((All the king's horses and all the king's men... couldn't put Lupi together again. Which is why he has girls saving him!))

"Shh, friend. We'll fix this." Lomani brushed Lupinum's hair out of his face and carried him over to where Syreena was assembling the other parts she had found. Her pale green eyes flicked to the elf hunter just standing there. "You. Help gather everything you can find, please. Start with the jaw." She looked to the rogue as she unfastened her cloak and laid it down on the ground. She moved Lupinum's head to it. "Syreena, put him on this. We can't stay here with the worgs and such. Can we move him inside the walls?"

She knew the Grim probably had their own healers, but Lomani would help however she could until they stopped her. If she was going to be the one to stitch Lupinum back together like an abused doll, she'd want his parts rinsed of dirt first (and extra goo), and a calm quiet place to work. Some place free from the worry of Tirisfal's wild worgs, bats, and spiders.

(I was trying to wait my turn for Syreena to post so we don't get out of order, but I'll skip ahead to get this moving.)

Syreena seemed preoccupied with gathering up the pieces, and it was Lomani that spoke up first. Shaelie nodded to the tauren and quickly turned to the task. Her vision kept blurring as she carefully worked the jawbone free. Her own jaw was clenched tightly, and she focused her attention on gathering up the scattered parts. She listened to Syreena and Lomani as she worked. Moving inside sounded like the best idea yet..

Syreena was relieved Lomani was here to help. They needed a healer for this, and the Tauren priestess had always seemed trustworthy.

She followed Lomani's instructions, dragging body parts onto the cloak. As she worked at gathering her friend's limbs, she looked at Lupin's face.

"How did this happen?" she asked, even though she already knew he couldn't speak yet without his lower jaw attached.

With a frown, she finished collecting the parts on the cloak and nodded to the others. "I'm sure we can let Lomani come just inside."

They gathered up all the pieces of the Forsaken they could find.

In no time at all, Lomani's clean white cloak became covered in parts, gore, and dirt. The seer stood over it for a moment after it looked like the two Grim had searched for too long, coming up with nothing new to add.

She blinked, and looked at Lupinum. Instead of the orderly rainbow of a person, his glow was muddled, horribly mixed in a sickening sort of dim and formless churning. She was pretty sure if left like this, even if an undead didn't die for good, they'd lose themselves. She looked up from Lupinum fast, and scanned the area around them. She couldn't see any telltale glows in the dimness of Tirisfal's landscape, just Syreena and Shaelie. If they missed anything, it was minor and unimportant.

"I think we've got him. If you could each grab a corner, we can move him somewhere safe and I'll reassemble him." She realized how that sounded after it had already been said, but she wasn't in the mood to apologize. Seer Ravenfeather had said that leaders should not be sorry for taking charge. Lomani had no illusions that she was actually anything like a leader, but in this case, she seemed to be the most qualified. She looked expectantly at the other two, prepared to take the two corners on her end of the make-do travois.

She was glad for the hands-on approach the teachers had taken with her training. Being sent out with adventurers to keep them safe through scary places like Shadowfang Keep, being a first responder after the attack on Thunder Bluff following Cairne's death... it was moments like that which enabled her to look at such chaos now and see past the awfulness. She saw the ways to fix it, to make it better. It would take time, but this... this was something she could mend.

Syreena lifted her corner of the cloak holding Lupinum's parts, and with the others, they got him just inside the gates where Lomani could work in peace.

The little rogue was happy to let Lomani lead this effort. Syreena was skilled at taking bodies apart, but she didn't know much about putting them back together.

She looked at Lupin's face as the priestess began to work. "What happened?" She asked the question even though she knew he couldn't answer yet.

Lupinum gazed up at Syreena, trying hard to keep his eyes steady even though his head was bobbing and rolling with the effort to lift him. He could do nothing but grunt in reply. He didn't know what to say to them... Naming Kerala as the culprit would turn too many Grim heads. But lying would be worse for both of them...

