Re: Kharzak Get Paid To Surf The Web
I still don't think that's right. Fuck the cheaters and exploiters but at the same time they ARE paying you 15$ a month and probably have been for years and you won't even BOTHER to tell them you've given a negative mark on the account as well as in-game punishment. Nope they care so little for their customer that they expect them to find out themselves, research it themselves, accept the punishment, pay 15$ for next month.
It seems like half the player base is on the verge of quitting. I doubt this gave them subscription boosts...

Re: Re: Kharzak Get Paid To Surf The Web
"They cheat" should never be followed by a "but". If you cheat or exploit in a competitive scenario, regardless of the details of that scenario, you forfeit your rights to have an opinion or voice in that competitive area.
While Blizzard has become increasingly vague and C&P in their customer service contact - they always tell someone when they do something. There is no hidden agenda, there is no surprise banning - you get an email that says what you did. While there is a *possibility* that people do not receive it - I think that is an exception to the rule and not the standard.
Enforcing their ruleset will not increase their subscription base - but it will most certainly keep more people around. If I am PvPing, I want to know it is a level playing field and I do not have to compete against people who are cheating. You cannot do that now - because each layer (1800s, 2000s, 2200s) have their own particular brand of bullshit.
Expand that out beyond the PvP spectrum. Look what they do with raiding - while the exploits and work around's effect very few of the population (Top 5% of raiding teams) - it is STILL cheating and it is still enforced. Look at the server firsts - they knocked back quite a few people because they CHEATED.
Then to the RP. What if they enforced that? I promise the servers would be a hell of a lot smaller... but you'd have a hell of a lot more happy people playing around.
Rules are rules. If you break them - you should be punished. In MMOs, you should be banned.

Re: Kharzak Get Paid To Surf The Web
I have no issue with the punishment only the fact that people don't know what's happening. You bring up a good point that they may have just missed the communication or it didn't reach it's destination for some reason. Even then I still think this is something that should be displayed when you login to your account. The moment you're verified something should pop up demanding attention that notifies you of punishment. Depending on e-mail is silly. Hoping people visit their forums is even worse.

Yeah, that would be great if they did a little programming and updated customer service to... I don't know... 2006?
