A dangerous beauty.

Unread post by Hokuto »

The Wyvern's Tail was empty of patrons when she arrived. Only Gravy, the barman, was there for any company. The candles flickered gently as she strode into the bar, many of them burning on the last bits of wick they had. She leaned up against the bar, seeing as there are usually no seats near it anyway, and simply watched as Gravy finished cleaning a few stray tankards.

"Hello dere," he greeted her, "What can ah get fo' a beauty like yahself, tahnight?"

She smiled at the troll, not wanting to disappoint him by ignoring his attempt at a compliment. Though, clad almost fully in plate armor, a bloody rust red lined with bronze, with dragon motifs etched here and there and worked into the metal, he may have been making sure not to anger her. She cleared that though aside when she concluded to herself that he most likely didn't recognize her to begin with. Gravy knew all of his customers faces. So a greeting without a name only meant he thought she was someone new.

"No, not right now, thank you," she said, her voice like cool silk, "I don't mean to be rude, I'm just waiting for some old friends."

Gravy nodded and went back to tending to his bar. As the woman waited, she pulled out what looked to be a rosary and started twirling it between her fingers.

As if from thin air, Inzema appeared, sticking his head over the edge of the second floor balcony. His goggles scanned the newcomer in the bar, did not immediately match her with filed auras, though Ikai flagged it as bearing similarities to several filed auras and would require further scanning. Inzema didn't care to wait, however, and dropped down from the balcony to land silently behind Hokuto. He drapes an arm over her armored shoulder and smiles at her. "Hey baby, you ever done a deader before?"

She was a bit surprised when Inzema didn't recognize her, though she kept that to herself and didn't let it show. She wasn't surprised by his initial greeting. Funnily enough, it was the exact same way he had greeted her when they first met. She decided she would play along for the time being til others arrived. Only so much though.

"Haven't had the pleasure... yet," she purred at him.

She didn't look at him directly, just in case her eyes gave her away. Her hair, now blonde in color covered her face just enough to where she could smile slyly without showing too much.

"I have yet to find anyone who is... capable... enough."

She slumped her shoulders slightly pretending to be saddened by the thought.

Inzema ignored the prompting by Ikai that the vocal patterns had been matched to a file. He also ignored the prompting that the file had been updated and matched based on temporal anomalies and her hearthstone somewhere on her person to a specific person. He was having fun.

"Capable enough? Sssoundsss like it'sss your lucky day! Name'sss Inzema, and if I don't leave you ssscreaming for more, then I am not dead."

She smiled slyly again at Inzema. She was enjoying toying with him. Still she kept turned away so he couldn't see her face completely.

"A man should buy a lady a drink before he starts talking like that," she replied to his boast, "It's only polite after all."

She leaned slightly towards him, goading him on. She also wondered if anyone else would be showing up.

Inzema smiled and removed his arm from Hokuto's shoulder. He started digging about in one of his many pockets.

"I got sssomething better than what Gravy ssservesss, no offenssse, Gravy."

He finally pulls a metal flask and two mugs from a pocket that surely couldn't have contained them all and showed no change in its size after their removal. He popped the top on the flask and poured a bit of a bubbling green fluid into both mugs, careful not to spill any of it, then offered one to Hokuto.

"My own ssspesssial brew."

*Some time later...*

Hokuto lay in one of the hammocks in the wyverns tail, after everyone had cleared out and it closed up for the morning hours. As she dozed off and on, she thought of what might happen when some of the others found out she had returned. So far, Ashenfury had been the first to find out, though he hadn't said anything to her. Then Inzema, though she instigated that one. Then Bryii, and Ryanica. As well as one of the newer warbringers, his name lost to her as she started falling asleep. She laughed inwardly and gave a small smile to nobody at the thought of how Leyu'jin might react.

'Ha, he might just swing that big axe of his at me, if he still has it,' she thought.

