Abric wrote: Heh, your ideal of poor seems to be pretty well off paying for Scotch, Pincus.  A poor student drinks Bud Light or Natty Ice.  Not scotch.

Fail poor is fail.
This is grad school. We're more refined. It's Scotch if the funding is in. Or Popov vodka if between grants.

I still can't fight the urge to beat you up for your lunch money, Pincus ... and your wife can't save you!

Speaking of computer problems, my Mac continues to freeze up doing damn near everything - though it is still not consistent enough to "time it".  It's getting really frustrating.  I know it's a hardware problem, but Mac's System Preferences and hardware check keeps saying everything is good.  Fucking Steve Jobs, you lying fuck.

I have highlighted your problem, Abric.

Is this during WoW or in general?  If it is WoW then turn off the shadow settings.  If it is in general then that is what you get for being a filthy Mac Owner.  Dirty and unclean heretic.

Like I said, it isn't consistent.  WoW, Starcraft 2, Firefox, iTunes, QuickTime, Mumble, Steam, Plants vs Zombies... I've had freezes through them all; then haven't had freezes... then have had freezes.  The one thing I haven't had a freeze from is my screen saver (set at 25 minutes) or the password prompt out of my screen saver (safety first!  This computer was in a semi-public place for five months!)

I was going to have Grainger fix it during the camping trip, but I picked up his English mental training that he would shit on it.  I don't want the doo-doo on the laptop.

Explain freezing, though. Is it freezing as in: everything locks up and nothing is functional for a few seconds; or is it everything locks up and I have to restart the computer to get it working again?
