43. I thought for sure I typed one word and it didn't accept it. Sometimes I forget those words are even words we use them so much.

Re: 100 most common words in the english language

me either...

If the people raise a great howl against my barbarity and cruelty, I will answer that war is war, and not popularity seeking.
Re: 100 most common words in the english language
49 out of 100. Not bad since I was shooting for at least 50.
Silly Rock no trick Kaz.

Never finished it. Got distracted by work. I suspect that something in the 25-30 range would have been the result.

Re: 100 most common words in the english language
34 out of 100
When you finish and see all the words you get that "D'oh!" face for all the easy ones you couldn't remember.

72
It should be noted that many years ago however I studied these in a class so I had large groups of them freshly at the ready AND I knew when the page was fucking up... I entered a few words that didn't register and I KNEW they were there so I entered them a few times and they eventually worked... I reckon if I hadn't repeated those words I knew to be there, I probably would have scored about 60.
**Edit**
Hi hi... this has sparked a rather convoluted stroll down memory lane... I can't remember for the life of me how it all went but we had to write a poem (this was an actual poetry class so nothing actually had to rhyme) and we had to write using only those words, not allowed to repeat any and not allowed to modify them by adding an S anywhere and no more than ten words per line...
I remember mine was about 5 lines long... if I could remember the whole thing I'd be guaranteed a 50 every time...
I DO remember, and bear with me in light of the cheese and the rather extreme limitations imposed on us at the time...
I can write this word for you but no other.
People know and one day when they come to call,
We will make them see ... blah blah blah...don't recall the rest...
Thanks Narc, that made me chuckle...

Re: 100 most common words in the english language
100.
But I cheated. I just looked at the code on the page and downloaded their wordlist and typed in the words. Does that count?
When I did it fairly I only got 46 or so, so I figure I should get credit for lateral thinking. Right?
Hey! If Bloodscream gets to use his knowledge of english I don't see why I can't use my knowledge.