The priest couldn't let Kerala be ripped apart, figuratively or no. He would try his best to explain why she had lashed out. If that failed, Lupinum was ready to use his magics to get them both to safety. Besides, he was still mostly intact. Nothing a mugful of brew couldn't fix.
Lupinum's head rolled forward and his lazy tongue smacked against a particularly gooey piece of his corpse with a squishy plop. He was sure if his neck was still attached to his gut, there would have been some vomit. As it stands, he closed his eyes and almost whimpered in self pity.

Shaelie seemed to have no problem at all with Lomani taking charge. She didn't even care that the woman was not Grim. She was horde- and she was willing and capable of helping Lupinum. She helped the others carry Lupinum into the guild hall and hurriedly brushed some books and items off a table, clearing a space for Lomani to work. Once the priest was set on the table, Shaelie rushed to grab a pitcher of water, some towels and bandages and then returned to the others.

"What can I do?" She finally spoke, her voice hoarse. Her eyes were on the tauren. "What do you need to work on him?"

Lomani looked at Shaelie and smiled as she pulled a sewing kit from her pocket. "The only thing I need in addition to these things is thread. I'll need more than I usually carry." Looking at the sheer amount of goo and the dirt stuck to it, she added. "Maybe more water..."

The seer straightened the corners of the cloak, pulling it fully open. Lupinum's head was, of course, no longer at the top of the long pile of his parts. She retrieved it and set him down in a little nest of towels on the blanket, so that he was propped up rather than left staring at the ceiling. She dunked a towel in the water and deftly wiped the gore from his tongue first, then his face.

She was well aware of how much he wanted to communicate. It spoke to the severity of the priest's condition that he had not been able to establish a mental connection with any of them.

Done with the cleaning, she prodded through the bits and pieces until she found his jaw, and wiped that down as well. She carefully folded the undead's tongue up against the roof of his mouth where it belonged, and with her other hand, fit the jawbone where it should go. A quick flash of Light should seal it.... Lomani removed her hands. It seemed to have worked?

She smiled at Lupinum. "Alright, then. Let's see about the rest of you, hmm?"

The tauren surveyed the mess for a moment, then grabbed a piece. She had an endless reservoir of patience for tedious projects like this, after all- the puzzle of a person's body was a much simpler thing than some of the designs she created with tiny beads or embroidery threads.

She would clean the dirt off, anchor a thread, and baste them in place with long stitches. Once Lupinum was reassembled, -then- she could swap a needle for the Light, and this poor scarecrow of a Forsaken would be good as new. Or rather, good as dead. Whatever.

The hard click of his jaw reconnecting and fusing, this time for good, to his jawbone was a welcome flash of pain. The Light made him feel alive - it reignited his nerves. He was unable to speak completely clearly, having to leverage his jaw against the table to open his mouth, but he managed.
"What the Fel took you guys so long..." he grunted with a wry smile.

"HELP. I found Lupinum, and I need a mender here right now! I'm just off the path leading to the guild hall in Tirisfal... it might be too late.."

It had been a full month, but she had not forgotten. The elf huntress -would- be the one to find him, of course. Nosy woman.

The druid had flown through Tirisfal occasionally, and the priest had stayed exactly where she left him. Why? She knew the blow to his head would not have kept him unconscious that long. Why did he not call for help? Why did he not send anyone after her?

Kerala slipped into the shadows after hearing Shaelie call over the hearthstone. She was a mender, but she did not want to be the one to fix the priest. She took to the wilds, leaving her hearthstone muffled and stuffed into a pocket.

Shaelie nodded quickly to Lomani and hurried off to fetch the needed materials. So far, she had not spoken directly to Lupinum since they had recovered his body. She barely even looked at his face. She couldn't bear to. It took a lot to rattle Shaelie. But this. This couldn't be much worse.

She ransacked the bunk areas of some of the Grim's tailors, dumping drawers and pawing through satchels. She would deal with any reprecussions later. She didn't care. The only thing that mattered right now was to Lupinum to be fixed, and to not suffer anymore.

