The lockpick nearly slipped from her hands, her nerves and the urgency of the situation causing her to fumble. But the moment was only fleeting, and soon she had the delicate tool inserted into the lock again. Her eyes narrowed on Estella as the woman moved for Nyali. She staggered as the other guard slammed into her back.. but Ashenfury's wolves would make short work of him. She stayed focused on her task.

"No, we're taking her!" Nika heard Estella snarl. Her vision flashed red with anger.

"The fuck you are!" Her free hand dipped down, grabbing one of the throwing knives that she kept strapped to her side. Reaching through the bars of the cell, she whipped it at Estella's face as hard as she could.

"KAILEI, DO SOMETHING!"

Ashenfury hears the chanting and suction of time and space as the mage began the incantation to tear the nether. Without thinking he looks directly at the mage and holds out his hand. An explosion of leaves escape the palm of his open hand as the mage instantly shrinks into a massive speckled frog.

Ashdane scoffed. "You're out of your mind..." She muttered, vanishing into the portal. The mage gets turned into a frog too late, and the portal remains open, though it flickers as if it is dissipating.

Nyali crumples to the ground as the ice melts, hitting the ground with a sickening crunch. The frog tries to escape his form and snarls at Estella.

Leyujin swings his heavy axe into the skull of another druid as a legion of Grim and other horde rush past him. Even in the deafening clatter of steel and anguish on the battlefield he could hear a loud barking. After wiping the remnants of what was once a brain from his face he turns around and notices a slender wolf on the field of battle looking frantic and barking at him wildly.

The troll warrior knew Ashenfury's messengers well enough; he didn't hesitate, but motioned at the canine, which took off like a thunderbolt. Calling for his own wolven steed, Leyu'jin quickly matched the beast's stride, not knowing where he was being led, just aware of an urgent situation.

Estella's head turned to the voice. "The fuck you are!" She dove aside, away from Nyali, as the blade sunk into her shoulder. The mage jumped, it wanted her to leave.

The knife impacting the woman's body brought a sharp grin of satisfaction from Nika. More importantly, it had stopped her from whatever she was about to do, even if just for a moment. Nika's eyes fell to the lock of the prison door. Delicately, she twisted the tool between her fingers.

Snick.

The lock opened and with a groan of rusted metal, the cell of the prison door swung open. Nika ducked as a bolt of something bright flashed over her shoulder, shrinking a mage inside the cell to a frog. She stepped inside the cell, darting to one side to leave the way open for Ashenfury and whoever else might be along to enter behind her. Her lips peeled back from her teeth as she glared darkly at Estella, moving for Nyali's side.

Estella rolled on her knees, freezing a moment. A thought pinged into her head- "You can take them... You're Grand Inquisitor now. " That thought quickly washed away, realizing how much danger she was really in. "Don't let these nobodies kill you, you're not free to die yet. She made a sprint for the portal, scooping up the frog on the way out.

The portal flickered and closed, leaving Nyali on the floor.

Alcaz Island. Familiar territory, Leyu remembered. He brought his drake down. It'd taken him longer than he'd liked to reach the location; the battle had not let him go easily, and the wolf could only lead him to Dustwallow's shore. He slid off his mount sinously, unsheathing his battleaxe. He hoped that he was not too late. Opening up on his hearthstone, he tried to see if any Grim would respond in the vicinity.

The night elf convert ran for the portal, but did not manage to reach it. She looked at the people around her, the beasts. She growled and drew her bow, aiming it at Nika. She let loose a poisoned shot, only to be knocked down by the three legged bear. He held her down, growling.

Nika had not taken her eyes off of Nyali, as she rushed to the side of her friend. Ashenfury and Kailei were much more equipped to fight than she was, so her thought was to let them handle any stragglers who hadn't made it through the portal while she tried to released Nyali. Some of the frozen bonds had already been melted enough that she was able to chip at them with the hilt of her other dagger. She never even saw the arrow coming.

