Cult hunting
Re: Cult hunting
Ashdane frowned as she worked. The creature was not giving in easily. She looked at the heckling undead and the bored worgen beside her.
“Do you have anything? Can't you, I dunno, just take it all?”
The elf glared. “It's not that simple. Do you want it to have no more mind then a shrub?”
“I don't really care. Just do your job elf.” The worgen leaned against an iron maiden, green eyes flickering between the women.
The elf sighed and proceeded to work, placing her hands over the troll's temples. Filthy savages, all of them. Why the Masters desired her work for such useless people she did not know. She shrugged the thought away and probed. The memories were hard and painful to procure. Her impassive face hid her glee at the savage's pain. It could no longer see the names to the events. Each image was snatched from the creature's mind, to be used later. Ashdane scanned the images, the hierarchy of the Grim, a way to infiltrate the Grim's headquarters, knowledge of members the troll had once thought important. Such a savage.
“Are you finished yet elf? This is boring, I just want to play” The undead giggled. She lounged comfortably beside the cat and worgen, grinning at the elf.
“It takes time.” Ashdane sighed, they were never patient.
“We need to leave soon. Leave some of the converts here and go. The High Prophet has aquired the goblin.” The worgen growled, then muttered. “I hate waiting.”
Ashdane glared at the beasts, a ball of shadow magic gathered at her fingertips. Estella narrowed her eyes. Ashdane snarled and hurled it at the troll. Oh how she wished she could merely shut that fool dog down.
She extracted more from the troll, as the undead approached her. She grimaced at the perfumed stench.
“If this is going to take long, I'm leaving!” She announced. The lion beside the worgen growled his agreement.
Ashdane whipped her head back to glare at the two. “If you want this done right, go on, leave. I don't need you here.”
A convert entered the cell, she looked at Ashendale and knelt to her. She held out a box. Ashdane nodded to her, and returned to her business.
Lyra grumbled.
Kragg and his shieldbrother Garr stood at the door, their weapons unsheathed as they scanned for spies. After their tauren brother had failed, they were on high security. Kragg smirked at his brother, hearing the women squabbling. The naga slithered before them, but otherwise the prison was empty. They scanned the darkness for any sign of enemies.

Re: Cult hunting
Ashenfury had assembled those that were present, willing and available. The posse was small but each carried The Mandate in their hearts even if not on their tabards. The zealous fervor that lived within each was enough to overcome a deficiency in numbers. We do not fail... his thoughts were cut short by Nika mounting up.
"Mount up and follow Nika. If Leyujin makes it he will meet us there.", Ashenfury begins to yell so that Bryii and Therean can hear him from inside "Bryii, if he comes around before we are back then follow us.". With that Nika and Ashenfury nodded to one another the troupe set off at a healthy pace from The Grim Guild Halls to Duskwallow Marsh.
Nika led without relent through each terrain. She was smart to take land as anyone in flight could be seen within the bowl of Duskwallow for miles by anyone looking. This was much more concealed.

Re: Cult hunting
The flight from Orgimmar to Dustwallow Marsh was made in silence, at least for her part. Leaning low over the front of her copter, she focused on the rocky ridges of Durotar and the Barrens until the land began to flatten out, the cracked earth filled in with muddy swamp water as they reached the marshlands. As they drew closer, she altered her course to fly lower. Mindful of possible scouts that may have been posted, she kept below the cover of the treetops. Once they had reached Witch Hill she landed, cutting the engine of the copter. The rest of the journey would be made on foot. She ran through the trees, wasting no time as the group made their way to the shore. At the edge of the treeline she paused, waiting for the group to catch up before pointing out the island on the horizon. "We'll have to swim, from here.."

The jungle that blanketed Alcaz Island was thick, offering them plenty of cover as they moved through the trees. The forest opened up near the center to reveal a clearing that housed several abandoned and ramshackle looking buildings. A set of wooden stairs led the way down beneath the surface. Nika held up a hand for quiet, then slipped to the shadows and ventured below, to scout. After a few moments she appeared again, motioning for the group to quietly follow. "First wing is clear.." She mouthed.
The tunnel of the prison wing was flooded. Water lapped around their legs as they moved through the dimly lit passageway. True to her word, a hallway opened up to the right of a prison door. At first it appeared to be a dead end. A torch was mounted on the wall, causing the light to flicker on the surface of the still looking water. It ripped slightly as Nika stepped in. She took a deep breath and gestured to them, dipping below the surface.