She returned to Lomani and Syreena a short time later- several spools of twine, strings and cords were dropped on the table, and she set down a large jug of fresh water.

With his head propped up, Lupinum could watch the slow work of Lomani arranging his various bits and pieces back into a semblance of his shape. As he lay there, he became a sort of study for the human body. The long bones of his limbs were spaced apart and straightened before the Priestess began her actual stitching.

It was almost soothing to watch her work. Surprisingly deft Tauren hands made swift, strong movements with the needle. In through the thigh, through the calf meat and back out again. Rinse off a piece of Forsaken and repeat. Lupinum watched, and knew, that this was the easy part. No pain - no anesthesia was necessary. Shaelie had a growing pile of soiled rags next to her, one flopping onto another as Lomani working over his limbs to clean the gore and dark Tirisfal soil.

Syreena was standing off to one side and watching. Her glowing eyes had moved onto Lupinum's skull and he could feel the hard questioning look she had. What could he possibly tell her? Was there anyway to explain what happened and not have Syreena bring Kerala in front of the Grim?
Lupinum's forehead creased with his thoughts. He was not a good liar, nothing he could say would be believable, but he would have to try. This is not the time or the place... he thought as Lomani whispered an apology. She moved his head to realign it with his spine, bringing the high vaulted ceiling of the hall into view.

A warm hand, covered in soft fur brushed away hair from Lupinum's face. Lomani leaned over him with a sad look in her eyes. "This part is going to hurt..." she looked away and began to murmur some prayers. The priest closed his eyes and waited. The Light was a conduit of warmth and comfort for most races. It cleansed and healed, stitching broken muscle together, staunching blood flow. But with a body that was already "dead" the Light was an entirely different beast...

Every single time Lupinum channeled the Light to mend his comrades he felt more alive... The breeze of battle washed over him smelling sweet with blood and death. The warming rays of the sun and the feel of the dirt between his toes... and the searing pain of being burned alive with Holy Light. It was the price to pay. The fists he fought in wouldn't give in to their wounds and their pain only because Lupinum would sear his own body and mind to keep theirs intact.

This Lupinum all knew when the Priestess had shown up. That this was going to hurt. Lomani had stopped her prayer and sparks of Light danced around Lupinum's ankles. The heavy taloned toes twitched with a life of their own as the Light grew more solid. It felt like a burning scalpel was wedged between his bones. Dead nerves reignited and screaming in pain. The priest kept his eyes closed and his mouth wedged shut as the Tauren worked further up his body. The harsh burning never ceased, and Lupinum was expecting to smell the hot reek of his body roasting. Needles of pain shot up and down his legs, like thin rods of molten metal in his veins that grew longer and longer, spreading into his chest and arms. The more Lomani worked, the more Lupinum was conscious of the pain, all throughout his newly connected limbs.

He felt the hand, fuzzy and warm, against his neck and those rods of metal shot into his skull with such a force he was left dazed. Lupinum fell back into unconsciousness, his last feeling being one of lifting, as if he were flying.

He awoke some time later in the night, in his old Supplicant room off of the main guild hall. Though his head swam with the after effects of his... surgery, he resolved not to stay here any longer than necessary. On the desk were some affects for new members: a new communicator and transporter to the guild garrison in Draenor. Lupinum threw open the closet near the table, hoping and wishing that - yes! The Grim's Goblin cleaning crew had neglected to get rid of his robes.
Lupinum donned his old white robes, stained with blood both Alliance and Horde, swiped the small electronics and headed back out. He didn't know where to start, but finding Kerala seemed imperative...

Qarosimae and Syreena were talking outside the Brokenspear tavern the day after Lupinum was put back together by Lomani. Syreena noticed the elf nod solemnly to someone behind her, and she turned to see Lupinum.

“How are you feeling?”

Lupinum looked at her and blinked. “I ache. Really hard.” He rolled his shoulders and rubbed his hip.

