I've been eagerly awaiting their arrival for the past couple of days and now that i've had some time to play around with them i think I'm ready to let people know my opinion. I'll start off by saying if you are thinking of picking these up strictly for playing WoW, Don't. I have a large collection of games that work well with the setup and i have found that FPS games seem to be where these things really shine. With that said these are the WoW forums and my review will focus on how the glasses work with WoW.

The Good:

I really enjoy the depth that these glasses bring to the images in the game and the ability to adjust how deep you like the effect is very beneficial as some people may find certain depth levels to be uncomfortable. It's very easy to set up and the effect can be enabled and disabled with one button press.

The Bad:

The land of 3d stereoscopic vision is not all fairytales and rainbows. It does have its drawbacks, one of which is the positioning of the UI and the cursor you use to click things in the game world. Picture if you will the default blizzard UI, (I know it hurts but just go with it). It takes up a great deal of real estate on the screen if you are using all the action bars and i found this to be a huge problem. When they are at the very front of the screen and the gameplay is a fair bit "deeper" into the screen, instead of simply being able to glance at your action bars i found i had to refocus my eyes each time i switched between looking at gameplay and looking at chat or my bars. It made for a great deal of eye strain. Secondly, when the cursor is at the "Front" of the image and you are trying to click something in the game like an enemy it feels very strange because what you're clicking seems deeper than what you are clicking it with.

The Strange:

This may be an issue with the way i have my monitor calibrated but i feel like its worth a mention anyway. When running in 3d mode for whatever reason i was unable to see the global cooldown indicator,(that clockwise grey overlay on your actionbars when the GCD is in effect). I'm sure this problem can be solved with a UI mod but i found it quite bothersome. So much so that i disabled the 3d effect for the remainder of the Naxx run i was in.

Another strange thing i found was that scrolling combat text was at the front of the image while damage numbers were as deep in the image as the mob i was attacking. This made for a great deal of text floating by at varying depths which was at the very least mildly disorienting.

Conclusion:

While i really do enjoy these glasses for FPS games and other games where the UI is quite minimal, i cannot really recommend them to anyone who is going to use them strictly for playing WoW. I found the strain on my eyes shifting from the UI to gameplay to be more than i could bare for more than a few minutes at a time.

Keep in mind that everyone who uses these glasses will have a different experience as some people cannot even see 3d stereoscopic images. Some people may experience no eye strain at all while others may find it unplayable. (Source)
interesting and makes sense that the UI has no depth
