A Human Child?! by Kromag

Unread post by Keeper Of Lore »

"Give me another!" Kromag's voice echoed loudly in the inn that night. The bar keep just looked at him with those missing eyes, "Kromag, are ya sure me friend? I mean i appreciate yous keepin me tavern afloat and all but ye aint ever drank before."

Kromag looked about the inn carefully, he saw only a couple in here other then him. It was late in Tirisfal Glades, and the inn in Brill was being depleted of it's strongest liqueds quickly. The moment Kromag heard about the human child his sister took on as his own he did something he never thought he would do.....get drunk.

Bringing Kromag another ale the forsaken bartender smiled at the orc, and why shouldn't he be happy. This orc was making him a small forturne, he had been tipping more then the drinks were worth.

Tipping back the mug Kromag downed the drink as fast as he could, a good portion spilling over onto his chest armor. Licking his lips he slammed the mug down. "Barkeep! Get me another!" Kromags voice was badly slurred and his language was starting to revert to the more primitive form of orcish.

"Eh Kro, how many of dis here drinks ya be plannin on drinkin friend? Dis be number thirteen." The barkeep really was not all that concerned, money was after all money.

Kromag tried his best to respond, "I drink, till I ain awakes noo mores or I wakes up from this nightmare!"

"Excuse me sir...." a small, childlike voice peeped from behind the massive orc. "I was told to find you and deliver this note."

As the hunter turned slightly to see who was pestering him his eyes fell upon another small child, perhaps six or seven years old when the plague took him. A tiny arm extended to full range, and the rest of his body turned sideways as if terrified of the massive orc getting quite intoxicated. In his arm was a small note, sealed with a drop of wax.

Snatching the note from the boys hand, he broke the seal and read the contents:

"Kromag, A plan is in the works to ease your concerns... I shall contact you as soon as I have more details. Please be kind enough to burn this note.
-A"

Kromag smiled brightly, "HA! yes! Drinks on me for everyone!" The orc shouted as he threw the paper into the fire pit. Looking down at the child he hands him a gold coin while patting him on the head.

by Gundnir

Gundnir slung a heavy leather bag over his shoulder, shaking it once out of habit to make certain just one last time that he packed enough rations. The Shaman had planned an expedition into the Plaguelands, and he was not sure how long he'd be.

The bag was secured with its buckle, and Gundnir Vayde strode tall from the Undercity. He didn't enjoy being in such close proximity with so many Deaders: his comrades, Acherontia and Mel brought him an unusual comfort, but an entire city full of them, with their careful and meticulous steps and calculating methods in everything they did...well that was too much for the Orc.

He preferred the chaotic changing of the weather, the swirling of storm clouds and the random crashing of waves. Which is why he smiled as he stepped into the Tirsfal evening and felt the drops of rain on his weathered skin. The leather wide-brimmed hat he preferred to wear was actually removed in the weather, and he allowed the rain to soak his hair and run through the creases of his face in rivulets.

Fangs-First was un-leashed from the stables, and not a moment too soon. The massive red wolf was subordinate to Gundnir, but only because the Orc had proven himself the alpha. Fangs-First had a rather ornery disposition around other wolves, though.

Together they walked at a casual gait, enjoying the weather, the sights, and the sounds as they passed through Brill.

But then the Orc's ears caught wind of something - a boisterous, slightly slurred voice roaring over the din of the busy town.

"Drinks on me for everyone!"

Kromag. The Hunter.

The door to the tavern burst open, and Gundnir thrust both arms in the air in greeting, flashing a toothy half-grin.

"Hoohah! Gundnir will drink with ya!"

Anaie walked up to Kromag standing tall.

"What was done was done to show that you do not betray Grims, under penalty of death.... " She stated flatly. "I 'ave paid my price fer actions dat I will not discuss, regardless of da accusations bein' true or not, but know that what was between you and the elf blood knight, must end..."

"Your sistah made her choice, now you make yers... da Grim are yer family as much as 'er, if not more. Some of us even willin' ta sacrifice dat family to show you such...." Anaie glanced down and for the first time in ages, gazed upon her armor... there was no longer a tabard to cover it.

by Lovely

Lovely sat in the world's end, trying to decide on what to do. She had sacrificed everything for the sister and the child....DamnKromag and his mouth. She didn't know where she would end up, ifthey would even have her back, or if she wanted to go back. Butthen thoughts of Gorvena and Orugasa entered her mind. They werelike family to her. They cared for her, helped her, and were goodand cheerful people....Or were they?

Did they follow the beliefs that Lovely was no longer sure of?

Regardless, she and Anaie had been cast out. It was time to pick a new path.

Strolling into the inn, Sammuel overhears a bit of Anaie's speech.

"what's this about losing your tabard, Anaie?"

The look in Sammuel's eye grows deadly, and his jaw visibly clenches.

Tipping back another drink he looks at all who have come into the building.

"Thanks be to you lady Anaie for your sacrafice, my fight with Lovely is no more. You have settled that debt for me, and the price you paid was more then I ever wanted. I owe you much Anaie, if ever you need anything and I do mean anything ask me and it is yours."