The watery tunnel was dark and hard to navigate. Tangled roots dangled from the ceiling and walls, seeming to clutch at hair and armor as they swam past. Jagged rocks jutted out, leaving a hazardous set of obstacles for them to make their way past. Finally the passageway seemed to angle upwards, and light could be seen above the surface.

Nika swam upwards, carefully breaking the surface of the water in silence to take a soft breath. Her arms and legs tread the water slowly, making sure not to splash or make any sound to give them away. As each of them rose to the surface, they could hear voices that sounded as if they were fairly close by. Just around the corner. A peek around the wall would reveal the locked cell door, Nyali just barely visible inside. Two guards were posted near the door.

Slipping to the shadows again, Nika edged around the corner.. sneaking close enough to see inside the cell. After a handful of seconds she returned, her face even more pale that before. She held up her hands, showing six fingers to indicate six people inside the cell with Nyali, in addition to the guards outside. It was as she had feared. More people had arrived in the time she'd been gone. Hopefully Leyu'jin and possibly others would be on their way. Her eyes met Ashenfury's, waiting for his next orders.

Re: Cult hunting
Ashenfury stood silent and waited. He listened to see if he could hear anything beyond the locked door. The shadows of many danced in the torchlight in sinister ways. Dripping water could be heard echoing in the tight, damp and darkened chamber.
The soft yellow glow flickered and sputtered as if someone had walked by it. As it did so it cast a moment of light across Ashenfury's face. To all present they caught a glimpse of the large Orc grinning ear to ear. The sadistic grin showed broken teeth and a chipped tusk. His iris had a glint of crimson and the nostrils of his pig nose flared with each silent breath that moved his bulk.

Re: Cult hunting
As the Grim made their way through the forest, a giant green bear had stalked them from afar. Its steps were silent yet awkward considering it had only three legs. The tuskless bear was Daz'ul Phantomtusk and he'd been waiting patiently for the past several days to get back at what had been not only Nyali's captors, but his own as well. He kept hidden even as they descended and swam through the tunnels, he'd wait for them to attack before moving in to help.

Re: Cult hunting
Kailei flew along silently behind the others upon her winged charger. She hoped that Nyali would be alright, and she would aid in healing those that sought to rescue her. She wouldn't let her brothers and sisters fall in combat...If she had to bash a few enemy skulls in along the way she could do that too.
Despite wearing her heavy plate armor, Kailei swam through the waters with ease. Her many years of training made it simple enough, plus her armor was crafted specially for her petite frame so it was lighter than most armor. As they arrived in the flooded tunnels, and they waited for Nika to scout out the channel that lead to Nyali's cell...Kailei mused on what would happen if Nyali had given up any important information...would the Grim see fit to punish her for something not within her control...?
Anyways...she knew how to remain silent on a tactical mission and so silence is what the others got from her...she wasn't the leader here that was Ashenfury's job.

Therean was in Bryii's room with her locked up, of course he had his feet chained and one of his hands constricted. Bryii nudged Therean to wake up gently. "Therean....Therean wake up please." As she shook him he eventually came to sitting on one of her chairs close to a table. Bryii smiled at Therean when he came too her helm was off and her red hair dazzled downward. "Would you like some tea Therean?" Bryii brought over some to to Therean and herself with a tray of cookies. Pouring the tea into both of there cups she eventually sat down and took a sip.
"Therean please tell me whats wrong and about your memories."
Bryii's room was locked to no one could interfere.

