Grim Preparation (( Open RP ))
Grim Preparation (( Open RP ))
The troll warrior didn't want any slip of this to be passed by lips not of the Grim. To prepare, he used no hearthstone, nor written letter. Whether whispered in a side-street of Orgrimmar, at an out-of-the-way tavern, or spoken with seeming nonchalance in a deserted corner of a Horde Fortress, he spoke with the High Inquisitor, Kailei Windstalker, Nyali her caretaker, and Ishonokos, a known alchemist and the blood knight's bodyguard. The gist was the same for all involved.
"We ain't gettin' jumped troo no dam sickness agin. Ah want our best alchemists studyin' dat plague dat got Kailei. Ah want us ta be prepared aginst anyting like dat agin. Ah want ta know 'ow we kin use dat plague aginst our enemies. An' ah want us ta begin tinkin'...
'ow do we *deal*, nice-like, wit' Calystae Ba'lorre?"

Re: Grim Preparation (( Open RP ))
Nyali nodded at his words and replied, sheathing and unsheathing her claws. "All does 'o betray da Grim desahv da same fate. Mah laboratorah be ya's ta use as ya wi'. An' ah mahsel' wi' 'unt anytin' dat be need. Ah sti' 'ave da tings col' an' safe wit'in da lab, an' been waitin' ta be given permissahn ta tes' it. Ah kin 'unt anytin' dat be requiahd." She grins softly. "ah do like ta 'unt aftah all..."
Re: Grim Preparation (( Open RP ))
"Nice? To the woman who almost killed me?" She asked curiously the hand that normally rested over the pommel of her mace gripping it tightly now in anger. "I'd much rather kill her than try and be nice to her."
She paused and glanced at the others that had gathered. "I am not much of an alchemist either...so my input on the studying party seems rather slim, although I did suffer through a good bit of the plague."

Leyu'jin grinned at Kailei. "Donna know da meanin' o' sarcasmo too well, do ya sistah?" He chuckles lightly. The troll picks up a small hand axe, honed to a razor sheen, and runs a finger delicately along its edge. "Nice like a knife, joo know." He sets the axe back down and turns to the druid Nyali.
"Sistah, ah've got sum knowings o' alchemy ma'self, tho ah nevah got inta diseases an' da like. Curses, well, dey ain't da same ting." He grunts. "Ah'd like ta work wit'choo ta help out on dis plague ting. 'bout time ah put ma chemics knowledge ta gud use fo' da Grim. But relly, ah want us ta make a plague warfare division. It al'ays bugged me dat da Apothecary Society existed, an' we dinna hav a counter ta dat. Wut'choo tink, Nyali?"
The warrior flexed a gauntleted hand. "We need ta ORGANIZE. Wit' Deathwing's deth, new threats bound ta be around da cornah, an' dat Calystae be jus' one example. Alliance'll be comin' aftah our heds too, no doubt. Ah'm jus' tired o' us all respondin ta tings in a fractured mannah."
(( This thread is following up on Kailei's plaguing. Anybody's welcome to join in, either to talk about how to deal with Calystae Ba'lorre, the warlock who developed the plague and infected Kailei, or about joining the alchemists in working on the plague itself. ))

Kailei smirked. "Good, I don't want to go about this whole thing wrong. I owe that woman a smack or two to the head with my pointy mace," She remarked and she moved to one of the chairs in the room, flopping into it as much as a small woman in plate can flop.
"Whatever you two do with that plague, be VERY careful. Wouldn't want you two getting infected before we figure out how to make it a weapon against those who would attack us."
She opened the small leather bound journal she tugged out of her pack. "My symptoms were...high fever, chills, loss of appetite, bruising around the eyes mouth and nose," She paused and tapped at the journal with her quill. "Vomiting, coughing...which made it contagious we figured...and I assume that was only the start of it." She explained.

"Ah be 'appy ta 'elp wit' da disease'. bu' we nee' a way ta make suah i' don' ge' ta us. We don' wan' ta catch i' on da battahfie' eidah. " She swished her tail. "Ah 'ave a room wit'in mah cave dat be clean an' fresh. Any'an dat be willin' be goo' ta 'ave, doe ah tink da bes' ta work wit' it be da undead membahs o' da Grim." She growled as she sniffed the air.

