Trial of Resolve - First Interview
((I have sat down with a handful of Grim members and learned about them, about their past, and gotten to know them.
I will now recant what I have learned about each individual, in my own words, sharing with you a little about their past before they where Grim, and who they are now, as Grim, and what the Mandate means to them, and what I have learned from them about the Mandate myself.))
Anaie the Insane
Undead Female Rogue

Anaie was already waiting for me and greeted me as I walked towards the slightly hunched over Forsaken Rogue. We met on the very top of the Shrine of Two Moons, the sun above us was on its way towards slumber for the night, but still warmed our backs as we began our conversation.

For bearing the title of "the Insane", Anaie was actually surprising sane and stable, from what I could see, and answered any of my questions with enthusiasm. She started by telling me a little about her past as a Human, and the events that led to her death and eventual rising as a Forsaken...

Human Past-
Anaie had a surrogate father as a child, who taught her many things, among them, cooking, hunting, skinning, and several other survival related skills, as well as how to properly sail on the open seas. All of which would come in handy later on in life and unlife. Anaie learned she had a blood sister from her father, and when of age, she choose to leave home in search of her sister, Syreena.

She tried several avenues of adventure to help in the search for her sister, the first of which was joining the Scarlet Crusade, hoping they would be able to help, or that she would at least learn more of her. She even fell in love while a Scarlet, but not for very long, she quickly found that the Scarlet Crusaders where actually holding her sister prisoner. Angered, Anaie fought and freed her sister with a quickly devised break out plan, and was captured in the process. But her sister did manage to escape to safety, although she was unable to return the favor, the Scarlet Crusade killed Anaie soon after being captured for her betrayal.

In Undeath-
Anaie was reborn undead, but is unclear as to how much time past. She willingly joined up with the Lich King and his armies shortly after, for the Lich King whispered to her, that he would help her find her long lost sister if she did. But this was a foul trick, and was put under the Lich King's spell after accepting. Anaie was driven into a mad and slurred state, and could barely even control her own body and thoughts. She has no recollection of the terrible things she may have done while a servant of the Lich King, nor does she want any.

After dealing with the torment for some time, Anaie was able to finally break free from the spell during a weak moment in the Lich King's mental power. She wandered for a while after breaking the Lich King's hold on her, lost, weak, and confused. After regaining her strength and adventuring for a while, she came upon a rogue, who was recruiting for a guild, The Grim, and Anaie was finally reunited with her long lost sister, Syreena, who was undead as well. She joined her sister in the Ranks of the Grim, and they haven't been separated since.

As Grim-
As a Champion of the Grim, Anaie focuses on destroying worldly threats to the Grim, but will still vanquish any Alliance who threaten as well. She is a fierce rogue and is definitely not to be trifled with. She also loves weapons, particularly some of the very fine blades she has acquired in her travels.

Anaie is Grim to the bone, through and through. She is an embodiment of the Mandate, and is thus never afraid to kill for the Grim.

And believes that true peace will come from the annihilation of both worldly threats and the Alliance. But I do think she would still do absolutely anything for her sister Syreena, even above the Mandate.

--
We said our goodbyes and parted ways as the sun was nearly set. I've learned much about this new friend and fellow Grim.

I learned from Anaie that the Mandate must be served, but Family is important. Balance must be found to both serve the Mandate and care for loved ones.