The troll warrior walked into the Wyvern's Tail, his axe haft resting across one shoulderplate casually. Leyu'jin swung the blade off his shoulder to rest the point on the floor, swiveling into a nearby chair across from the hammock containing a sleeping sin'dorei death knight. Tapping the axe blade against the ground, he stared morosely at the elf. So, Hokuto's back, the troll thought to himself. While the elf had thought to perhaps make some kind of surprise entrance, now that half of Leyu'jin's close associates knew of her return, it had been hard for the troll not to hear of it. The troll stopped fidgeting with his axe and rested his back against the chair. Wondah when she gonna wake up.

Her ears perked as she woke up. There was someone sitting across from her. And unfortunately for Hokuto, the watcher had a slight advantage seeing as Hokuto didn't have her weapon.

'Well... this is going to be interesting..,' she thought to herself, 'What the hell... I'll risk it.'

As quickly as she could, and roughly in one fluid motion, the blood elf rolled from her hammock, grabbed hold of the large, wooden table next to her and hefted it into the air above her and the watcher, ready to bring it down on his head.

The troll warrior idly twirls his axe so the blade faces upwards, then plants the weapon's haft against the ground, so it would split the table if it was brought down. Nodding casually at the Sin'dorei death knight, Leyu'jin laconically drawls, "'ey Hokuto. Long time no see."

Hokuto gave Leyu'jin a grin, still holding the table over her head, "Hey, yourself."

She set the table down and relaxed back into her hammock, sitting though instead of laying. She still didn't know the trolls' intentions. Even though he was as relaxed as she was, she knew he was more than capable of being battle ready at a moments notice. She propped her feet up onto the table.

"So what brings you here?" she inquired, an eyebrow raised.

"'eard joo wuz back, wuz wonderin' wut da hell 'appened," the troll remarked casually. Leyu'jin called to Gravy, who had been sweating just slightly while Hokuto had grabbed the table. "'ey mon, two Bitter Cactus Cidahs please, righ' down 'ere." The warrior patted the table with a grin.

Leyu took a deep draw from his mug, then wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "Ah know Grim come an' go; we all got our own projects we hav goin' sumtimes. Dat sed, dinna 'ear joo vanish, donna know where joo went. Now dat joo back, ah wanted da lowdown."

Hokuto took the mug of cactus liquor and downed it quickly. Looking down into the empty mug she sighed, and then began explaining her absence.

"Well... I can tell you what didn't happen..," she started, "A whole lot of nothing."

She filled the troll in on how she had gone back to Northrend. Back to Icecrown Citadel. She explained her search for her roots, and the strange little shadow bird that guided her there. And she showed him a small pendant that she found while there. Something about it seemed familiar to her. But it was only a faint feeling. She decided to keep the pendant and return to civilization to continue her search.

"That's about it. Anything else you want to know, or were you planning on interrogating me more?" she finished with a wink.

"Sounded kinda borin'," the troll replied with an exaggerated yawn. His smile betrayed his jest. His eyes drifted back to the pendant with interest. "So, joo tink dat mighta belonged ta ya in a past life?" Not waiting for an answer, he called over Gravy again to refill the mugs.

"Well, ah glad joo found sumting aboot joo past. Forsaken be unmoored as it is, ah wouldna' wish joo floatin' on da jetsam o' da world forevah." Leyu'jin thanked Gravy as the bartender refilled the cups, then took an eloquent sip. "Nah, I'm dun wit' da 'interrogation'. Tings hav changed since joo wuz gone, Hokuto. Deathwing be dun, an' dat means der noting standin' in da way between us an' da blue badges. Main ting ah need ta know be, joo redy ta serve da Mandate agin? Cuz ah'm sho we be needin' joo in da months ta come. Aginst da Alliance, o' otha hostile forces, tings only gonna heat up."

Hokuto downed her second mug of the tart brew. With a grin that showed a few more sharp teeth than usual she answered the troll.

"I serve the mandate, Irredeemable," she said, "Peace through annihilation."
