My Question is are they going to be reprogrammed to run on todays computers cause..technically...some of em will..just...so insanely fast it's not funny.

I don't know.  They are mostly turn-based, but scrolling may be a problem.

I would assume they're slowed down, otherwise why release them?

I'm so glad I have the fall off of school now though...see y'all later. ;)

you need to run them in a DOS emulator that has a clock-speed slowing thingy.. i've replayed Xcom games 2-3 years ago using DOSBox, and it worked perfectly.

If you don't use one, the Geoscape will go so fast at 5 sec intervals, it's equivalent to the 1-day intervals back on 386's of yesteryears past.

and for those contemplating to purchase the Steam thingy, be aware that X-com Interceptor is a shitty game and X-com Enforcer is the Shittyest game of them all.

I played them on a DOS emulator not too long ago too, but like I said, I can't imagine that since they're being released on Steam, someone hasn't emulated them properly for their native speed to run on our SUPER FAST COMPUTERS OF THE FUTURE.

The first two games alone are worth the purchase price, just so execs know that we gamers are interested in more X-Com and some company (2K Boston, I'm lookin' at you since you got the rights now) could make a pretty penny on a well-done version of this.

Aye.  firt two are awesome, and I never was able to get apocolypse to run for long and still want to finish it...and that may be why the bundle costs the same as 3 of the games, eh?

Just to note (and kind of disappointingly)--it's just the games themselves, no extras included, so you have to find a way to emulate them if you download through Steam. For some reason Terror from the Deep wants to run itself on XP, but both the first one and Apocalypse run through DOSBox--Apocalypse pretty well, and UFO Defense I can't seem to tweak the DOSBox settings to actually get a decent speed and mouse sensitivity going.
