A Night Out On The Town by Thrysta

Unread post by Keeper Of Lore »

"Say it," she hissed.

"Not a chance, sweetness," he retorted.

Thrysta pursed her ruined lips, her eyes narrowing as she stared Wilek
down. Her gaze never leaving the rogue, the diminutive priestess crouched
down, inspecting the corpse of the dwarf that lay sprawled on the parched
Desolace ground between the two Forsaken.

His eyes were wide in death, frozen in the pain and terror that Thrysta's
last spell had wrought upon him. Nearby, a large bear thrashed in its
last death throes, a number of slashing wounds having reduced the creature
almost to ribbons. The pet of the dwarven hunter let out one last pathetic
roar before joining its master in the afterlife.

"Wilek, say the words," Thrysta uttered ominously, glaring at the insolent
Forsaken, her talons idly toying with the torn and burnt tabard of the
dead dwarf.

"Darlin'," Wilek began, "we're gonna be here until the dang cows come home,
'cause I ain't sayin' nothin'."

Thrysta stood back up, facing Wilek. The rogue glared back at her, his
thumbs looped in his belt, palms near the hilts of his knives. The two
Forsaken stared at each other in silence, neither giving an inch or
looking away.

Finally, Wilek broke the silence, letting out a long drawn-out sigh.

"Alright darlin', you win."

Thrysta smiled devilishly, looking much like a cat who had just caught
a particularly delicious rodent. She folded her arms over her chest,
her foot tapping lightly on the ground near the dead dwarf's head.

"I'm waiting, love," she murmured, smirking at the rogue, "Say the words."

The rogue took a deep breath, as if what he was about to do would cause
great pain. Finally, he spoke.

"Thank you, darlin..."

Thrysta began to grin widely as Wilek continued.

"...but I coulda got 'em by myself, dang it."

The priestess giggled, moving toward Wilek, wrapping her arms around the
wiry rogue.

"You cannot simply say thank you without adding anything else, can you?"

Wilek embraced Thrysta in return, chuckling softly.

"Sweetness, it wasn't easy for me to say that, so take what you can get."

"That was," she murmured, resting her forehead against his, "acceptable."

The two Forsaken embraced quietly for a few more moments before finally
parting. Thrysta's smile had dimmed, replaced almost completely by a
look of indecisiveness.

Sensing her sudden turmoil, Wilek spoke.

"Somethin' botherin' you, darlin'?"

Thrysta bit her ruined lip. Meeting Wilek's eyes, she spoke hesitantly.

"Love...I...I wish to talk about something that has been troubling me,"
she began, "Well, more accurately, about a number of things that have been
troubling me."

Wilek chuckled.

"'Bout time, Thryssy. Gettin' you to talk about anythin' other than what
we do by nature..."

He pointed to the dwarven corpse for emphasis.

"...is like pullin' teeth."

Thrysta smirked at his remark.

"Love, it was not easy for me to say that, so take what you can get."

Wilek chuckled, shaking his head ruefully.

"Got me there, Thryssy girl...you've got me there."

The rogue reached into one of his belt pouches, retrieving his hearthstone.
Thrysta retrieved her own as well.

"Well darlin', I reckon we should have a nice long chat somewhere special
then, huh?"

Thrysta nodded, beginning to channel the magic in her hearthstone as Wilek
did the same.

"Perhaps, Love, we should go to our graves...to find some quiet, a place
where we can talk in peace?" Thrysta suggested.

Wilek grinned, his hearthstone about to activate.

"Nah, I was thinkin' we'd have a night a' drinkin' and dancin' at the World's
End, sweetness," he chuckled, right as he disappeared in a green flash.

"Wha-?" Thrysta had time to utter, as her own hearthstone whisked her to
Shattrath City.
