Grim Application For Elda

How did you hear about The Grim?
- My friend Cal, or Opalexian, or whatever other characters she happens to play, who is in this guild!
She has been talking you guys up a lot, and from cruising your sight, looks like she speaks true :)

What experience do you have with internet forums? Do you check them frequently or infrequently?
- I've used internet forums a heap!
Way back in warcraft 3 times I was a big poster on warcraft3.com, since there was nothing else to do at school besides cruise forums...
But aside from that, whenever I've been in guilds, I'm always active on the forums, or at least keep up to date on them. I like to multitask a lot. That means a lot of reading to feed the boredom. Forums are good for this :)

What sort of role-playing experience do you have? Would you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
- I've done a heap of roleplaying in the past, not so much recently, due to not playing a whole lot of RP games.
I used to play a lot of Neverwinter nights, on the heavy roleplay servers like Anphilia, (if anyone played anphilia, wooo) they were always fun times, and the roleplay aspect of those games, which really added a whole lot more into the whole experience, beyond the game mechanics, was one of the things that I missed most when coming to WoW, even with playing on the roleplay servers, it tends to be lacking.

The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
- I've played evil characters in the past, while my favoured role was neutral evil, but it's just a short step to lawful evil from there. Slightly less self serving :)

Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
- I certainly have!
I started playing WoW on release, was in some small guilds, but then when they first introduced the RPPVP servers I jumped over to maelstrom, and that's where the guilding began in earnest.
I joined the raiding guild The Shadow Watch, which broke off to become The Remnants. One of the stronger raiding guilds on the server. Which is where I met Cal (Opalexian). During the time there the other hunters and I prided ourselves on being the most organised and least drama filled group in the guild.
After loot issues among the leadership eventually tore that guild apart, I drifted a little and joined probably the strongest raiding guild at the time, The Thundering Legion, there we did AQ, and original Naxx.
Then burning crusade came along. Smaller raid sizes led to restructuring and I formed the raiding guild End Game. Which was made up of various Remnants and TTL raiders. That was a great time, and we raided efficiently until the end of Burning Crusade, and briefly during the beginning of WoTLK.
Slowly that petered out with people having other things to do, and as a whole I think the guild lost interest. So we stopped really doing anything under pleasant circumstances, which is the best way it could have ended.
Since then, I have mostly been playing just with friends, not really bothering with raiding, or taking breaks to study. And do other endeavours.

Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
- Applying on main.

What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim. What aspect of the game, if any, do you wish to focus on?
- I really enjoy PvE, and Raiding in particular, that has always been my focus in this game, and I always enjoy it.
PvP has been less of a draw for me as a general rule, but that said I've had some amazing times travelling the world with some guildies and messing stuff up.

Really, I'm looking forward to being part of a group again, which is what I miss the most.
This game is good, but when you are playing it by yourself, it kind of loses a lot of it's fun.
It's the people that make it, and that's what I would like to get back.

What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
- My favoured class is Hunter, and obviously that role is DPS.
I've played other classes, but I just don't enjoy them as much as the hunter.

As I kinda went over in the guild history.
Vanilla WoW, all raids up to and including Original Naxx, world bosses too!
BC - All raids up to Black Temple for myself.
Wotlk - Mostly just Naxx, touches of the others through random raids.
Cata - raid finder stuff, killed Deathwing, found it disappointing :(
MoP - Getting through heroics now, actually interested in seeing new content!

I really enjoy PvE, especially the fun random things you can do in the open world!

What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
-I've done arenas casually, battlegrounds casually, and world pvp casually, I enjoy PvP, but have never dedicated a lot of time to it.

What is your regular World of Warcraft play schedule? If your answer is "anytime", "flexible", or some other vague word please describe why. Our scheduled interview times are 8pm on Monday and 10am on Wednesdays. Can you make either of those times?
- My playtime is mostly in the mornings to early afternoon in my timezone. which translates to the evenings to after midnight for the servers timezone. I'm a university student, and so logically, all my classes are in the afternoons, because why would you want to wake up early for class? :P
I work evenings and a little on the weekends, which I think mostly is when you guys are asleep anyway.
So, yes, I can make both of those times.

How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
- My computer doesn't lag at all, and my internet has always been fine for raiding in the past, and it's only gotten better since then.

Provide an armory link to your character.
- http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/m ... lda/simple

Do you have anything further to add?
- Obviously I am both a night elf and on another server, but Cal says you guys are a good bunch, and thinks I would have a great time over here with you all. And from what I've seen looking over your forums it does look like a fun environment. So, if considered, then i'll migrate my way over this way, and hopefully have a great time with you all.
Thanks for your time!

Edit: also as you can see, my gear is pretty lame, since I haven't been playing, but, that's something I am working on, and will continue to do so if you guys have me around :)

Also, if you need to contact me in game for any reason, since I am not currently on your server, don't hesitate to use my battlenet ID.

((he's a bit of a spaz but he's my spaz, and also calls me 'Cal' alot because that was my alli druid's name (naughty secrets)

Since he didnt say it, I'd like to point out that while he's in Australia he's always been dead on-time for US event times, and also loves to go out and cause world havoc. And is being somewhat modest about his PVP fu. A guild without Elda is like a guild without sunshine!))

Araun will be conducting an interview at 8pm on Monday. Could you make this time, pending on a transfer of course?

That translates to wednesday night for me, which is wide open at the moment, so I'll keep it free :)
Just give me a rough server time estimate so I can make sure i'm on!

Also I have completed a transfer, and am on the server as "Shengi"
Since Elda was unavailable.

The lack of consistency in Blizzard's naming standards enforcement can be infuriating.
