Villayna deSinisca

Villayna deSinisca
(IC) What name or title do you go by?
- My name is Villayna deSinisca. While I do carry the title Baroness, it is not something I flaunt or expect non-sin'dorei to acknowledge. The game of nobles is one played during times of peace.
(IC) What is your gender and race?
- I am a female Sin'dorei.
(IC) What is your class in life? Why did you choose to follow this class?
- I am a blood knight...or paladin, I suppose, as some would call us now. I felt this line of training would best help my...my people to regain their strength and fight our enemies.
(IC) How would you describe yourself?
- I am a determined and loyal individual.
(IC) What drives you in life? Why do you want to be Grim?
- My goals drive me. A peaceful life would find me bored quickly, I think. I want to be Grim because there are some things that cannot be accomplished alone, and if I must ally myself with others, I wish to be with the one group that has remained true to their vision since I first became acquainted with them.
(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
- I have belonged to the organizations known as Fates Hand (twice) and Ordo Letalis. One was filled with incompetence, and the other with people who were more worried about their own glory than the goal of the team.
(IC) What are your thoughts on the pact between the Alliance and the Warchief Thrall?
((since I know the Grim officially have incorporated the Wrathgate into their lore, I will assume Villayna knows of it, even though her character has not gotten to that quest point yet))
- There was a time when I would have answered this differently. As long as the Alliance stayed out of my way and did not interfere with my plans, I would pass them by. But now, this King of theirs is too dangerous and the stakes are too high. They may still have uses as they see the Lich King as an enemy, but I do not trust them, and I will not turn my back to them.
(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members. What does that mean to you?
- I will remain in-character at all times (minus OOC channels).
(OOC) The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by structure and a defined chain of command with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies. How does your character's personality and storyline follow the Grim Mandate? Is there any conflict between how you want to play your character and the theme of the Grim? If so, what do you expect out of you joining?
- Villayna does not consider herself evil, but she is VERY much a "the ends justify the means" type of person. The goal is everything, and as long as the goals of the Grim and her own goals coincide, she will be an asset to the cause. While this may sound wishy-washy, she is actually a VERY faithful and loyal minion to those she has pledged herself to...to a fault, even. Those who know her secrets can testify to this. With the fall of Prince Kael'thas, she is currently in need of new leadership to point her in the right direction. (( Unlike Mortica, Villayna and the Grim would be a good fit ))
(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line? Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
- I have only done limited IRL role-playing, but I've been ingame roleplaying a bit since I joined Twisting Nether.
(OOC) Do you have any previous WoW experience? (PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Different Servers, Different Guilds, Different Factions, etc.)
- If I'm not roleplaying, I'm usually raiding. I have limited PvP experience.
(OOC) What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
- Looking for a place to further my roleplaying and have a group committed to experiencing all of the content available in the game.
(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?
(( I'm not sure how long it will take for her to get to 80, but I will be working on her diligently now that I have decided to commit the time to her. While she is ret for leveling, I do plan to turn her back into a healer when she completes her leveling ))

Re: Villayna deSinisca
The Lich King is a worthy reason, but the forces of Outland were not?
Words of war spoken by another King is a worthy reason, where the long fought unspoken one was not?
And when both Kings have fallen, will you return to your estate and your dresses and the game of nobles? Because, we will not.
There will always be war and there will always be reason to serve The Mandate, not just when it is for a convenient cause. I ask that you consider these things before you feign to get your hands dirty.

It takes time for some to come to the realization, Nymare. If we only handed the tabard to those who were unswerving since birth, we would have no numbers at all.
This one has fought with us before, and fought well. I will leave it to others to judge her words, but there are easy ways to test her Heart.

I'm sure I didn't say or mean "go the hell away, woman, we don't want you."
But it is my job to ask questions and have them ask themsevles questions. That is all.

*stares coldly at Nymare*
It is fortunate that my previous experiences with the Grim lead me to believe you must have some worth to them, for otherwise I would find their association with you to be suspect. I am, however, pleased to hear that you have found something that you can be loyal to for more than a night.
As for your attempt to discredit me because I have been known to enjoy the finer things in life briefly, from time to time, I find it laughable. I was born to serve my people. My lands feed armies and common folk alike. Seeing as how you were not born into this life of service, but instead chose to marry into it and thus cannot conceive of the deep commitment required, I can understand and forgive your ignorance. I do not believe peace will come in my lifetime, but it is what we strive for. Is it not, in fact, the mandate of the Grim? Peace by annihilation?
Outlands? Where were you when I was assaulting Gruul, Mag'theridon, and Lady Vashj? Where were you when I was in the Black Temple and Tempest Keep? Boozing it up in Silvermoon, no doubt. Let us compare dirt on our hands, shall we?
As for the Alliance? I have no hatred for them. They are ignorant and they are dangerous. My feeling for them are that of a carrot farmer for rabbits. If they stay away from what is mine, I do not care if they exist or not. Perhaps because I was busy fighting larger threats it is unfortunate that I did not consider them worthy of my attention until recent events.
*turns to Yichimet and her face softens with affection and respect*
Greetings, my friend Yichimet. Thank you for your kind words, and I look forward to fighting by your side.