Re: Cult hunting
Ashdane moved closer to the troll, clear annoyance on her face. She hesitated to touch the troll's forehead, wrinkling her nose. “your hair is as disgusting as the rest of you troll.
“Miss Moonsong.” Estella hissed. Drop your germaphobia and get to work. We want this done in as little time as possible. Understood?”
The elf's ears flicked, sighing softly. “Yes Grand Inquisitor... right away.” She brushed the troll's bangs away, getting back to work on her mind.
Nyali shrank back into the wall, her mind conjuring confused emotions. The elf applied more pressure on the troll's temples, trying to force her thoughts. “Never before have I worked with someone with such a stubborn head..”
Nyali started at the word “Inquisitor”, images of Ashenfury and Qarosimae flitted through her skull. Memories of tasks, confusing the troll.
Ashdane received the images, brows slowly furrowing. She sneered, muttering “filthy beasts” to herself...of course this wasn't out of Nyali's earshot.
Estella, assumed otherwise. “What was that, over there?” Ashdane turned her head as Nyali bared her teeth. She was granted a brief reprieve of the priestess' burrowing. She sent the image to Esta in silence, a soft smirk appearing on the her face. “Keep going.”

Re: Cult hunting
Nyali thought she smelled something familiar- a sweet, rotted scent. She could not place it. She shuddered. The Mandate, yes. The Mandate. She would follow it. What?
Ashdane continued to probe.
Ashdane saw the grim's unswerving loyalty to this "Mandate" the goal of Peace Through the Annihilation of the Alliance. Unswerving loyalty, and a zealous belief in their Truths. Nyali hissed as darkness began to shroud it from continuing along that thread.
The troll heaved painfully and snarled like an animal, she bit in Ashdane's direction.
Ashdane turned the troll's head to the right slightly, muttering in her ear. “Anything else?” With a soft smirk.
The troll heaves painfully and snarls like a beast. She bit in Ashdane's direction.
Ashdane abruptly pulled away. “UGH! YOU SQUEALING PIG!” She backhanded the troll across the face.
Nyali spits blood, an image of a bald forsaken man, sitting on a throne. In front of him a frightened Forsaken, Nika. One by one shadowed images moved. The undead screamed. The powerful undead undead remained in his throne.
The spit hit Ashdane's foot, her jaw dropping. “OH that's IT!” She turned in a huff.
Estella cleared her throat. “Uhm you're not done sweetie.” Ashdane stops, turning to glare at the human silently. Esta's eyes narrow.
The troll shuddered as her mind went blank. She began to laugh, a loud screeching, hysterical laugh.
Ashdane shot a glare back to the troll.
Estella found herself chuckling softly. "You're letting it mock you. I thought you were better than that!"
Lyra chuckled. “Maybe we should hire a -real- priest. Feed her back to the void.”
“If you're going to insult me," the elf spoke. "Then I could let he two of you handle it."
Estella's head tilted. "Rather snippy to your superiors aren't we?"
The troll continued her keening laugh, those behind the wall would hear it as it echoed through the prison.
Ashdane moved to the troll, taking her forehead and brushing the back of her head against the wall. “SILENCE!”
The laugh-screams abruptly stopped as the troll's head hung down. Unconcious.
Blood oozed from behind her head, the ice shackles were the only things that kept her upright. The water elemental burbled in annoyance.
“Well done.” Lyra drawled.
“Now look what you've done!” Estella rung out, sitting up. “You went and knocked 'er out!” Ashdane pulled away.

Re: Cult hunting
Caraul snuck into the cage, eyeing the women.
"Well then. I doubt it'll wake up for some time. I might as well go." Lyra pulls out a hearthstone. "Guard." A dragonhawk flies to guard as Lyra teleports away.
Caraul watched carefully.
Estella nods at Lyra “Take care.” She turned back to Ashdane.
I never realized how much you lack self control..." Estella shifted her weight, eyeing the troll. "You know... I've an idea. Why don't you stay with it and call me when it wakes up." She smiled widely at the elf.
“...And how long might that be?” Caraul growled.
Esta paused a moment, her head turning to the direction of the voice. "As long as it takes...whatever your name is." She waved her hand. "Your name escapes me"
"My name doesn't concern you. However, I've been sent for a status report, and to pose the question, ;Why is i taking so long?'" the Forsaken responded. His hands brushed the locked bag at his side.
"I believe it does concern me. As for status..." Her fel-green eyes locked onto the undead, transmitting the images to him.
"Hmph. Very well..." he replies once more. "If I were in your situattion, I would hurry this up."
"You cannot command me... Caraul"
"I was simply a suggestion. And not one to be taken lightly."
"And why's that?"
"there may be a little surprise waiting for you sometime soon."
"Surprise?" Her face twisted into a scowl. "Well then, do tell"
she hissed at Caraul.
"Perhaps you should just wait and see for yourself." He replied with a smirk.
"If you've got something o tell us, then tell it.."
I thought this place was hidden..." He replies, sticking closer to the shadows.
Esella stared a the spot, growling from he back of her throat. "Useless." She turned to Ashdane. "If you can do anything about this, do it -now- " She raised up her hands. "Oh no, you're free to kill yourself like you-know-who did." Her hands twitched. Felfire flickered at her fingertipps. She was about ready to strangle the elf. "Get to it..."
"Useless? Perhaps you should learn the definition of the term. I've no idea how many people are listening to this very conversation, that aren't friendly."
"You've got what you wanted, begone with you!"
"I would respectfully decline that ofer. It would appear that this place is going to be very interesting, soon. And I like interesting places"