Re: Grim Preparation (( Open RP ))
Leyu'jin nods at Nyali. "Aye, bein' able ta test out dis plague would be mos' helpful. Go to joo hunt, Nyali. Find a gud 'un. Joo be da expert o' da Grim on dis disease, so joo hedin' da project be sensible-like. Ah'd like ta bring in othas tho. We hav many experts wit'in da Grim, it be aboot time we all worked towahds a goal. Ah'll talk ta who ah kin find personal-like, an' inform dem o' wut we be seekin' ta do."
Re: Grim Preparation (( Open RP ))
Nyali nodded and faded into the shadows. "Mah cave be undah mah 'ome, in da Barrens. Jus' call on da 'eartston when ya be redah. ah wi' ge' ta da 'unt."
Later...
Nyali and Ishonokos enter her cave, a knocked out human paladin in tow. They had stripped him of his armor and given him a dirty old alliance Tabard to spare his modesty. Nyali grinned showing all her teeth as she placed him in a cage, bound to the wall with roots of Ishonokos' creation.
Ishonokos glanced at Nyali. "Did you need me for anything else?"
Nyali nodded. "Fin' Leyu'jin. Tell 'im we get 'uman. Ah be 'untin' fo' mo' latah."
Ishonokos nodded and left Nyali and Mielkov alone in the cave. Mielkov snored lightly, knocked out by the potion.

