by Bloodscream

Heavy booted feet slowly made their way towards the doors. A large shadow filled the door, from in it, two red eyes shone like embers.

Bloodscream entered the Inn. A great many Grims had seen Bloodscream in battle. More often than not, he wore a smile as he fought. Bloodscream was by most accounts a good natured fellow.

His eyes were so narrow they looked like little lines of fire.
His jaw was clenched, his fists closed, his tabbard, as always, soaked in blood.
He stood in the doorway a while, just staring.

"Idiots." he muttered through clenched teeth.
"You sit here and celebrate one of our own breaking our mandate."
His gaze settles on Anaie.
He said nothing but the disappointment on his face was plain.

"Idiots."

"All this for a human child..."

Anaie stood and turned to face Bloodscream, "All this for a human child?" she said in a raised voice. "Do you tink I did what I did because of a human? Den you be da idiot orc... I assaulted a elf whore because of what she did ta Kromag, an my exile was not over da act itself."

Anaie leapt up onto a table and yelled for the rooms attention. "Grims! I am exiled for deception to our... your... Mistress. Lascivious 'as cast me out for bein' lyin' ta 'er when da accusations of the attack were made. Why did I do such a ting? Because, I believed in me 'eart dat 'er not knowin' was fer da best fer 'er, an in such, fer da Grim." Anaie turned her gaze to Bloodscream, "It appears I was mistaken, and now I be payin' fer it. A punishment I 'ave accepted, and stated dat I will follow. I still will drink wit my fellows, and slay with my fellows, and be dere to aid dem in any way if I be needed." Anaie hopped off the table and pushed past the orc warrior to leave the tavern, "Least I be findin' out who me true fellahs were bein'."

Bloodscream clenched his jaw and moved aside.

"That one you get for free rogue. The next time you push a Grim, be prepared to face the consequence." he called out after her.

He swept the room with his gaze.

"Apparently I'm the only one around here who takes Mistress edicts seriously, nice work encouraging her behaviour though... I can clearly see she's learning from her punishment..."

Bloodscream held his hearthstone and it began to hum.

"idiots..."

In a dull throb of green light, he was gone, and the room was a happier place for it.

As Bloodscream left, Melchisedech lifted his flask of port to his lips, taking a long pull and enjoying the way the alcohol flowed into his rotting frame. This was bad. The conflict with Lovely and Anaie was bringing strife to the guild. He drummed his fingers on the tabletop, noting idly that one of the yellowed nails had broken at a jagged edge.

He saw opportunity here, but for what? Would... could his actions help keep the Grim together? Was there room here for his own advancement? Did he even want to advance?

He shook his head, spidery fingers drawing his hearthstone from his pouch. He set it on the table in front of him, idly tracing the pattern with a bony digit. He would need to speak with Bloodscream and Lupen more.
