An infiltrator comes clean ((Interview with Awatu))

Unread post by Lunataure »

Luna felt her pulse quicken as she came into the clearing that the Grim was meeting in. The meeting was not scheduled to begin for another hour but she was hoping to catch the leader Awatu alone before the others began arriving. She had a secret that she needed to get off her chest and Awatu needed to know because it had all started with him. Her mind drifted while sat waiting for his arrival. Luna was an assassin by trade and she specialized in making people in power turn up dead. That is what had brought her to the Grim. Awatu had been one of her targets. He did not know it yet but he was almost her last job. Lucky for him she always researches her marks to not only fine easy ways to kill them but also to make sure they should die. Over the years she had refused plenty of contracts to kill innocent or ideologically important individuals. On a few of these occasions she felt strongly enough that her target not be harmed that she took it upon herself to kill those that wanted them dead. This was the case with Awatu. She had heard about the Grim and that they had a mandate to bring peace through annihilation. In a roundabout way that was what Luna had been doing for as long as she could remember. Some members of Horde leadership did not like that the Grim were waging their own war separately from the Horde leaderships goals. They thought that if they had Awatu removed from leadership that it would cause the rest of the Grim to disband and go their separate ways. Once I had infiltrated the group I quickly realized that no matter how many leaders met their maker, the Grim would fight on. I spent time with Awatu and talked to him about his past. He had once been a member of the Stonespire tribe, in the southern barrens. He had gone to fight the scourge and come back to home to find that most of his tribe had been destroyed by the Dwarves of Bael Modan. He had been one of only a few who survived the onslaught that left not only his homeland but the Dwarven base a charred scar in the barrens. Eventually he met Bor’ghal a warlock of the Grim and joined them. After a time he was promoted to high inquisitor by Ashenfury, and finally took the reins as leader of the Grim from the warlock Greebo. Luna saw that Awatu held the mandate of “Peace through Annihilation” close to his heart as he tries to provide safety and freedom from oppression for all the people of the Horde not just the Grim. Luna felt that the Horde was lucky to have a group like the Grim and more importantly a leader like Awatu amongst them. Luna went back to those that had hired her and did what she needed to do make sure that no one else would try to stop the Grim. Now she needed to let Awatu know everything that had transpired before and after her becoming one of the Grim. She only hoped that he would understand that she no matter what had transpired in the past she was now a Grim and would lay down her life to protect them and the Mandate. Just as she was about to lose her nerve and continue to hide her past Awatu landed near to where she sat. “Awatu could you spare me a moment of your time?”…
