As I have walked among the Grim for many cycles now I believe I truly understand the meaning of the Mandate Peace through Annihilation.

Our very survival depends on having the upper hand on our enemies. Just as weeds will continue to spread unless every last root is pulled, so must every enemy of the Horde be eliminated lest our enemies overrun us. There seems to never be an end to the threats attempting to annihilate us.

I may have been a naive young elf to think that our conquest over the Lich King would bring lasting peace to our lands. The Scourge took many of my closest brothers, leaving me depressed and with a growing anger. After many years of wandering without purpose I happened upon several Grim engaged in mortal combat against magical stone statues brought to life in the summits of Pandaria. After defeating these creatures we drove deeper into the Vaults destroying everything in our path. By the end of this conquest I realized that there are still many undiscovered threats to our existence and that our best chance for survival is to aggressively seek them out and destroy them in their entirety.

I found a common bond with many Grim in our struggles on Kun-Lai. We were not fighting for our lives, but hunting Mogu so that our Brothers and Sisters in Azeroth who know nothing of these dangers may not only live, but be free; free of the shackles our fathers wore, free from worry about their next meal, free to live as they wish.

And it is as I have fought alongside many brave Grim, continually facing new and ever more dangerous threats to our survival that I realize this truth.

There is no peace, but through complete annihilation.

Faithfully yours,
Astriana
