My dear Inquisitor, do excuse my reports, but I am a creature of Science! This.... emotional attachment business is difficult, but I shall do my best.
Khorvis
I begin with his Largeness, the one I have come to know as Khorvis. This “noble” creature takes from the Mandate what I expected that he would, and the savage brutishness he displays did not disappoint.
I asked the Orc to meet me somewhere where he might feel the most relaxed, and while it took the Orc some time, we finally met at Gallywix's Pleasure Palace.
It was a great place for him: There were many explosive things, plenty of alcohol and grass for him to drink and eat. The meeting went well on all accounts, and I am pleased.
It seems he was bred to destroy unfriendly things, and he has spoken of being a creature born into battle, even quoting that I should “Suckle at the teat of war, and know the cold breast of a harsh mother as he had.” …..she most of been a lovely hideous woman.
Although I do not hope for his mental capabilities; upon observation, his physical capabilities though are quite extraordinary.
We did not speak much of his past to me, but I believe he wishes to keep it that way. Whether it be shame or embarrassment, the Orc need not worry for either reason.
He has been a good companion in the war with the Alliance, and I can think of no nobler creature to begin my report with.
Araun
When meeting with Araun I chose a more isolated place. High above the rocks in Orgrimmar we met, and the privacy was much welcomed.
The amount of control Araun displayed was very impressive. While his tale was depressing at points, the Mandate cured all of those woes in the end....almost enlightening, I shall make a note of that.
When the elf-creature first entered the Grim he spoke of serving false masters, those who wished to mold the Grim into their personal uses rather than serve the greatness of all. When he finally escaped his “former masters,” he spent a year in hiding, only to return to the Grim when he found his freedom.
This speaks very kindly if the Mandate, scientifically or otherwise.
I did inquire as to what he had given in his last trial, only to be swiftly reminded of his long time spent within the Grim. It seems that such a trial was not necessary in the olden days of the Grim, which is understandable being the sacrifices most of the older members had purely “lived” through while upholding the mandate.
Anyways, pleasantries were shared and Araun had left me to my next interview.
Syreena
The first thing the energetic rogue expressed was throwing a snowball at my face....she will pay, but that is for another time.
The rogue showed to be the pure lust for murder that I expected a few would take from the mandate. Slaughtering the alliance in mass amounts seems the dream she has taken from our order, and I am pleased with her decision to do so.
The interview went swimmingly until my mindset took over. Up until now I was able to keep these interviews purely academic, but the rogue was very persistent that I add an emotional attachment.
I tried my best to comply, but all I could muster were simple questions about their former lives; and apparently it worked.
She spoke of the strange coincidence of her death. Captured for stealing and imprisoned in her home of Andorhol, then catching a sort of sickness and ultimately dying. The strange part is this pleased her, even causing pleasure from the fact that her undeath could be spent murdering others.
She mentioned that being dead did not change her mindset: she was a murderous creature before and after death, but her last words made the most sense out of all these interviews. When I asked if she could take back the sickness and live an actual life she responded simply “If I did not catch the plague and die, I would not be Grim.”
Greebo
“Time. Force. Chance,”
These were the reasons Greebo gave to explain his position within the Grim.
He explained that it was not because of his size that he was the leader of the Grim, for we are not simply Garrosh, and do not just carry the largest stick, (this was my understanding.)
He began to realize the simplicity of my questions and spoke in a simple manner, just as I often do to Khorvis.
The Mandate was created as a means to an end with the Alliance, but not simply through brute force. It would be a timely process, and one that would require much patience and time if it were to succeed.
He even asked me to merely run into Stormwind and see what is accomplished, but to hand over my tabard, lest it be covered in my own innards as I failed the attack miserably. He wishes to see the Alliance so confused by our attacks that when they are on the brink of destruction, they wouldn't even be aware the attacks began.
I was pleased that this was my last interview because Greebo spoke with the confidence he should rightfully display.
Cristok
Sadly I did not learn as much as I had hoped of the one called Cristok.
From what I have gathered, the Druid mended those in need during his time within the Grim, and earned an impressive reputation in the process. He even created something called “Cristok's Challenge,” an interesting gathering to teach the Horde the fine art of slaughtering Alliance.
I have been to a similar event with Khorvis as we learned to destroy the alliance with our bare-fists, and perhaps this was where it all began. If he is the reason we fight so well together then I have chosen well to learn of him.
This is where his success ends though. His skill at fending of the alliance was matched by few, but his follies with the scourge is where he had met his end. Neither Araun or Syreena could indulge me further into the specifics of his demise, but I shall seek them out myself.
It was a shame that I could not meet Cristok, but those who remember him will do it seems.....shame.
In closing Inquisitor,
Those interviewed seems to share opposite views of the Mandate, but each IS Grim. From the wise to the blood-thirsty, to the just plain murderous, they are Grim.
It was not until speaking to Greebo that I learned what I required of the mandate, and I know now what must be sacrificed to become one with the Grim.
I hope this message satisfies you.