The razor sharp arrow embedded itself into the back of her arm and she yowled in pain and surprise. Twisting around, she saw the shaft of it jutting out from her body. Already, an intense burning sensation was spreading out from the wound. "Ashenfury!!" She tucked herself lower, using her body to shield Nyali from any more arrows that might be sent their way.

Bryii wrote:..." Time to sleep Adherent". Blasting a shock of light in his body causing him to go into a non serious body shut down making the elf fall unconscious...

Therean was in Bryii's room with her locked up, of course he had his feet chained and one of his hands constricted. Bryii nudged Therean to wake up gently. "Therean....Therean wake up please." As she shook him he eventually came to sitting on one of her chairs close to a table. Bryii smiled at Therean when he came too her helm was off and her red hair dazzled downward. "Would you like some tea Therean?" Bryii brought over some to to Therean and herself with a tray of cookies. Pouring the tea into both of there cups she eventually sat down and took a sip.

"Therean please tell me whats wrong and about your memories."

Bryii's room was locked to no one could interfere.
Therean sat up, somewhat dazed. "Bryii...", he murmered as his bleary eyes took in his surrounds. Reflexively, he took the cup of tea, but as he sipped at it his eyes suddenly widened. "Nyali!" he blurted out, spilling tea all over himself as he sat up.

Therean scrambled to his feet as recollection flooded his brain, "Nyali! Nyali is in grave danger, they're torturing her." Pacing back and forth Therean scoured the room for his hatchets, "I'm a fool, a damned fool! Where are my hatchets? We need to leave. How long have I been out? Fel fel fel." Therean tripped over as he turned on the spot and moved for the door. Picking himself back up he tried the door. Locked.

"Bryii, we have to go. They took us. Nyali and I we we tracking... there was a bear.. druzar.. Duzrum. The enemy, they are torturing her. I was drugged" Therean's incoherent and frantic spiel halted as he paused for thought. "How did I get here? How long have I been missing? She might already be dead!"

((Emphasis in quote added by me. Brilliant; using the light. I'd decided ahead of time that the light's curative properties, and pivotal role in my most recent recovery, would repeal (to a certain extent) the symptoms of the potion I'd been given)).

Ashenfury had the second guard pinned on his back. The Orc roared throwing spit and phlegm on his face before ramming the butt of his axe in the guard's terrified grimace repeatedly until he was unrecognizable. Eventually he slowed the brutal assault and forced his shared spirit to control and calm. As he did the wolves also ceased their corpse rending and raised both of their heads. Their usually pristine coats were now marred with blood on their maws and chests.

Bryii looked at Therean confused as she is seeing a different person. "It is alright Therean the other's went to her aid for now we need to talk". Bryii walked over to Therean and helped him back up on the chair and poured another cup of tea. Bryii nodded to her Gaurdian as he evaporated in thin air, Bryii sat across from Therean and took a sip of tea. "Therean may I ask you what do you know of your past that you can remember and have you been associating yourself with other's besides Grim?", Bryii crossed one leg over the other waiting.

"Did you know you went balistic just a couple hours ago, you even called me a bitch", Bryii chuckled lightly but her halting after remembering how he spat on her. "You called yourself Dorinthar Everflare, a magic user. May I ask you why do you hunger for magic so much? Do you even know why?".

Bryii passed two cookies to Therean on a small plate, turning away she went to go open a bottle of wine and poured herself a glass not offering to Therean.

"Therean I think either your under some kind of spell making you think your someone else or you have amnesia. I need you to think real hard whay your past is and then I am willing to help you. As long as you still follow the mandate and not attack other Grim or Horde.

Therean regarded Bryii for a moment. The others were going after Nyali, the room was locked, he had called her a bitch, Dorinthar Everflare. Therean sat, "Forgive me; I'm still feeling a bit muddled. I was captured with Nyali, one of the captors administer a potion of some sort; it blasted my mind."

