Fires burned in this unholy place...A common site really and not really worth noting as far as Malkaris was concerned.
The dark robed figure stood up, soot covering his form and blood generously dripping from his physique. He slowly stands up to his full height being the same as that of a healthy night elf...which once upon a time he was. His clawed hand clenches tightly around the removed face of an unfortunate Draenai peacebringer, its owner laying on the floor writhing in agony with its hands to its face.
"Why do you scream? You waste your breath for something that will last a while I think..."
Malkaris throws the now flapping and dripping face to the ground and smooths out his robes. He was...annoyed at himself for having paused a while ago in answering Acherontia's question about his daughter.
The Draenai's chittering screams and sobs now mingled with the raging fires of shadowmoon valley. Another casualty of this already spirit filled place. Malkaris paces around its convulsing form, one arm across his chest and another against his chin.
"What would I do...If I saw you again, Saeris? My....little..."
The Draenai's hand clenches around Malkaris's foot and tugs. It seems... that the creature is angry. Holy light flashes from the Draenai's eyes as it attempts to heal the scorched hole in its chest. The smoke lazily floating about only adds to the effect as the light brightens the entire area.
Malkaris had last his balance and now lays on his back. He wasn't enraged or even embarrassed really. In that slight moment of hesitation he wasn't sure he wanted to think of what might happen to his daughter anyway really. An eyebrow arches as the ground shifts beneath him slightly at his weight. Lightning flashes above with an all to familiar cliche feeling tagging along with it. He smiles slightly to himself with this.
The Draenai is now standing and brandishing his weapon, a ridiculously large hammer which Malkaris had no intention of getting hit with. Blue luminescent blood struggles from the Draenai's faceless visage, mingling with the greenish tint of the sand. It spouts some form of gibberish...proclaiming this that or the other if its anything like the human paladins he's encountered before.
The peacebringer stalks forward, murder in its eyes. Its face tentacles writhe madly as a somewhat maddened grin forms on its lips.
"Saeris..my little elunite flower...would you still love your papa? Your papa, who's name would be forgotten by his people? Your papa who would be betrayed by his allies? The monster? ...Im not so bad I think...*he chuckles slightly, allowing himself a bit of indulgence, remembering all that he once was* I wonder..." He thinks. Memories of his former life, telling stories to his little one near Mount Hyjal before its fall, her first steps, all flow through his mind.
He becomes distracted by an all to inconveniencing whoosing sound and a distinctly metalic ching noise. He looks up, a grimace on his face as he holds up his Magus Blade, blocking the falling war hammer. The creature roars in a mixture of anguish and rage bringing it down again. Malkaris quickly rolls out of the way and onto his feet, only to be driven backwards against a boulder by another bone shattering swing of that nightmare inducing hammer. Sparks fly from his blade and darkness seeps out of his own eyes, shadows mingling with blue flashes of his own determination.
No magic...I still know how to wield a blade...I still know.
I pray that no one finds you my little Saeris...for now...Perhaps...If you saw things our way....

Re: Thoughts by Malkaris
But alas...Its not meant to be.
*Irk* The hammer knocks Malkaris's sword arm out of the way and hits him squarely in the chest sending him careening through the air until skidding through heat hardened mud. His eyes dimmed...that blow shattered whatever was left of his delusions about being the warrior he once was.
The squidhead stalked up towards him, hammer held to the side as he puffed his chest in self-righteous pride...
"Don't be so proud. you've beaten an already broken spirit, Squid." Malkaris mumbles through clenched teeth, grasping his chest hoping his ribcage was still more or less still in one piece..the bastard hit hard.
The draenai's face had more or less stopped bleeding but the sight of a faceless creature was somewhat amusing as it was odd. The draenai had to have felt the pain...it was clear as his face muscles twitched and his teeth clenched and his breathing stayed haggard. Slurping sounds could be heard as his intakes of breath also drew in almost mouthfuls of his own blood.
"You...die...for light....now." It says in bastardized Orcish.
Malk really cant help but let out a chuckle though...in a way...this Draenai's speech reminded him of Grogkar..Somewhat anyway.
The Draenai roars triumphantly as he raises his hammer high proudly. Malk didn't have his sword in hand, as he had failed to keep it in his hand, a failure most warriors would flagellate themselves over.
