They said they will most likely not allow you to change your character into a gobbo or worgen, or roll DKs of either until after a period of time.
Silly Rock no trick Kaz.
Re: Cataclysm - SPOILER ALERT - BLIZZCON CONFIRMED
I'm giddy about this.
I think, for the Grim, the Guild Advancement system is going to be fascinating.
With the whole game world changing along with the inclusion of two new races, there will be a glut of new toons.
This new system will give new/rerolling guild members a feeling of contribution and teamwork that they've never had before.
Maxed characters and leveling ones alike will have a sense of accomplishment for their guild.
Plus, I can finally have the Tauren Priest I always wanted.

Re: Cataclysm - SPOILER ALERT - BLIZZCON CONFIRMED
Looks like they are addressing a lot of the reasons why I lost interest in WoW.
The Guild leveling system, the spells ranks going away, and a few other things seem to be 'borrowed' from WAR. I thought WAR did a good job in those areas, and I hope Blizz gets it right.
I hope they stick to what they're selling, because it looks damn good at this point.
Good enough that I'll probably be parking my space ship soon.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.
Re: Cataclysm - SPOILER ALERT - BLIZZCON CONFIRMED
Guild advancement is going to be great for our guild. Making all content 10 man-able made it easier for guilds to fracture. This is going to be a correcting measure that makes makes it better to unite. We are certainly a guild that could benefit from this. We need to ensure we are cultivating an atmosphere of unity for when this happens so that we can cheerfully absorb the soon to be desperate masses of Rpers in guilds like "The House of Noble Wankers" and "Ponytail Yankers Inc." ext...

Re: Cataclysm - SPOILER ALERT - BLIZZCON CONFIRMED
This is really important to consider--in essence, BMR's only reason for existence after these changes will be because we don't want "guild bloat" from people like Krin and Grainger who have a butt-load of 80s. But that seems like a secondary concern when they're contributing to the guild in a ton of ways just by having those 80s. Like Kaz mentioned earlier, we may want to think about how our BMR recruitment and revamp is going to counteract these guild advancement goals in Cataclysm.Thrysta wrote:

Re: Cataclysm - SPOILER ALERT - BLIZZCON CONFIRMED
Hey! I only have 3 80s. I could have more if I ever got over this funk I am in. We should absorb BMR and let our various alts buff up the Grim. Just create a new rank for all the BMR alts so people know in the Grim who they are.

I am *totally* looking forward to Thrysta coming back and continuing to mock my pvp-noobitude. ATM the only mocking I get is PvE aggro-deaths and it feels quite unbalanced. Guild levelling is cool, four kinds of character advancement is cool ( level/talent/mastery/PoT), world lore advancing and revisiting is cool, warlock soulshards look to be *really* cool (( finally something to actually do when Abric or Grainger or Quiz tell me to blow my cooldowns )) although it is a bit sad that they won't really be shards of souls any more. All in all, this really looks more like WoW 2.0 than the previous two expansions. My only complaint is that they didn't take my "worgen and goblin should be available to both factions" suggestion.

i think priests should be given to the orcs. as it stands now, all they have is shaman for healing and Tauren have every single healing class now (or will). even things out a bit, give the orcs some love.Thrysta wrote: Plus, I can finally have the Tauren Priest I always wanted.
i, of course, will be exploring the cataclysm with a troll druid.

Oh, I'll be back well before the expansion, just not likely with Thrysta as my main.Greebo wrote: I am *totally* looking forward to Thrysta coming back and continuing to mock my pvp-noobitude.
I had a love affair going with the Shaman class that was not fully sated before I had to go on hiatus.
That, and the prospect upon expansion of having a male priest with a physique that is a bit more...me,
is awfully appealing.
The other thing to consider are the Worgen, for the Alliance.
I'm hoping to see a "Blood Elf Effect", where a large number of folks re-roll and jump to that racial choice.
This will hopefully result in the formation of some interesting, emo-filled Alliance RP werewolf-porn guilds for
The Grim to utterly wreck.
I am not insinuating that Blood elf players secretly like emo and werewolf porn.
I am just insinuating that I hate you.
Oh, and Rated Battlegrounds? I hate the Arena. I love the BG's.
This is making me happy. I might even smile.
Re: Cataclysm - SPOILER ALERT - BLIZZCON CONFIRMED
Rated Bg's will be the awesome. Not only that but Guild Arena Teams and Guild BG's Teams are going to offer credit to Guild leveling. I imagine the same restriction to raiding will apply (%75) of the group will have to be from your guild to get credit ext.

My first thought to... um with less vehemence. Every halfbreed werewolf wannabe's dream come true.Thrysta wrote: I am just insinuating that I hate you.

I hope that the less serious blood elf roleplayers (read: ERPers) are huge Twilight fans and just can't resist rolling a werewolf.

that sounds nice. There will also be Guild Achievements and Guild Heirlooms. Heirloom recipes can be purchased, allowing anyone of that profession within the guild to craft the item. If a person with one of those items leaves the guild, the item is put back in the guild bank.

With all of this, the one thing I really took from Blizzcon was this:
Chris Metzen will always, always look like a d-bag so long as he wears sunglasses inside.
