamed a guttural cry that froze
one beast in its tracks and sent the others fleeing.
Quickly she ran to the mineral and used her pick to break it out
from the earth. Grabbing the shards, she stuffed them into her
pack as she ran away from the angry giant monkeys. After a few
moments she looked back and saw the creatures returning to the
cave just as the elf revived itself. The angered creatures
immediately took out their frustration on the newly risen warrior
and he fell beneath their mighty fists.
Chuckling, Lascivious called to Sam and she mounted up, spurring
him on toward Tanaris.
[and that is how i reached 300 mining]
