Gorzug

Unread post by Gorzug »

(IC) What name or title do you go by? Gorzug.

Mother of Gorzug said it is from our word "Gor'Zug" meaning "Her Axe". She say Gorzug live to protect family, friends and freedom -- just like her axe.
-

(IC) What is your gender and race?

Male Orc. Some say brown-skin Orcs are from Nagrand, but Gorzug from North Barrens. Gorzug not know where Nagrand is.
-

(IC) What is your class in life? Why did you choose to follow this class?

Gorzug is Protection Warrior. Gorzug not smart to understand magics or pets, but Gorzug good with axe and shield. Gorzug respects hardy fighters, wants to be like mighty warriors of old. Bring respect to Horde and death to Alliance. Gorzug seek to live up to his name.
-

(IC) How many "Honorable" Kills do the Battlemasters currently have recorded for you?

Sadly, none yet.

Gorzug is young. Training hard to be great warrior, but not interested in war games playing with flags for points. Gorzug will kill as opportunity allows. Gorzug looks forward to making opportunities happen.
-

(IC) What drives you in life? How would the Grim benefit from having you among its ranks?

Gorzug hear many stories about Grim while growing up and wants much to join such a militia. Gorzug pledges loyalty, axe and his life to help Grim in any way needed. Gorzug hope to learn from great warriors of The Grim and one day maybe lead his own raids upon the Alliance. Maybe Gorzug learn well and teach other young warriors someday.
-

(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?

Gorzug grow up near Southfury River, southwest of Orgrimmar. Before his Om'riggor, Gorzug learn skinning from mother. From this, Gorzug learn where to hit opponents to make big hurt. Gorzug know he must be strong to fight well and trains by breaking rocks. Selling metal and skins pays for things Gorzug need, like food and repairs.
-

(IC) What are your thoughts of the new direction the Horde has taken since the Cataclysm?

Gorzug not like politics. Politicians make many lies to each other for their own purposes. One cannot negotiate from position of weakness. Talkers have no power without an army. Much talk make no changes -- action is necessary. Gorzug job as warrior is to provide power and leverage needed to win. Peace only happen when all enemies are vanquished.
-

(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members. What does that mean to you?

The simple answer is: I am Gorzug, an Orc Warrior from the Northern Barrens.

I do not roleplay as an "event" or as some scripted theatrical drama played out on a stage in a tavern. I don't go out of my way or make some special effort to roleplay. I just be myself: I am Gorzug -- Orc Warrior.
-

(OOC) The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by a structure with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies. Does this definition conflict with how you want to play your character? If it does, how do you expect to handle the conflict with other members?

I have been playing on this server since 2009 (mostly Alliance side) and have searched for a guild EXACTLY like this. I have tried a few times to form one on my own, but seemed unable to find like-minded roleplayers. Players were either "event/drama" oriented roleplayers with no interest in world PvP, or more interested in discussing their Battleground/Arena gear/dps ratings. (Why do roleplayers need a damage meter?)

My interest is in a group of players who understand what roleplay really is and are interested in full immersion into the battle between Horde and Alliance. That means there is no OOC once I login, with a few exceptions when it is unavoidable. (Such as discussing interface addons or technical issues.) I intend to set a good example that can be followed.

-

(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line? Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?

Hail the Great Gary! I began playing desktop D&D (with dice) in the 1980s. I was in the military at the time, so I didn't always get to stick with it the way I wanted to. I got hooked on Daggerfall (Elder Scrolls) as my first computer RPG. In 2008, I started playing WoW, (my first MMORPG), first on The Scryers realm until I learned how to play. In 2009, I started fresh on Twisting Nether in search of a good RP-PvP experience. I love the immersion of RP and the "realistic" danger of RP-PvP. I consider myself experienced at RP, but I still have some bad habits I need to unlearn: LOL (for example).
-

(OOC) Is this character a server-transfer or has it been renamed recently? If so, what was your previous server and/or in-game name?

Gorzug is a new Horde character. I had a (Level 42) Orc Rogue a few years ago, but he is long gone.

Gorzug is my new "main".
-

(OOC) What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?

As explained above, I am looking for full-immersion RP that focuses on world PvP. From everything I read and hear about The Grim, this is the place for me. I have joined other guilds that sounded good on their website, but fell short in reality (not doing what they claim they do). I am looking for like-minded players. I think The Grim is heavy RP enough, and ruthlessly vicious enough for what I want to be a part of.

I have never played a warrior before, so I am learning how to tank. I am seeking training and guidance in that area, plus I am learning to look at the world from the Horde point of view (both gameplay and RP). I hope to find a mentor in The Grim.
-

(OOC) When joining the Grim, each new applicant will be matched up with someone to help them get into the swing of being Grim. In order to coordinate this, we will need to have a fair approximation of your play schedule. Please give a general outline below, OR if you wish to keep it private, send a PM to Qarosimae.

I am usually online every day from around noon to 6:00PM server time. Not only is this my real-life time, but it works from an RP standpoint too. In the mornings, I do my household chores (laundry, shopping, etc.) and afternoons I am out about town, training, leveling or whatever. In the evenings, I retire to my hut. I sleep at night, so it is highly unlikely that I am out after dark.
-

(OOC) Please provide an armory link to your character for verification.

(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?

One more thing that tells me that The Grim is the home I am looking for. My signature for forum posts has always been a quote from General George S. Patton:

"Nobody ever won a war by dying for their country. The objective is to make the other poor bastard die for his."

Or in other words: "Peace through Annihilation."