A whirling sound is heard. Blue luminescent blood splatters over his face as he looks up, slightly confused at the arrow protruding from the Squid's collar bone...seemed to have hit a vital artery as well because the Squid was *mad* now..and bleeding profusely. The Draenai turned to see his new assailant. Flying above on a wyvern was a black haired girl with bow in hand. A pained expression crosses her face as she looks down at him...
~She recognizes me...~ he thinks.. He extends a hand to her weakly but a tear rolls down her face, her blue eyes shimmering sadly as she kicks the wyvern into flight away from them.
~...She left me again...I cannot lose...her again!~ It seems that the years since he last saw her have not been kind...she had followed the Highborne out of Kalimdor, and this pained him to no end...but he would think on that later...he had to get to her.
He got up, moving quickly to try and call on his own wyvern but the Squid blocked his path, grabbing Malk by the throat and raising him up off of the ground. Malk's eyes flared in madness, he had to get to his little girl. He had to talk to her...He had to see where her loyalty lay...he had to hold her and tell her everything will be alright...that the alliance would be gone and peace would once again return to Azeroth...but this creature was not letting him DO those things.
Malkaris looked down at the creature and came to a final conclusion. He was a warlock now. A dark magus and there was nothing he could do to change his fate.
His hands flared with caustic shadows
He was no longer a swordsman.
His eyes burned with hatred and fel power
He was no longer Malkaris, the Night Elf who had once been proud of being apart of the murdering of Horde and Grim as well alike while wearing the colors of the Tears of Elune...
And so he smiled...letting the darkness intermingle with his soul. Somewhere he was sure Elune herself lamented the loss of a son who revered her so much.
Malkaris tilts his head, the draenai ready to strike the deathblow... but Malk grabs a hold of the squid's arm, burning it, turning flesh to ash. The squid head bellowed in pain as Malk is released from his vice grip. You cant strangle which doesn't need to breathe... and unceremoniously, He grabs the squids face once again after tackling the draenai, bringing the creature down to its knees. Fel energy came off of the draenai in whisps.
Malk turned around and looked up to see if he could see his daughter..but she was gone.
"Where do you stand...my little one? You never sympathized with the Horde before...unless...you feel you can bridge the gap between your old masters and our new ones....You always were an optimist..."
He summons his fel steed...and galloped in the direction of Shattrath..he needed the air in his face so he could think.

Re: Thoughts by Malkaris
The smells of Shattrath filled his nostrils much to his chagrin... Human children and their mothers walking about, oblivious to the monsters that roamed about. They seemed as if the Naaru would solve all of their problems or some other ill suited course of action. Would hate to have to bring the rest of the Naaru down to their knees, heh.
A Dwarven hunter pushes past Malkaris almost violently, eyeballing the tall undead with murder. Malk didn't mind however...the feeling was mutual. No, there are no more illusions of piece, not anymore.
The place was alive with activity and the sights and sounds of Shattrath bombarded Malk which in a way took his mind from his issues and gave him a small moments respite. He simply stands there, in the middle tier, arms outstretched somewhat and his head back. What a joy it would be to alive again, free from this curse thanks to Lady Sylvanas or one of the other leaders of the Horde.
People walks around him giving him odd glances but continued on their way, leaving the seemingly mad warlock alone.
"uh oh."
Another angry squid-head was making his way towards Malkaris, weapon sheathed but barely.
It grabs Malkaris by his chest and lifts him up against the nearest wall which Held A'dal within.
"A shame I cant understand one damned thing that you're saying...a few human words here and there perhaps but eh."
Eventually the peacebringer broke into Orcish, but by that point Malk wasn't listening any longer. But apparently he had killed a close comrade and he was going to make Malk pay. The other Peacebringers did not approve however...or at the very least dared not act in the Naaru's city so the angered Draenai relented and dropped Malk to the floor.
Malk smoothed out his robes and merely tilted his head, a smile forming on his lips and in perfect Darnassian tells the beast,
"You're comrade died due to your inability to get back up and save him...he died a better death than you ever will, coward."
Oh, how the Draenai did not like this but at this point, he was being held by his brothers and sisters anyway.
Later on that day, the Draenai had been found dead, his features one of surprise as they lifted his head from his food. It was determined that he had died from some sort of poison.