Therean paused, and picked up the fresh tea pensively, "I have some explaining to do. I remember, somewhat. My memories are as the fragments of a broken vase; they are all there, I think, but it is hard to find them or regard them as a whole. Instead I have a collection of events in my mind, in no particular order, it is up to my own rational assessment to deduce the chonology of things in the past." The elf sipped at his tea, then took Bryii's gaze, "I apologise for spitting at you; I remember that. It seems to me that it occured decades ago, when I was indeed Dorinthar, but that is impossible. I was confused at the time. I'd forgotten much of the last ten years it seems. I think the light helped correct that, when you blasted me with it to disable me."

Therean noticed Bryii pique at the mention of this name, "Dorinthar Everflare. That was who I was before I became Therean. I was indeed a magic user, a Magister of high standing. The Sunwell... I was in part responsible for it's defence. Then it happened, when he came. They were overwhelming; there was so much death. Rather than suffer the fate of my men, I teleported away at the last. The cowardice of this deed chewed at me as much as the subsequent hunger for the arcane when Kael'Thas disjoined the corrupted remnants of the Sunwell. For almost a century entire I had been a warden of Quel'Danas- being in such proximity to that terrible fountainhead had made me ever the more dependent upon it's energies. I lost my sanity quicker than most. In outland, that wasn't too much of a problem. We were all mad back then- furious and vengeful, twisted and high on the essence of demons. When I returned to Quel'Thalas I descended into wretchedness."

Therean looked up, "It must have been ten years until yourself and Huntress Ryanica found me. 'Therean' was a name I made up when you asked me for one. Back then it was to protect the honour of my name from what I had become; a fearful move. Since becoming Grim I have looked to it more as a new beginning."

"As for the acuteness of my hunger, I should say that was a result of my intense proximity to the sunwell in life, and standing as a Magister of advanced arcana." Therean sighed, and ran his hands over his gaunt, scarred face, and back through his stringy white hair, "You might have heard, I am no longer a supplicant. My final test was to embrace the light of the reignited sunwell, to turn my fear of it's embrace, and master my addiction. Returning to Quel'Danas was difficult, not only for the surging power that is there, but also for the memory of my own cowardice a decade before. After a full 3 months of abstaining from magic entirely, I stepped into the light."
He looked out the window, "It was beautiful. The tremendous resevoir of holy light kissed me with the force of a feather, and cleansed my wracked mind. Though my body and mind had suffered acutely in the three months that I abstained from the arcane in my supplication, a full ten years I had abused myself as wretched. I felt that wash away. I hunger for the arcane no more- instead I have the embrace of the light. I am whole within it."

Therean made a gesture you recognise to be the invocation of a minor cantrip. Nothing came of it, where there should have been licks of violet energy there was nothing but air. Nodding, Therean added, "Look now- I am divorced entirely from arcana. Though since my final test as a supplicant I crave it no longer, a curious side affect from the mind-shattering potion administered to me seems to be a kind of arcane block. When I reach for it, nothing is there. I suppose that is a silver lining, of sorts." Looking toward the door he asked with pessimism, "I take it I am under arrest? In accepting whatsoever repercussions deemed appropriate by the Grim, I would add that now, more than ever, by the power of the light, I am a loyal and empowered implement of the mandate. Though debilitated by a foul brew, which was the cause of this upset, that has passed. Whatever the case, I stand ready."

Caraul smirked at them from the shadows. Fools.

The bear glared down at the squirming elf. His stub throbbed.
She hit him over the head with the pummel of her dagger. Daz'ul snarled as it made contact, but shook his head and opened his mouth over the elf's throat.

Nyali remained crumpled on the stone, breathing raggedly. She moaned as she rolled her head, but she didn't open her eyes. Her eyelids were strange, the low light flickered and Nika could see that the eyelids were the color of dried blood. The burns upon her rags hid the rest of the damage from first glance.
