Borghul

Unread post by Awatu »

(IC) What name or title do you go by?
      - My name's Bor'ghul Flamespeaker.

(IC) What is your gender and race?
      - I'm a male Orc

(IC) What is your class in life?  Why did you choose to follow this class?
      - When I was a wee youngun' on Draenor, I began trainin' in the Warlock magics as we got ready fer war. I reckon bein' in the Shadowmoon Clan s'what led to that. Everyone else was doin' it, so I wasn' gonna raise a fuss 'bout it.

(IC) How would you describe yourself?
      - Well, I'm old fer an Orc, I reckon. Don' really give a damn about much anymore, 'cept goin' out the way I came in, which is fightin'!

(IC) How many "Honorable" Kills do the Battlemasters currently have recorded for you?
      - Er, only four hundred and sixty nine, according to the Battlemaster records. Though, I was in three wars, son. An' those were before they started takin' count!

(IC) What drives you in life?  How would the Grim benefit from having you among its ranks?
      - I pretty much do what needs doin'. I'm not one to be scared off by big folk with big mouths. Naw, not scared of them one bit. But I do take orders very well. Been doin' that fer the longest time, so I ain't gonna cause no problems among the ranks. An' besides, ya can't have too many old veterans that know their stuff 'bout war an' tactics who can rain fire down on the enemy.

(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
      - A lot. Been all over the damn place, really. Though, in more recent years, I been workin' mostly fer the Horde. Only recently did I join The Outriders after speakin' with a few of theirs.

(IC) What are your thoughts on the pact between the Alliance and the Warchief Thrall?
      - Coulda fooled me. Really, barely seems like there's a pact at all. So, unless there are actual steps taken to maintain this pact, then there ain't no pact.

(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members.  What does that mean to you?
      - This means that a player is expected to remain In Character in all public chat channels, (/say, /yell, /gchat, etc.) and only have Out Of Character conversations in permitted chat channels (/whisper, /OOCchat, etc.). "Roleplayers" who use parenthesis in these public channels to denote an OOC remark irritate the fire out of me. However, with a new roleplayer, I'm perfectly content with being patient and understanding with them and showing them the ropes in proper RP etiquette.

(OOC)  The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by structure and a defined chain of command with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies.  How does your character's personality and storyline follow the Grim Mandate?  Is there any conflict between how you want to play your character and the theme of the Grim?  If so, what do you expect out of joining us?
      - I would not imagine so, no. If anything, Bor'ghul is a crotchety old Orc who would yell at the kids on his yard while waving his cane in the air, then quickly collapsing into a coughing-wheezing pile as he clutches his heart. I like to have fun with the character being a slightly-senile old coot and his exaggerated stories (on the rare occasions that he's been asked to tell them).  He's not mean, but he's definitely not nice. I do not foresee any issues with the character following The Mandate.

(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line?  Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
      - I tend to consider myself an above-average roleplayer, if anything. I'm no professional, but I've come a long way since I began. I've been familiar with the concept of roleplaying for many years, though I've only been playing WoW for about 3.5 years. Luckily, most of that time has been spent roleplaying. I have experience with being an Officer of a solid RP guild, and the many other responsibilities that come with it.

(OOC) Do you have any previous WoW experience?  (PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Different Servers, Different Guilds, Different Factions, etc.)
      - I began playing at the beginning of Burning Crusade and joined an RP guild several months after that. During BC, I participated mostly in PvP battlegrounds and arenas, though I made a few forays into dungeons such as Karazhan and Magtheridon's Lair. It wasn't until Warth of the Lich King that I entered the PvE aspect of the game on a heavy level. As such, I believe I have a pretty balanced play-style between PvE and PvP, all covered in a delicious layer of RP, all on the Twisting Nether server.

(OOC) Is this character a server-transfer or has it been renamed recently?
      - This character was transferred to my account from the account of a friend who no longer played that account. The name is not original, and I do not recall what the original name may have been. This took place nearly ten months ago, I think.

(OOC)  What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
      - I am quite familiar with The Grim through personal experience and a few friends. I respect this guild a great deal, and I have a genuine interest in becoming a part of it. I wish to join a guild that seems to have less of the crazy illiterate people common throughout the game (and overrunning the server) and more of just the standard crazy people so that I can play with a group of like-minded and respectable players.

(OOC)  When joining the Grim, each new applicant will be matched up with someone to help them get into the swing of being Grim.  In order to coordinate this, we will need to have a fair approximation of your play schedule.  Please give a general outline below, OR if you wish to keep it private, send a PM to Aquizit.
      - My schedule is pretty open, at the moment. Sunday evenings tend to be bad for me, however.

(OOC) Please provide an armory link to your character for verification.

(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?
      - ((OOC: Peace Through Annihilation sounds like it could be a good movie. ;) ))

Well spake, although I fear your manner of speech is somewhat difficult to understand.
Nevertheless, I do look forward to fighting alongside you, should you be admitted.
