It's not only the reality but inevitable. The fact that they have any player base at all attests to the game and dev team. I've never played a game longer than a year or two with the exception of WoW which I've taken many breaks from.

Am I the only one wondering why they would do it this way? Strip them of their gear fine but at least tell them why and let them know a strike has been leveraged against their account. Their customer service has been very steadily getting worse. I expect them to eventually be like Google where it's very very difficult to talk to them. Their communications have become less frequent and more obscure. They're pushing more and more customer service issues into "Call or email for resolution" which to me directly translates to "Theres something either you or I won't want to say in public about this".

For instance why didn't the blue just say, yes that's exactly what happened to a lot of players. Here's a link describing what and why. After reading this if you feel this is wrong THEN give us a call. Instead he just says fuck you.
