Rest assured, I'm still working on it. I ran an avast and a AVG virus scan and it found absolutely nothing. Except the former did find a trojan and, I assume, got rid of it. But I find the lack of viruses to be almost surprising considering the length of time between now and the last scan.

I'm was hoping to bring my friend over tomorrow to take a look at it and verify that it's not the fan and whatnot but I'm currently snowed in with about two feet of snow heh.

So I'll keep popping in with updates but so far not too much has changed except that I think the entire house is experiencing a bad internet connection due to the snow.

Just an update: As I've been working pretty busily at a temporary job at the local Seafood place, I've had little time to work seriously on getting WoW back up and running. However, Within the next week or two I'm going to try to have my friend come over to help reformat my computer to see if any of that works. I've also been informed by him that he could probably build me a new computer for around $500-600 which I could hopefully do. So... Thanks for the patience and I hope to be playing and RPing with you all within the month.

Assuming you have a mouse/keyboard/monitor already you can get everything else for 596 + shipping and tax. Less, now, with post Christmas sales and the inevitable drop in prices.

I came into this article rather late.

As for the 1 gig of ram, I'd bet that a likely culprit.  I built a box for my friend back when BC came out, loaded it with dual 7800s in SLi, 1 gig of ram,  XP and a hand-me down processor and mobo I pulled from my box when I built a new one for myself.  It was sufficient for BC, but when Wrath came to town, it took that box to its knees.  He complained of a huge performance hit and was completely frustrated.

I threw a 8800gts in there and it was still suffering so I tossed in a second gig of ram and we immediately returned to the realm of actually playability.

Heya guys, I'm still around but sorry for not updating this recently. School has been keeping me VERY busy.


I've still got some money but I hit a couple snags with some parental people haha. I'm trying to work it out and I'm trying to see what I can do with what I've got.