Re: Grim Preparation (( Open RP ))
Leyu'jin stared askance at the warlock standing across from him. "Should ah take caution in handlin' dis?"
The warlock, Calystae Ba'lorre, shook her head. "No! Not this batch. It's a vaccine against my newest creation." She paused. "But I will not tell you what it is unless you take it." She smiled.
Kailei the blood knight, standing nearby, shifted uncomfortably.
The troll warrior dipped his gauntleted hand into a satchel filled with powder. Covering his hand, he then took the pouch proffered by the warlock, and deposited it in the satchel.
Leyu'jin said, "Da gesture be appreciated. Ah will take it in gud faith."
Kailei Windstalker crossed her arms over her chest. Whispering over the hearthstone, the troll murmured, "Hah, dat be a gud joke." Whispering back, the blood knight replied, "Yes, it was." She smirked a bit.
The warlock nodded. "Now, as I was saying." She folded her hands together as a cheshire grin nearly cracked through her porcelain face. "That vaccine is for a new chemical I've invented for your hunters and rogues. A poison that confuddles the mind just long enough to strike fear mid-battle. I've been testing it on orcs, you see, and their bloodthirst was sated and reversed fifty-two percent of the time in trials." The warlock nodded. "It's a success, if you ask me."
Responding, Leyu'jin said, "Successful, aye. But dose percentages be a bit low. Joo wish us ta test dese in battle situation?" The warlock nodded.
Kailei remarked, "I know a hunter who loves new poisons."
Calystae continued, "I'd like to test it on different races, and you seem to be more able to find living subjects than I can."
Eurphadion the death knight, adherent to the Raven Cross and companion to Calystae, chuckled softly. In response,
Kailei glared at him.
Leyu'jin said, "Mmm, ah would tink it wouldna' be hard fo' joo ta find test subjects. But aye, da Grim's resources be large. Joo wish us ta report da effects o' dis poison?"
Calystae hesitated, then stated, "Actually, I'd like to work for the Grim, in my own way, of course."
The warrior did not give away any clue to his feelings, and simply said, "Why do a vaccine be needed if da poison be short-actin'? If'n ah mey ask."
The blood elf replied, "Would you really like to see your own soldiers turn tail during a battle in case a spare arrow flew past someone? I've seen it happen. Innoculation is key, Leyujin."
Leyujin raised an eyebrow. "Den joo mean dis vaccine mus' be applied prior ta bein' affected? Obvious-like joo canna administah it mid-battle." The warlock nodded. "Exactly. One round before each battle, actually."
Kailei Windstalker whispered through the hearth network, "I wouldn't be trusting that vaccine... but that's my point of view." The troll responded quietly, "Ah donna trust anyting da womon sez. Ah'll hav our specialists look at dis. Ah know poisons, but no knowin' plagues, if dis be anotha 'un." The impatient Sin'dorei responded tersely, "Can I kill her then?" To that, Leyu'jin said, "No."
Kailei sighs. Leyu'jin continued, "We will need ta synthesize mo' o' da vaccine, den, if we continue da use o' da poison. Will joo provide da materials an' process ta create it?"
The warlock shrugged. "Easy enough. I have an entire laboratory at my disposal. Hence why I asked to work -with- The Grim." The troll nodded. Calystae continued, "I know as well as anyone that there is always room for biological warfare, and I plan on getting my recognition when the levy breaks, so to speak."
"We kin integrate da poison inta our assaults on da battlegrounds, den," the warrior offered. Her ire rising, Kailei gritted her teeth, slightly clenching, and unclenching her fists. At this display, Calystae raised her eyebrow inquisitively at Kailei. The death knight accompanying her eyed Kailei up and down.
Calystae murmured in sweet tones, "Sorry, cupcake, is something troubling you?"
Kailei managed a rather creepy smile... a forced one. "Oh no... I'm just wonderful." Without moving a muscle, Leyu'jin whispered through the hearthstone, "Easy, Kailei. Two aginst two donna assure a ded warlock. Dat requires plannin', on our terms." Replying with forced restraint, Kailei said "Understood bossman... I'm controlling myself."
Leyu'jin shrugs as if he could care less about the situation. But the warlock's tone turned hard. "Bullshit. You may be here under Ley's guard, but I refuse to be lied to. Formalities be damned, I'm in the business of war, and business is quite prosperous, sweetie." Calystae winks slyly at Kailei. "So if you have a problem, let me know."
The blood knight stated quietly, "Funny how you don't recognize me... but we have no problem."
The warlock snorted. "Oh, I recognize you just fine. Your wounds healed up quickly enough, didn't they? I can barely see any scars." Kailei said grimly, "Let's say that is lucky for you."
Calystae shook her head. "Luck has nothing to do with it. Now quiet down, dear. The adults are speaking." Kailei just smirked.
Leyu'jin raised an eyebrow. "Aye, it would be gud ta git back ta business, as joo sey." Calystae turned on her heel and stared back at Leyujin. "So? Do we have a deal? I bring the prototype, and any vaccine or antidote needed, and The Grim has full use of them, so long as I have recognition."
The troll nodded. "Aye, recognition is sumting we hav no problem in givin'. Da Grim's got enuff infamy in its own quartahs, we kin giv credit where it be due." At this, the warlock nodded. She held out her hand, and cut her smile down to a more polite expression. Leyu'jin extended his gauntlet, firmly grasping the warlock's hand, but not exerting undue force. "When joo wish ta deliver da prototype, lemme know." He paused, "Unless joo hav it now."
The warlock's eye twitched at the way the gauntlet seemed to pinch the tiny folds of skin, but shook his hand with vigor to seal the deal. "A shipment is on its way to the main barracks now, actually. You will receive five crates within the hour." At this, Leyu'jin bowed. In response, Calystae bowed her head gently. Eurphadion the death knight smiled.
The warrior clapped his hands. "Excellent. We will let joo know da results o' da test, an' be sho' ta mention joo as da creatah an' suppliah.
The warlock said, "You have my thanks, Leyu'jin. There are a few projects still 'cooking', if I may." Leyu'jin replied, "If dis poison be successful, ah'm sho' we will be willin' ta test mo' o' joo 'projects'." At this, the warrior in turn nodded at the death knight Eurphadion. "If der be noting else, we kin adjourn."
Calystae replied, "Of course. A saleswoman cannot expect a buyer without proper reputation to precede the products. If you're pleased, I would ask that we meet personally with each new prototype. Is that alright?"
The warrior, giving no hint of expression besides amiability, responded, "Aye. If not ah, den anotha officah o' da Grim. Ah mey be absent in da comin' month."
The warlock said, "I'll need a list of names, then. I refuse to meet with just anyone, you see."
Kailei smirked a bit. Leyu'jin said, "Ah will provide dem. Altho fo' any'un wit' any means, mos' be on public record."
The warlock replied, "Understood. Shall we adjourn?" Eurphadion nods. "If we may, I'm famished." The troll nodded at Calystae. Kailei glared angrily at Eurphadion. Eurphadion smirked slyly at Kailei.
The warlock finished, "Good hunting to the both of you."
Leyu'jin nodded. "Cat'choo latah. Damballah's ways be wit'choo."
The warlock, Calystae Ba'lorre, shook her head. "No! Not this batch. It's a vaccine against my newest creation." She paused. "But I will not tell you what it is unless you take it." She smiled.
