Blizzcon 2011

Unread post by Kazthul »

So the old shindig is a mere two months away, just wondering if anybody else will be attending this year.

Entirely too far for me... I'm just a poor wee Canadian, roaming the wilderness with my case of Blue and my trusty polar bear "Bacon".

Hey, it's Kazthul. There he is.

I am not going - and I doubt I will be going to any in the future. They are becoming a huge cattle call and drifting away from something enjoyable. If I wanted to wait in lines, I would of stayed in the Navy. If I wanted people to try and sell me stuff - I'll go to the mall and look at the kiosk people.

I've been here, lurking in the shadows, posting once in a blue moon. Not sure if I'll ever drift back to WoW or not, maybe they'll do something silly like give me beta access again for the next expansion to con me into playing again.... for a little while.

Pretty pumped about D3 though.

I hear you about the lines and all Abric, last year was a lot like that, I didn't go to any of the stupid booths that were selling stuff, but I went to all the panels I could and played as much D3 as I could.

I'd love to go to Blizzcon this year, however cash and vacation time were spent elsewhere. Have fun though!

I would also love to attend but my current job does offer time to go =O. But I will be watching it online...actually very much looking forward to it.

I would have enjoyed blizzcon before it got as big as it is. Like E3 once it went too mainstream it stopped looking fun.

Anyone on the live stream that can feed us updates? I got three hours to kill here at the office before I can go get drunk.

MISTS OF PANDARIA is real.

Pandarians will be playable; new class of Monk.

No huge big bad villian. "War itself" according to Metzen. Horde vs Alliance, as they swarm into the new lands.

They did not state how this will work in terms of faction, but Metzen is going to be talking with the announcers soon.

No D3 release date (lame). New cinematic shown.

D3 will be free for WoW subscribers who sign up for the annual pass. They said you sign up for a year, but it does break into 12 monthly payments (interesting). In addition to getting D3 for free, you also get a fancy mount: Tyrael's Charger.

Seems if you want the CE for D3 though, you still will need to buy that. It'll come with a WoW pet, SC2 item and the typical awesome shit Blizz throws in (plus a Diablo Soulstone thumbdrive).

Further explanation: Metzen says that you pick your faction during the low level process, rather than at the beginning.

Coy might get race changed into a panda... if they can be druids. /nod
