The Path To Redemption by Elazar

Unread post by Keeper Of Lore »

Cool crisp rain fell on the loneDruid, Elazar, as he sat beneath the large tree. It had been nearly a weeksince his exile, but the anger and pain still burned fresh in his mind. He knewthe task that lay that hand. He knew the names of those that would die. Elazarstood and stretched his long arms far behind his head. The time had finallycome for redemption. As he began his long journey toward Hellfire Citadel hecouldn’t help but wonder how his enemies were spending the last days of their lives.

The Fel Orcguards stared at each other in disbelief as the life slowly faded from theireyes. How had the Druid gotten the drop on them so easily? Elazar silentlycleaned the blood from his paws. “No use leaving a trail”, he though to himselfas he once again skulked back into the shadows. He slowly turned his noseupward and a small growl escaped from between his razor sharp teeth as hecaught the scent of Gargolmar, the first of his would be victims.

WatchkeeperGargolmar slowly paced the long corridors of the Citadel as he had done so manydays before. If only he had known that this day was different maybe he wouldhave been more on guard.

“What do wehave here?” he barked at the Druid, as Elazar crept out from the long shadow ofthe hall. Elazar didn’t speak, but a cruel vicious smile crept across his face.In a flash the Druid had closed the distance between them and was tearing intothe doomed Watchkeeper. It didn’t take Gargolmar long to realize that this wasno ordinary enemy. Gargolmar quickly scanned the corridor searching for thisguard, but alas they had already fallen prey to this vicious intruder. It wasn’tlong before Gargolmar lay dead at the Druid’s feet. Elazar looked down at himwith fire burning in the Druid’s eyes. He was now so close to redemption thathe could almost taste it.

Omorglanced quickly to the far corner of his chambers, searching for the figure heknew he had seen. “Ha, none would be foolish enough to enter the Citadel” hereassured himself. Elazar slowly crept around the back of the fiend as Omorcontinued to scan the far side of the room. Before Omor could realize hismistake, Elazar had struck. The fiend thrashed in pain in a vain attempt tofight off the Druid, but Elazar would not be denied. Almost as quickly as ithad begun, it was over. Elazar glanced over his shoulder, down the lastcorridor of the Citadel. Redemption would finally be at hand.

As Elazarentered the chamber he moved out from the shadow, coming into plain view of thedragon overhead. Vazruden the Herald looked down and him and scoffed “foolishDruid, you will make a fine meal for Nazan”. Elazar crouched low to the groundand stared up Nazan. “May the god’s show you mercy, because you will find nonefrom me” Elazar snarled as he darted toward the dragon. Vazruden directed Nazandown toward the Druid, but the cat was too quick. With a push of his powerful flankElazar soared into the air, crashing into the chest of Vazruden. Lockedtogether, the pair tumbled toward the ground. Vazruden was dead long beforethey hit the ground. Elazar spun round on the spot, and caught site of Nazanjust as a brilliant orange cone of flames spewed from his mouth. The Druidmoved with quickness that Nazan had never seen. Elazar side stepped the dragon’sbreath and once again sprang into the air, landing squarely on the back ofNazan. The dragon roared and thrashed, but it was too late. The Druid sank hisrazor sharp teeth deep into Nazan’s neck.

As the last bit life of the dragondrained away, Elazar prepared to depart. There was no time to savor in thevictory. There were more matters to attend to. Redemption would finally be his.