Smiling slightly Kromag hands a drink over to Anaie, "Drink with me mylady, please. You as well Gundnir, and Sammuel, drink with me."

Kromag slides a couple of drinks down the length of the bar and smiles at his allies and friends.

by Malethia

"I told you, did I not? I TOLD you that Lupen's little pet human would spell disaster if allowed amongst our ranks!" Malethia entered the tavern, having heard of the events and come to Forsaken lands after training at the Order's temple in Silvermoon. Despite her discomfort being surrounded by so many of the undead, she took a seat amongst the other Grim.

"I must say though Anaie, I congratulate you on a job well done. The only thing that had kept me from spilling that traitor's blood was the insistence by our leadership that she was valued. It appears that you just lost your patience on the matter before I did."

Malethia looked over at the rogue. "Should you attempt to re-enter the Grim, just say the word, and I will stand beside you before the leadership. Consider it a favor owed for a task well performed."

Anaie took the drink raised the cup high and shouted, "Fer da Glory of da Grim!" and downed the beverage as only a sailor could.

Slamming the mug down she turned to Sammuel, "My association wit da Grim 'as been broken, per da Mistress' decree. I 'ave one month ta be tryin' ta redeem meself before da sentence is permanent... 'ow dat redemption will come is gonna be da 'ard part. What I do, I do fer da Grim... what yer sistah fails to learn of my acts is to protect 'er as much as it is to protect da Grim. IF I unleashed my fury upon da disgraced elf it would be as a lesson about treachery upon yer fellows... no more, no less." Anaie cocked her head toward Kromag, "dis one 'ad 'is problems, but much 'as changed about 'im... but some were usin' does problems ta continue a campaign of mischief upon 'im. If da elf was nearly killed fer it... den perhaps she'll be learnin' about consequences of 'er actions. I accept my fate, an be undahstandin' it... an' in one months time dat tabard," Anaie points at Sammuels chest, "will be mine a'gin...."

With that, she turned back to the bar and beckoned for another rum. Anaie had no doubts what was told to Sammuel would find the ears of the Mistress, in fact she almost counted upon it...

Sammuel scratches his head at Anaie's speech.

"hmm... I don't pretend to understand what is going on here, but I know you to be a worthy killer. Something we could use more of... "

Taking the tankard Kromag offers, Sammuel takes a long draught.

"as long as you did not raise a hand against my beloved, I see no reason for expulsion from our order. I gather from your words, that a fellow Grim was the object of your malice.... and it is something I have almost done many times. We are Grim, we are not milquetoast fools. I say, let there be bloodshed.... "

Draining the glass, Sammuel slams it down on the counter and storms out of the inn heading in the direction of the Monastary.

by Grogkor

A branch cracked under the orc's heavy steps, Axe slung along his
back while the gun remained tightly within the Hunter's grasp.
Ice blue gaze shifted along the doorway of the tavern, then threw to
those of the Grim and the one who held his heart.

No words would be spoken, nor drinks be had.. Grogkor had not yet
earned the full title of a Grim, still but a minion, and a mix of his current
anger and the alcohol, weak as it may be due to Kro having already
absorbed the strongest of the batch, would not make for a good
combination.

A slight groan came from the floor under his weight, shifting a stance
to lean upon the frame of the door, Burzum quickly resting at his side.
Thick fingers ran down the scope of his rifle as his eyes moved from
those within, to the air of the night.
Hunter, Protector...

A dark shadow passes by the Inn, in it passes a sad young elf., pausing to peer inside he see his hero without the colors he seeks for himself. He knows Anaie could not have killed the wretched Paladin because he saw her very few moments before outside of gadgetzan.

Looking in wistfully he turns and vanishes into the night.

Thinking to himself, I will find out who killed this Elf and make them come forth. I know a investigator I wonder if he can help me.

Goes to look for Diomades.

Anaie heard that the young rogue was attempting to prove her innocence and sighed.

"Redcap.." she whispered into her hearthstone, "please cease your investigation into the matter... I 'ave spoken to the Mis..., er, Lascivious and admitted my guilt. I tank ya fer yer efforts to aid me."

((As Gorvena:))

Like, omigawd! When Kro totally told me about what Vilmah had done I was like totally crushed. I thought Vil was like the coolest female Orc warrior, and I often asked like advice and junk from her...but a human? Humans enslaved my whole family! Chingaso's too. Totally!

And when Kro asked advice, I totally said, "If it were me I'd totally kill it and eat it."

Then I like find out that my totally good friend Lovely told Vilmah and junk...

So now I like have totally lost my role model and maybe one of my totally closest friends...

/sob

((As Chingaso:))

The news of Anaie's suspension and Lovely's expulsion rung around the guild hall. Chingaso looked up from his ale...

"What this? Anaie out of Grim? Outrage! For try slay traitor? What mistress think?

And Vilmah adopt human??? Human enslave Chingaso family. Human slay Chingaso friend Serrano. Human lowest form of scum. Worse than elf!"

Chingaso gathers his equipment and heads to the field of combat, resolute to put much thought into this turn of events. And to confront Vilmah on her choices..
