The writing is neat and steady
(IC) What name or title do you go by?
-Duroxas Quel'Ivan. I've had a couple of titles, but I'd rather simply be called by name.
(IC) What is your gender and race?
-male blood elf.
(IC) What is your class in life? Why did you choose to follow this class?
-I am a warlock, and I have been for quite a long time despite the personal risks that this lifestyle choice presents. The fact that I've been able to carry on with this profession without dying, going rogue, being executed, going insane, corrupting myself beyond recognition, shooting myself off into the Twisting Nether or blowing myself up in a badly-performed ritual should be testament to my skill in manipulating dangerous magic and controlling the demonic entities I employ. Magic like this is not for everyone, but I sure as hell wasn't going to settle with mere arcane, thus why I am where I am today.
(IC) How many "Honorable" Kills do the Battlemasters currently have recorded for you?
-At the time of writing, they have 17,429 'honorable' kills recorded for me. I don't necessary report all of my battles to them, though, their definition of 'honorable' tends to be a little strict.
(IC) What drives you in life? How would the Grim benefit from having you among its ranks?
-If I had been asked that question a few years ago, the answer would've been something on the lines of “To gain power and knowledge, those are the things that drive me forward”. Times change, though, and though knowledge and power are still important to me, I now have a wife and child that I love dearly. The alliance, however, threatens the sanctity of my family's future, as well as being a general threat to the horde itself and everything that comprises it. To ensure that the alliance will no longer be a threat to that witch I hold dear, that's what drives me. So how would I benefit The Grim? To put it quite simply, I am a warlock of considerable strength and skill. Not only am I well-versed in warfare on a large scale and highly practiced with the magics I wield, I also am an accomplished interrogator with a history in espionage experience and a master alchemist. War is not always fought on the battlefield, sometimes one must get a little creative to really make a difference...
(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
- Oh where should I start... During the war against the illidari in Outlands I helped to maintain a few small guilds, but I think that might be going so far back into the age of irrelevancy. I did wear the colors of the Pale Heart during much of the Northrend campaigns, but left them once I realized that they were misguided in their views of the alliance. From there I fought with the Liberators under Selash Gustblade through the remainder of the war, and after the Liberators lost their funding shortly after the cataclysm aided the Frostwolves before going my separate way. Since then I've focused on taking care of my family and aiding the Horde in its battles independent of a tabard alongside my wife.
(IC) What are your thoughts of the new direction the Horde has taken since the Cataclysm?
- It is not my place to judge the decisions of the warchief, but I support the horde's current direction. Hellscream is what the horde needed, and is who will lead the horde towards crushing the alliance beneath it's heel.
(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members. What does that mean to you?
-Its definitely isn't something I'm used to (Most of the RP guilds I've been in in the past were rather lax on their immersion expectations), but its a welcome change that I can definitely handle.
(OOC) The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by a structure with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies. Does this definition conflict with how you want to play your character? If it does, how do you expect to handle the conflict with other members?
-No conflict whatsoever in terms of how I intend to play my character; Lawful evil is something I can very easily work within with the character I have here and its something I've done before.
(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line? Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
-Most of my RP experience has been within wow (I dont like to count chatroom RP before I started playing because back then I was young and -bad-). However, Ive been Rping this character since mid BC and done lots of RP between then and now, and I definitely do not consider myself a beginer Rper. Maybe not Gary Gygax, but I like to think of myself as skilled.
(OOC) Is this character a server-transfer or has it been renamed recently? If so, what was your previous server and/or in-game name?
-This character has been here a long time and has never been renamed.
(OOC) What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild
- Ive heard a lot about The Grim and I know it's been around a long time, a very long time. I expect it to be a stable, mature place with people who are equally as mature. I'd -like- to do some PvE if I can with the guild, but I understand if there's no room for that. I'm really just looking forward to really being able to RP with a guild again!
(OOC) When joining the Grim, each new applicant will be matched up with someone to help them get into the swing of being Grim. In order to coordinate this, we will need to have a fair approximation of your play schedule. Please give a general outline below, OR if you wish to keep it private, send a PM to Ashenfury.
-I have class in the mornings mon-thurs, but I'm usually very reliably online from 5 – 7 server and all the way through the night. Weekends I can be around whenever!
(OOC) Please provide an armory link to your character for verification.
