Simple Journal Keeping

Unread post by Zalyna »

The young Blood Elf priest moved a bit away from the outpost in the Northern Barrens while still keeping its residents within sight. She found an ideal spot on some nearby rocks and promptly sat. She smiled as her constant companion, a spring rabbit, jumped into her lap. She still remembered when the two had first crossed paths, during Noblegarden, and the rabbit had followed her ever since. Zalyna took out a simple adorned journal and quill from her pack. Her pale fingers traced the embroidered journal symbol on its front - a faint symbol of the Horde. It was probably one of her most prized possessions, the first item she had bought on her first trip to Orgrimmar.

Zalyna opened the book to its first page. She had yet to fill it in. She paused, her eyes wandering out over the Barrens. What would she write about? Should she write about her thoughts? Her achievements? More thoughts crossed her mind before she finally set pen to paper.

I am known as Zalyna. Though I am young in my skills and fresh to Azeroth, I am striving to learn at every instance and become an important role within the honorable Horde. The Grim has kindly taken me under its wing. I will not let them down, and I will grow in level to become a formidable foe to the Alliance - I will not disappoint. This is my journey...
-Peace through Annihalation.

Satisfied with her first entry, she quickly flipped to the next page. Then Zalyna began penning in her adventures from that day while there was still daylight.

Today most of my energies were spent keeping a few different groups alive; some were questers sent out on a specific task while others were merely treasure hunters. The former were at least helpful, but the latter proved to be more stressful than I had anticipated...depleting much of my mana. After many trips of replenishing my power, I finally managed to leave and head back to Orgrimmar.

There I rested, until I noticed a young orc boy distressed by something. Upon inquiring, I discovered he had lost some balloons to the wind. My heart went out for the boy, and I couldn't refuse so I traversed the city in search of the red balloons. It took longer than I had expected but I managed to find them all. The sheer look of joy on the boy's face was reward enough, but he insisted on giving me a Horde balloon.

From there I left deciding to work on my crafting, and gather some ore. I was told Ashenvale would have what I need. Unfortunately the day's earlier events have taken its toll, and myself and my mount were feeling the effects. So we took up camp at Nozzlepot's Outpost for the night. I plan on stopping by the Rampart and purchasing some battle gear if I'm able to.

Zalyna made a face as she read her entry. It wasn't perfect, but for now it would have to do, she could feel her body grow sleepier by the minute. She paused letting the ink dry before closing her journal and placing everything back in her bags. Then with a great effort she stood and headed back to the small inn, if one would call it that ready for a night's rest.

Feeling unusually fatigued, Zalyna dediced to stay a few extra nights at the inn. She rested well before heading into Ashenvale, but was quickly sidetracked with a call to arms in Arathi Basin.
