Parallel Goals (Elanderik)

Unread post by Elanderik »

Seated at a table, Elanderik rubbed his fingertips idly along the handle to a heavy mug whose contents flared the nostrils and nearly watered the eyes with every breath. It tasted foul, there was no way around it, but the burn it left when it went down served as a reminder that the grizzled Knight Lord hadn't died yet.

A dozen thoughts had plagued his mind of late, with one in particular having been a certain blue-skinned troll who had stated her own ambitions on joining ranks with The Grim. He understood their philosophy, as despicable as it might have been from the outside. But, when he held it in comparison to the nothing short of atrocities he'd committed himself in his own efforts to ensure the survival of Quel'thalas and his fellow Sin'dorei, the two seemed to fit side by side. With The Grim, it was what he had already done, just expanded to encompass a larger whole.

Peace through Annihilation, he mused as he lifted his mug to claim the last few gulps of the vile brew. He thought of the old names and faces he could recall from their group. One by one he mulled over them...
images of the crafty Forsaken rogue Abric, of the Tauren Cristok who had overseen the Tournament games. He considered Rosalynd Du Coudray with a brief smile, one that turned to a wince when he also recalled her rival, Cessily. Ah, but then there was Rethsil, and a smug little smirk when he recalled a truly lengthy duel with Aest whom he'd beat to the ground before the eyes of Cristok, Rosa, and many others.

For a moment, he even snickered. Then, with a grunt, the red-haired elf reached over to take up the nearest parchment and a quill, then set to forge his letter.
To the attention of the Irredeemable:

I am Knight Lord Elanderik Que'tinasi, referred to often as 'Elek,' and this letter is one to show my intent on joining into the ranks of The Grim as I feel your goals run parallel to my own beliefs. I will not waste your time by listing my 'merits' and accomplishments on this paper that would necessitate lengthy confirmation. Rather, I trust there are a number of you who know and remember me well enough to provide you the information you would need regarding a decision of acceptance.

Should you prove interested in bringing my skills and services to your organization, let us work out a time and place where I may meet with one of your agents. I am sure they will have plenty they would like to discuss.

Regards,
Elanderik Seravin Que'tinasi

Syreena sighed as she read the note. Another elf. Wonderful. And she was supposed to know this one apparently. Unfortunately, she tried not to remember elves, and when she did remember one, it was usually not for good reasons.

The little rogue twirled the quill between her fingers for a moment, thinking, and then grinned as she wrote a note in response.

Dear Elek,

Elek--like the beasts of burden the Draenai people ride?

I'll be in the Wyvern's Tail on Tuesday evening around 8:00. I, and possibly other Grims, will interrogate interview you then.

Bring me a present.

Peace through annihilation.

A brief stop at the parcel box brought the discovery of a reply bearing the markings of The Grim. Narrowed eyes marked the moment when he read the comment about the large beasts of Nagrand as its author certainly wasn't the first to make such a note. He read on, pausing at the mention of a present.

It occured to him that he had no idea what sort of gift the Forsaken rogue would appreciate. He'd known of Syreena, but couldn't recount much time spent conversing with the woman. Instead, he'd have to question a few contacts of his for a better insight, and fortunately, several came to mind.

Eight in the evening at the Wyvern's Tail, he mused, that should work.

With a nod, the Blood Knight set out; he had a few people to track down and some 'interrogating' himself to do.