“Well....at least you're back together now,” the little rogue said. “Now I want to know what happened?”

The priest swallowed, said he needed beer, and headed into the Brokenspear. Syreena nodded, then turned back to Qarosimae. “You coming?” Without waiting for an answer, Syreena followed Lupinum inside.

Lupinum climbed on top of the stack of barrels. His joints popped when he sat atop them. Qarosimae pulled off her hood and looked up at Lupinum. Syreena also peered up at him.

“Well?” the little rogue demanded.

Lupinum worked the beer in his mouth before answering, savoring the harsh almost chemical taste. “It was my own fault.”

“How?”

“I wanted answers to some answers and went about things in kind of a forceful way. It didn't end well, but... Here I am!” Lupinum smiled, not knowing how to be more vague.

Syreena peered at him, noticing the vagueness of his response. “Did you find the answers you were looking for?”

“Some,” he admitted. “I'm shtill trying to sort it all out.”

Qarosimae brushed a bit of hair out of her eyes and adjusted her glasses.

“Who?” Syreena asked.

“Who what?” the priest asked in response, not understanding what she was asking, or pretending not to. “Am I? Lupinum! Sy you need your head checked again.”

“Who were you asking the questions to?” she clarified.

“Or what,” Qarosimae added.

“The... Nether...?” Lupin said with an unconvincing smile.

Syreena just looked at him. “The Nether tore you to pieces because you were forceful in finding answers....”

“Yeees...,” he confirmed, again not very convincingly. He slurped his beer loudly.

Syreena looked at Qarosimae with a questioning look. "Is that possible?"

“I never question what is possible, only probable,” the bookworm elf answered.

Lupinum grinned at that. Syreena sighed and stareed flatly at Qarosimae, but she didn’t offer any further explanation. The elf eyed Lupinum sharply. Syreena also turned back to him to try to find out more information.

“What questions were you asking?”

“Uuuhmmm..,” Lupinum fidgeted without answering the question.

"What might tear me limb from limb today?" Qarosimae offered. Lupin just swallowed again.

“Do you not remember?” Syreena asked him with a frown.

“No, I don't remember. Exactly.”

“What do you remember?”

Lupinum furrowed his brows. “A massive wall of shharpened spears and fighting my way through it.”

“That's it? You don't remember what tore you apart?”

“Nope.”

“Hm, well, I hope you feel better soon.”

Lupinum nodded slowly. Qarosimae pulled a flask from her pocket, uncapped it, and took a long pull. Aaren came in and dropped a bunch of coins on the counter for Lina'gar and said nothing. Syreena headed for the door, but then paused, something didn’t seem right.

“So....if you don't remember...,” she began, looking back at Lupinum. “What are you still trying to work out?”

“Uuuuhmmm....,” Lupinum stalled again, his eyes flicking to the side.

“Find him yet?” Aaren asked Qarosimae, who jerked her thumb over her shoulder at Lupinum. Aaren blinked at him. “Oh, sho there’sh that.” Then she shrugged.

“He fell to pieces,” Qarosimae said.

“…fell?” Aaren questioned with a quiet snicker.

“Torn!” Lupinum corrected, eager to dodge the question Syreena had asked him. “Torn to pieces!”

“Had trouble pulling himself back together,” Qarosimae continued. “Quite distraught, I guarantee.”

“Who did you pissh off thish time?” Aaren asked Lupinum.

“I didn't do anything!”

“That is not what he shaid earlier,” Qarosimae informed the other elf. “He wash asking questions that should never be asked to thingsh that should not be questions.”

“Lupin....,” Syreena warned. She was starting to lose patience.

“What!”

“What are you still trying to work out?”

“Nothing!”

"’How can I please a woman when I am dead?’ he asked a succubus,” Qarosimae suggested. Aaren covered her face with her palm. Qarosimae gave a little smirk.

“Lupin....” Syreena started again. Lupinum craned his neck. Syreena started whistling like Leyu’jin did when he was waiting for an answer from her. It didn’t seem to work so well on Lupinum though.

