One Brewfest Night by Guduk

Unread post by Keeper Of Lore »

The Flat plains of Mulgore where quiet, the night sky clearas the stars added to the still scene below. A few night creatures still hunt, but the recent activities near the high cliffs of Thunder Bluff make them keeptheir distance. Two figures stroll away from the brewfest activities, leavingthe loud music and drunken Goblins and Tauren to their Ale.

Guduk breaths deeply as he looks out towards home, the coolair and the walk slowly sobering him from the large quantities of Ale he had acquiredearlier. A cool breeze brushes by and Guduks’ mane lifts and sways in time tothe wind. He glances over as he sees Jarnsaxa shiver slightly, and he reachesback to unclip his cloak and drape it over her shoulders, the size of his cloakallows her to wrap it completely around her form, armor included. Gudukchuckles slightly as she reaches up and pats him on the chest in thanks as helays an arm over her shoulders, his Hide plenty thick enough to keep him warmfrom the winds, and his new Brewfest Regalia a vast difference from his usualfull Plate armor.

His low voice rumbles as Guduk speaks, looking out towardsBloodHoof as they start to see the huts form ahead of them “Its been a whilesince I have been home, it will be good to the Family.”
Jarnsaxa cackles slightly “Ya t’ink t’ey recognize ya wit’outyer Armor and shield?” fingering the clasp to Guduks’ cloak around her neck as shecranes her neck up slightly to look at Guduks’ face.
A low rumble recognized as a chuckle from Guduk as he replys“To be safe, maybe I should announce myself before walking in.”

Guduk motions to a hut as they approach town and they turntowards his home, “The fire still burns, Good, they are still up.” As they getclose, Guduk speaks up “The Great Mother has brought me home, Windbarrier, yourSon, Guduk, returns” before his hand reaches out push aside the door, the hideis ripped aside and the flood of light from the fire behind spills out to blindthe two briefly. His hand pulls back to shade his eyes as Niema Windbarrierstands in the way
“Guduk?” herquestioning voice follows her form as she leans out to get a closer look “You areback? And you brought a friend! Come, come, Enter” Niema moves aside and allowsthe two to enter, Guduk reaches up to remove his green Brewfest hat as he stepsinto the massive hut he calls home, Jarnsaxa pressed close behind him and removesthe cloak once inside the warm main room.

“Mother, this is Jarnsaxa, a Shaman healer with The Grim”Guduk motions to Jarnsaxa as he retrieves his cloak from her and sets it away. “Goodta Meet’cha” Jarnsaxa bows her head and gives her respect to Guduks’ mother.Niema returns the greeting with a slight smile and looks to Guduk “You hardlyever bring friends over, Guduk.. its nice to meet one of the Grim you speak sohighly of” she grins and winks towards Jarnsaxa while she moves back to thefire and returns to some cooking she had left.
Guduk smiles as he moves to sit near the fire and motionsJarnsaxa over “We where are the Brewfest, and got to talking, Mother, I toldher you where good at piercing and making rings.”
“I see” Niema slowly straightens and makes his way to thefar corner of the main room “It has been a while since I have done either, but Iwill have the needed equipment” she smiles as she pulls out a small bag andmakes her way back to the fire, she looks to Jarnsaxa and eyes the currentpiercings’ and the few places where piercings’ use to be “And I see you are nostranger to the act, what where you looking to get?” her head tilting.
Jarnsaxa smiles kindly and reaches up to brush at one of hertusks “there was talk of having a ring, or band for one of my tusks.”
Niema chuckles softly as she reaches into her small pouch “Notso much of a challenge, I could have that done by tomorrow.” She moves over toJarnsaxas’ side as she goes to work at measuring the indicated tusk for theperfect fit “you can spend the night if you wish”
Niema looks over to Guduk “You have a few things in yourroom waiting for you. Including that massive sword you had mailed to us. Theyare sitting on your bed.” She then gently pats Jarnsaxa’s arm and smiles at thetroll “I’m sure you would like to see how he collect his items.” She rolls hereyes slightly “Reminds me of my old warrior days, swords and weapons everywhereon the walls”
Guduk straightens and blushes slightly “Mother, there arenot many.” He moves towards his room separated by another leather doorway,Jarnsaxa muttering her thanks to Guduks’ mother before moving to join him.
Guduk pulls aside the door and allows Jarnsaxa to enterfirst, he moves to follow but suddenly feels his nose ring being tugged aroundpainfully. Face to face with his mother, her hand on his nose ring as shestares him down sternly “You better not be taking advantage after a few drinksin the brewfest.” she grumbles softly in warning, a quick glance behind him tosee if Jarnsaxa is in earshot as Guduk attempts a pained reply “Mother.. I’dnever..”
Another slight tug on his nose ring cuts him short “Just don’t bebreaking another dear heart, she decides what happens, not you.” Her eyeslooking back to him and her shoulders slump slightly “I’ll have some breakfastready, and the band for when you two wake up” she leans forward and kisses himon the cheek before she lets his nose ring go. “Sleep well, Son”
Guduk snorts softly and reaches up to rub his tender nosewhere it still stings and softly bids his mother good night before he turnsback to his room.

=================================================================

Two Red gleaming eyes watch the three quietly in the backroom while Guduk and the two females speak around the fire, the eyes study Gudukand the young troll female with him, considering but never moving.
Guduk and the troll finally slip away for the night andNiema turns back to the main room, she moves back towards the fire, her eyescarrying a sad look while she begins to work quietly.
Druman steps out from the shadows, his red eyes dimmingslightly, Niema glances up when he speaks quietly “Its awoken in him, and heknows… I can feel it”
Niema straightens and moves to her mate, a hand reaches upto rest on his chest. Druman looks down at her, and then over to Guduks’ room “thefemale will complicate things, what if she does not accept him if she findsout?”
Niema hushes him “I accepted you, and he will find one too,if not her, then another.. she’s troll, relations between them would be trickyas it is.”
Druman looks back down at Niema “You don’t understand, I keepin balance with my communion with nature, the Great Mother keeps me in check, and Drukur use to do the same. Guduk is a warrior; he feeds on Anger and rage. Itwill grow stronger in time and he will lose control of himself with everyfight.”
Niema thumps her hand on his chest to silence him, her sternlook returning as she looks up at Druman “Guduk is different, he has his ownbalance. Speak no more of it” she pushes Druman back towards the shadows “Wewill speak of it later, not while they are here” she turns back to the fire togo back to her work while he slips away, unable to argue with his mate.

(( Time for a new sig, Guduk! That gear is outdated! And see what happens when I cannot sleep? I post, even if it sucks! ^_~ ))

Brewfest! What could have been better than sitting around getting drunk with
friends? What had begun as a leisurely stroll among the pavillions turned into
something much greater. Not to say that drinking with friends and strangers
wasn't pleasurable enough, but the aftermath ranked considerably higher.

Her troll-born metabolism had dealt with the alcohol enough to properly
process the flirting and the decision had not been while fully looped on the fine ale
being so freely handed out. Of course, that wasn't to say the two halves of her
mind meshed on the idea. In the back of that healed mind, part of her disliked the
idea of the hulking, muscle-bound male presiding over here; whereas the other
side of her was rather fond of the idea and eager to see what might happen.

Both happened to be awed at the sight of his collection of weapons and armor.

The next morning, after graciously thanking Guduk's mother for the hospitality
and the beautiful band, Jarnsaxa took her time leaving Mulgore and considered
making a trip home herself.