Re: Cult hunting
Ashenfury unhooks his dual axes at the pommel. He suddenly breathes heavy and starts to salivate. The iris of both eyes begin to glow, illuminating the Orcs eye sockets with an eerie red. As dribble drips from his chin he loses any semblance of control. Holding both axes out at arm length he lets out a deep roar from his diaphragm. He rounds the corner and in his unleashed and contagious bloodlust decides to stomp the skull of a nearby skeleton before turning his ruby eyed gaze of fury to the guards.
Two howls echo off of the stone as his spirit wolves come to his side looking ravenous. Ashenfury and the wolves bowl into both guards in a single movement. Any chance of covertly approaching has been lost to rage.

Re: Cult hunting
Her jaw was set stiffly as she leaned against the damp stone wall, listening to the interrogation unfold inside the cell around the corner. The impact of Nyali being struck echoed through the passageway, and she heard the grunt of pain. Her eyes flickered darkly and she shifted uneasily. Her gaze remained on Ashenfury the whole time, waiting.. where the hell were the others?
As the conversation continued, her brow knitted while she listened. From the sounds of things.. it seemed as if the people holding Nyali had already been alerted to their presence.. somehow. She was still focused on the conversation when Ashenfury roared, springing suddenly into action. It caught her by surprise and for a split second she froze, staring as the Orc charged into the pair of guards outside the cell door. And then she was moving again. Uttering a curse beneath her breath, she scrambled to remove her lockpicking tools. As Ashenfury struggled with the guards outside, she rushed to the door and inserted the slender pick into the lock. This of couse left her completely exposed to the people inside the cell. She stared at Estella and the ones with her as her fingers deftly worked with the lock. Her body was tensed, ready to duck to a side if any bolts of magic were sent her way.
"Kailei!" She hissed. "Can you do anything about them from where you are?"
Where are Leyu'jin and Knithawk? She thought to herself.. keenly wishing more help would arrive.

The guards attack Ashenfury, not noticing the undead picking the lock. They cleave at Ashenfury and the wolves, to no avail. A wolf knocks one down, his axe skittering across the stones, hitting the gate. The orc's eyes glow red and he yells as he swipes at Ashenfury.
Estella flinched at the menacing howl, her eyes widened. Ashdane's head also snapped in the direction of the gate. "Should we leave her?"
Estella growled. "No we're taking her." She moved to the iced chains, frantically beginning to melt them with palms filled with fire.

Re: Cult hunting
Both wolves descend on the downed guard. The guard's scream makes Nika jump and drop a tool from her hand. The scream is cut off into a gurgle as the wolves finish their work. Cracking and tearing were all that could be heard from the blur of action on top of the guard.
Re: Cult hunting
The other guard leaps onto Nika, screaming, axe raised high. The human mage started to open a portal to another cave.
Estella continued to melt the ice, concern making itself obvious on her face.
Ashdane looked up and watched the scene outside. She looked aside to the mage. "You there! we're retreating."
The mage snarled. "What do you think I'm doing? Get in!"
Ashdane moved to the portal, her head whipping over her shoulder with her mouth hung open, as if to speak. She hesitated for a moment. "Miss Whittington-"