“What.”

“If you don't remember anything, what are you still trying to work out about the answers?” Syreena asked again, but Lupinum just drank nerviously.

“ You shhould ask Lilly to help,” Aaren suggested after rolling her eyes.

“I wash trying to shee into the past, okay. But I don't remember, so it doesn't matter. Can we drop it please?”

Qarosimae sipped at her drink. "He knows exactly what happened. He is embarrassed and does not want to share."

Aaren shrugged and took another long drink. Syreena turned to Qarosimae.

“How can you tell?”

“People are like books. ...hic!” the bookworm replied. “Except more annoying.”

“They really are,” Aaren added with a nod.

“Watch how he fidgetsh and deflects every question. See how he dodges and changes the subject. It is not exactly subtle.”

Syreena carefully arranged her face into an expression of hurt and disappointment before turning back to Lupinum. “Lupin? Is that true? You wouldn’t lie to me, would you?”

Aaren peers at Lupinum searchingly. Lupinum clenched his jaw. Aaren grinned wickedly at him.

“Everyone lies, Syreena. Even you,” Qarosimae said, but Syreena ignored that, remaining focused on Lupinum.

“But... wait... I wouldn't...,” he stammered.

“Why won't you tell me?” the little rogue frowned, nearly pouting at him.

“I am! I told you what I remember! It was very traumatic when my head went fly-..”
Lupinum gulped his beer loudly.

Syreena tilts her head. “So..you remember your head flying. Who or what sent your head flying?”

“Whose ass do we need ta beat then?” Aaren blinked at Lupinum. That was what Syreena wanted to know too, but she wasn’t going to just come right out and ask it like that.

Lupinum nearly bites the edge of his mug. “The Nether. It got all twisted and smacked me. ...hic!”

Aaren stared Lupinum down. Lupinum shot a glance at Aaren. Aaren scowled at him, and he slipped off the barrels.

“The Nether came to Tirisfal Glades and tore you apart for asking it questions....?” Syreena questioned. “Is that really what you're telling me?”

“From what I remember...” he answered weakly, looking down at his empty hand and wondering where his beer went. He clicked his teeth together.

Syreena frowned at him for a long moment, and then looked at Aaren. “Can you get in his head and help him remember?”

“Woah woah woah,” Lupinum objected.

Aaren sighs at Lupinum. “I mean, I -could-, but I can't force it.”

“Why not? Willl the Nether tear you apart too?”

Lupinum 's gold eyes narrowed only slightly. Aaren shrugged. Who knows?

“That's kinda Lilly's specialty, isn't it?” Aaren asked.

“She's been....keeping to herself a bit since her return,” Syreen answered. In truth, she didn’t know where Lilly was lately. It would have been very helpful to have her here through this event of patching up Lupinum.

“Why are you so insistent on knowing that which Lupinum does not wish to share?” Qarosimae asked. Syreena paid no attention. Like Aaren had asked, she wanted to know who was responsible for this. They couldn’t just let people go around tearing apart Grims, or even other Horde, and get away with it.

Syreena kept her gaze on Aaren. “Can you do it or are you as worthless as I always thought?”

A sly smirk spread across Aaren's face. “Yeah, I'm pretty worthless.”

“You people are really mean when you all get together,” Shokkra piped up. “Not that you weren't before, it's just amplified now.”

“I'm innocent!” Lupinum objected.

“LIES!” Shokkra exclaimed.

“They’re attacking me!”

“Syreena would never attack anyone!” Shokkra assured him. “That's crazy talk!”

Syreena patted Lupinum gently on the arm. He flinched. “It's okay, Lupin. We’ll find someone useful who can help you. Not a worthless elf.” She glared at Aaren.

“I don't want to be helped...,” Lupinum assured her. “I just wanna be alone and kill some Alliance... and read a book.”

“Okay, you relax and get better.” Syreena smiled at him. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

She noticed Aaren and Lupinum glaring at each other as she walked out of the tavern.
