i wonder if it might be what prompted the sudden multiple crashes that ryanica suffered? (though patch days are always terrible for lag and crashes for most of the population regardless of any particular issues)
i have vista 64 bit and 6 gigs of ram and my crashes only happened in really dense areas with lots of data

Anaie also had this crash last night, and he's got like 8gigs in his comp. One of the blue posts mentioned that it was happening with 64bit OS.

Ryanica has been crashing since way before this patch. Heh, it ain't the patch!

So far this has only happened to me in Dalaran. I'm on 64bit as well.
Once at the North Bank with EVERYONE and their dog around, once at Krasus' Landing with the same amount of people, and the most recent one in the Violet Citadel with nobody around but one AFK person.
