Grims, though understandably at very late notice, I took it upon myself to post this message here lest any Grim chance upon it before midnight.
As you know, the New Year is upon us- the gibbering mad have said that it shall be an apocalyptic year, perhaps the last that shall ever pass. Perhaps they are right. Be that as it may, let us then bring apocalyptic tidings to Stormwind. Unease and agitation has spread throughout Stormwind, and it has come to arise that the legions of Orgrimmar thirst for blood. Fifteen minutes short of midnight, the Horde shall unleash it's fury and visit it upon Stormwind- so the word about town goes.
Any Grim who hears these words, from this notice, or elsewhere amongst the denizens of Orgrimmar; the mandate calls you. This night, all of the Horde serves the mandate, this night we will be joined in vengeful destruction of the scourge of peace. Central to the planning of this Strike is a Death Knight, Altherion. Speak to him, or your Grim comrades, for attuning and breifing.
PEACE THROUGH ANNIHILATION
((A rather large NYE raid on Stormwind is fermenting. Altherion, as well as Ugraz had a bit to do with the earlier formations of it, but after a poorly conceived raid on Org half an hour ago, it has snowballed into something much larger. I put this here in case any offline Grims might happen upon it before midnights. Pics to come. Cheers))
Let us show the Alliance how we welcome the new year.
Re: Let us show the Alliance how we welcome the new year.
(( How did this turn out? ))
Re: Let us show the Alliance how we welcome the new year.
Two strike forces were made. One of 40 soldiers, and one of 25, comprised of volunteers from Orgrimmar. I was in the latter force.

We were summoned to the green before Stormwind Keep fifteen minutes before the clock struck midnight...

...and immediately rushed the fortress.

We overwhelmed their pithy defences...

...and split into two groups. One struck forth after the human King Varian Wrynn, the other occupied a main chamber to draw incoming Alliance counter-attacks.

Soon enough, Alliance forces ceased reeling from the surprise attack, and reinforcements arrived.

A furious battle ensued, escalating in scope and brutality as more and more Stormwind defenders were mobilised.

Outnumbered, the Horde warriors resisted the overwhelming counter-attack for over 10 minutes, though losses were heavy.

At the last, the Alliance defenders overpowered the invaders, and secured the Keep. Varian Wrynn survived the onslaught.

The Horde forces withdrew, though a small contingent of Alliance scouts intercepted us, the withdrawal proceeded unhindered.

The invasion force regrouped, and a new target was picked for a lightning return strike to unbalance the defenders in Stormwind Keep.

From above we descended, borne by the wind, into our new target; Stormwind central bank. Therein we hoped to catch many of the cowardly and unprepared warriors who neglected to defend the Keep.

The forces rushed into the bank, but were met with surprisingly stiff resistance.

Once the main hall of the bank was cleared, the invaders poured into the vault, which had been carelessly left open.

The defenders followed soon after, and the Bank vault shook with violence.

Again, the Horde invaders held out against the overwhelming Alliance counter-attack for a full 10 minutes. At last, though, they were defeated.

Repelled, the Invaders withdrew from Stormwind fifteen minutes after the clock struck midnight. Celebrations cheering the defenders, and the new year rose all over Stormwind.

Though Stormwind and it's King still stood, the Horde Invaders returned to Orgrimmar with the consolation that they had sent a bold message to the Alliance for the year to come. Though they may live to see another year, they best sleep with their blades by their beds, for there is no location too defended, too secure, to be safe from a Horde onslaught.
