Shadow mailed two letters, one for Anaie and one for Lupen, though both were different. They had something that He wanted, one who could stop him, and the other who knew. If both had known, he would have already been banished. He had to feign the letters, or else they would know. Why did he trust them?
"No matter... it will be over soon."
To Anaie,
I wish to meet with you... I have need of the diamond you possess. It is that time, Anaie. I would prefer our meeting to take place in Stormwind City, I will wait until you arrive, however long that may be. One more thing, talk to no one about this. This is only our matter. Any questions will be explained when you arrive.
Thank you,
Sha
Death Shadow
Feeling successful, he went on immediatly to writing Lupen's letter:
To Lupen,
Good news, I have removed him successfully. You no longer have need to aid me, and the Fade will surely not happen. You see, there is a diamond that Anaie had given me, one which could seal him. The fool had given it to Anaie to make me believe it was lost, but Anaie had given it to me the other day. I am cured from this.
Your Friend,
Death Shadow
He mailed both the letters, then lied down on the bed in the Goldshire Inn, with a frightening grin on His face.

Lupen handles the letter, muttering to himself as he reads it. He spoke only to himself, "I must speak to Anaie..."

Anaie did not know what to think as she snuck through the streets of Stormwind City. She just knew that she wanted to get outside the gates and back to Grogkor as soon as possible.
I hope you are still waiting Grogkor and not fightin' yer way into da city... she thought to herself.
She told him she would not bring her stone with her, for fear of a transmission coming though and giving her position away, and that she would be back in only a few minutes. Reluctantly, the protective hunter nodded and found a nice copse of trees to hide in, Burzum by his side.
The encounter with Deathshadow left her on edge... he rambled on about no longer needing her now that the gem was his. Anaie darted across a main street, slipping between a vendor hawking his wares from a cart and two young Alliance haggling for a better price. She had pressed the gem to his open palm, instead of dropping it into a bag as he requested, and it seemed to paralyze his muscles. Then, upon removing the gem, he had lashed out with a form of shadow magic at her. Instinctively Anaie had saved herself by enveloping herself in her own shadows, causing the magic to bend around her form and dissipate into thin air. Normally someone would die for such an act, but this was not the Deathshadow she knew. This one felt the need to mock the pain that he thought she was feeling from the spells effects...
Anaie slipped past the final guards and out the gates of the city, making her way into the forest and toward her love. She never liked venturing into Azeroth, especially when the journey could lead to rash thoughts and emotions... and perhaps trigger enough weakness in her defenses to allow the Lich to find her again. But Deathshadow was a Grim, and he had entrusted her with the gemstone, so she vowed to aid him. She entered the stand of trees and stood face to face with Grogkor.
"Anaie all done? Nubdead no need Anaie no more?" He asked.
"I be done fer today luv... but I tink he will be wantin' ta speak ta me again" Anaie grinned as she spoke, and held up the gem that she had palmed as she dropped the worthless stone into the pouch that Deathshadow had held. " 'e seems ta really want dis gem, but I didn't tink dat it was wise ta give it to 'im."
Grogkor chuckled and nodded, "Nubdead no try ta hurt Anaie?"
Anaie smiled, "Nah love, ya know I kin be 'andlin a priest of da light!"
The two laughed as they mounted thier undead steeds and rode toward the Redridge Mountains.
"Oh, an' luv... I know I said I would not meet wit Lupen again, but I tink 'e may be da only one dat can 'elp Deathshadow. I don't tink it will mattah if ya come, but ya gots ta promise dat you will not threaten 'im anymore. It upsets me to see you both fight." Anaie said flatly as they rode.
Anaie could hear the orc's growl easily over the thundering hooves as they rode....

Shadow leaned back on the chair in one of the abandoned shops in Stormwind. Nothing bothered him anymore, for the only true way to stop Him now, was to stop Death. He didn't think they would dare, but he waved the thought away with the realization of his power. How could they defeat him now?
He peered at the wound on his leg, and shifted his gaze to his hands.
His face expression became irritated and tense. His focus on his hand was forceful and sharp, yet there was no result of his high concentration. He could still not control His powers. No grasp of the light, he couldn't understand. He wasn't even able to, not yet.
He retrieved the pouch from his bag and placed it on the table. He felt uneasy, and he was hesitant to get any closer to the cursed object. He felt he had to do it; why would Anaie so easily hand it over after the act of treason he made?
He reached for the pouch, being very careful not to touch the stone. The pouch contained a simple gem. He felt no weaker, as he did when Anaie was near. He grabbed the worthless stone and threw it across the room!
"She will pay for this one... they all will."

Anaie held her stone to her mouth and spoke into it quietly, "Lupen, we must talk about Deathshadow. Contact me when you are able."

As always, the sands of the hourglass roll slowly as gravity forces their pitiful being to an eternity of monotony. Such is the life of a grain of sand, such is the life of study. The page was crisp, but hardly clean. The edges were creased, a bit torn, and yellowed by time. The only sound was the crackling of the dying embers of the Guild Hall fireplace. The candle burned just enough to allow his eyes to focus. Focus was a virtue, focus was the difference between madness and sanity in the din of knowledge, life or death in the battlefield. This focus was crushed, shattered, torn asunder by her voice. It was almost welcome, she reminded Lupen of her twin sister, they sounded nothing alike, but, nonetheless...
Lupen placed his hand over a rune upon the Hearthstone and spoke in a whisper, loud enough to disturb the candle's flame, quiet enough to keep the rats asleep within the walls. "We shall, Anaie. Shadow is slowly becoming him... I fear we may lose him eternally should intervention be avoided..." Lupen paused, turned a page in his tome, and continued, "... Anaie, meet me in Shattrath's Lower City, the Worlds' End Tavern... We will speak further there, I do not wish to alarm the rest of the guild... Yet."
