They did point out this is an extremely long way off.  Anyone remember siege engines on the original wow packaging, took 2 expansions to get!

And it will probably be more expensive than a traditional transfer and it won't  work as well on pvp servers cause you can't have two different factions on the same pvp server.

I don't see how you can compare wow to the Sims though.  I don't get to build crazy houses, lock Sims in rooms with no doors so their ghost haunts my other inhabitants nor do I get to watch my wow character try and cook and burn their house down around them either.

The idea of playing Thrysta as a living, breathing human is...intriguing, if only as a passing thought.
I had a good time roleplaying during the CoT dungeon runs that disguised Forsaken as humans.

To venture a guess, I'd say they'll implement either a signifcant fee and/or some sort of limitation
on switching back and forth.  Perhaps even a "one and done" rule, to prevent shenanigans.

On a more applicable note, bringing my gnome rogue over to The Grim would be nice, but
I'm not holding my breath for this.

$30 per.  60 days per switch. No problems going back. You can use this as a long and expensive route to race change until they introduce that feature. Prolly not too long off.

No. PvP realms no longer possess any faction-based restrictions. You may now play Horde and Alliance characters on any realm you wish



Those two jumped out at me, so you can do a rich mans race change if you want, but it'll take 60 days. Also Horde and Alliance on same server, super lame.

That won't be a problem, Hektar.  Blizzard has said they plan on restricting race changes on Goblins and Worgens for at least a while after Cataclysm is released.

They also said something about being uncomfortable with the first 85 NE mage being a race change - so I am guessing a 2 week or 1 month moratorium. Plenty of time for server firsts, hell 1 week is prolly enough.

I think they will wait till somone hits 85 with that race before you can xfer a char to that.
