Opinions of the Living- a report to Inquisitor Greebo

Unread post by Undeadhype »

Kartuk made his way through the guild hall trying desperately to look inconspicuous.
Glancing around the hall the little imp saw unfriendly eyes of Grim members clearly watching him prance by.

"Not liken this place" Kartuk mumbled to himself.

With a parchment rolled up in his little hand he made for the back of the room to a slot marked 'Mail'.
The slot was coated in dust and cobwebs, as though it had not been in use for some time.

Kartuk shrugged "I guess this is where he wants it" and he slipped the scroll into the dusty hole, assuming to himself that, someone must use that thing.

Turning to leave Kartuk ran headlong into another slightly larger Imp.

"Oh..Hey there brother..slap me up high" Kartuk was left smiling and holding up his hand while the other Imp just stood there and glared back at him.

The awkward moment lingered in silence until Kartuk said, "Oooooooo K. Got some mail there, sooooo....I guess somebody should...Oh wow, I gotta go!" and Kartuk ran past the larger Imp through the guild hall and out the door.

The larger Imp reached into the slot and took out the scroll. The parchemnt was neatly tied with a red ribbon and there were writings along its side that read "Inquisitor Greebo".
The large imp knew what to do.

To the venerable Greebo, Inquisitor of the Grim

As per your command I have spent some time speaking with other members of the Grim to ascertain how our fellow members view the Forsaken/ undead in the overall scheme of things.
I will tell you that the opinions varied greatly, and not necessarily along the lines of race or class or status. What did surprise me was the openness of the statements made, both good and bad, and how each member handled what was clearly a dichotomy between our value as members of the Grim and an overall distain for what we, as Undead represent.

I have organized this report into the five most prevalent responses.

-We are cursed. A common view of the living, yet somehow our brothers and sisters in arms see that as self inflicted somehow. I suppose they feel we should have cast ourselves into the fire at our awakening and been done with it.

-The Undead cannot be fully trusted. While the Queen has a valid point of needing to replenish our ranks, the living races see this as more of an abomination, and equate her actions to that of the Lich King. In essence I derive that they are of the opinion that we should eventually "Die Out" for lack of a better term.

-We bring strength to the Horde. On a positive note we are seen as a force to be reckoned with. Many do feel that we have the necessary strength and fortitude to overcome the Alliance dogs; however, then what remains for us if annihilation is actually achieved. There was clear avoidance to my retort.

-Some of the Forsaken have proven themselves worthy, but many have not. I could only assume they were referring to members, such as yourself who have clearly advanced the Grim in its endeavors, and myself who continues to struggle with even the taming of my imp, Kartuk. Apparently, in their minds, for every one of us who rises to the top, achieving greatness of power and status, there are ten of us who are unworthy of anything more than a place in the "Forlorn Hope" brigade. That said, please know that if ever a group of Undead are asked to be the first charge of battle that I would gladly stand with them, if only to show the living that our worth is often measured not by how we die (since we have all done that already) but how we fight.

-We are Grim. Finally the point is made that as Grim we are a group within a group. While the politics of the Horde my circle us, we follow a path as Grim. While disagreements and misunderstandings remain, our brothers and sisters in arms see us as Grim first and foremost, and all agree that together we stand, for peace....through annihilation.