Re: Villayna deSinisca
You could simply have said "I do not understand".
And it is disappointing to see that you could be moved to such a pointless and flamboyant regurgitation of words over it as well. Very clearly, you missed the point.
You come to us because it suits you now. Now they are dangerous? Now you will not turn your back on them? Where were you, Baroness, when Garithos would have knowingly sent us to our deaths? Where were you, Baroness, when one of our Alliance tore through our city and destroyed our Well? How long did it take, afterward, for you to be able to comfortably turn your back to them - and for all of these years while your precious people struggled to recover themselves after the Alliance proved that not even their allies should turn their backs to them? Where have you been for every attack they've made on our leaders, unsanctioned as it might have been for them then?
Yet even now, so long as they stay away from what is yours...? No. The fight goes to them, The Grim with it, and you among them. Or not?
They have no use.
You will learn that, or you will fail.
And your questions to me? And your even more amusing and ignorant assumptions about me? They will get you no where. You've proven nothing except that you can be used. Until you earn more, you do not question me.

Re: Villayna deSinisca
It is not fortunate, in point of fact ~ on the contrary, it does not matter in the least. Nymare does have worth to us. You, however, have done nothing thus far to prove that you do. The complacency of allowing the Alliance to go about their business as long as it does not concern yours has no place among our members.Mortica wrote:It is fortunate that my previous experiences with the Grim lead me to believe you must have some worth to them, for otherwise I would find their association with you to be suspect.
You have come to us as a petitioner, and have succeeded in doing nothing but prove that you are foolish enough to spit in the faces of the very ones whose words to me could possibly have enough weight to either damn you or save you as far as the Mandate is concerned. I have appointed them to ask questions. You would do well to answer them civilly and at whichever length they or I would have.
While you have our attention, I would caution you not to waste the opportunity.

Re: Villayna deSinisca
I do not mean disrespect, but when false accusations are tossed at me, I will defend myself. I was not yet of age to fight when the Well was destroyed so if you would hold that against me, so be it.
Why have I not come to the Grim before this time? Because my loyalties lay with others. If I could request the bronzes to return me to a prior timeline, I would no doubt choose differently.
The Alliance are pawns. There is a time and a place to destroy them, but not if it means losing sight of more deadly objectives.

Re: Villayna deSinisca
Mmhmhm, vicious and entertaining. Still, the lack of acknowledgment regarding one of the single greatest obstacles to the Mandate is odd.
Loyalty is a mutable thing. Some die while others live. Loyalty to the dead is a difficult thing to maintain while still living.
Not of age? Children in a time of war are so curious.

Re: Villayna deSinisca
Accusations? Far from it. If you cannot make simple leaps of logic because you're far more interested in digging into your little bag of expected Sin'Dorei "noble" venom to try to prove some sort of unnecessary point about yourself, I suppose I could end each "accusation" with "to come to us"... to help soothe such riled sensibilities-
The Lich King is a worthy reason to come to us...
Words of war spoken by another King is a worthy reason to come to us...
...whereas all else just wasn't enough before. You had your loyalties elsewhere, as it suited you then, and so they change as it suits you now. Understand that this is how you have presented yourself to us and it is worth noting and questioning, as has been done. As I expect both to fall to us, this does suddenly make me wonder what we would then have to offer you to keep any sort of professed loyalty from you. I am not going to assume your words mean anything. Not yet.
Do I expect you to have defended our city from the Scourge? No. Again, you miss the point. I expect that you might have learned from it, though. Your stated attitude toward the Alliance would suggest otherwise, and while you are welcome to ignore them, you are not welcome to ignore them among us.
Vicious, Qabian? Flailing in a deluded sense of self-importance to those who would guide her to be something greater isn't vicious, it is... unwise. Dogs can manage to be vicious and entertaining as well, but we should expect better, yes?
That might have been an accusation.

Re: Villayna deSinisca
Since when does viciousness have anything to do with wisdom. She snapped back. I'd call that vicious. I'd also call it stupid, yes. And yes, I am entertained by the accusations she has made, all things considered, and I believe they have a certain venom to add to the term "vicious". Deluded, nonsensical venom that isn't going to cause anyone to lose any sleep, but a certain intent to hurt, whether or not the capacity to actually feel such a thing exists. Vicious. But viciousness accompanied by an apparent intent to dig her own grave is yet another curious thing.
She's been around the block, though. Collecting sympathetic ears?

Fun stuff! Give her hell, she probably does need to be taken down a notch
I will be away from a Wow-capable computer until Saturday or Sunday, but I will be checking up on websites from time to time so I will be able to respond, just not a promptly as I normally would.
Merry Christmas everyone! hugs!
