The Haint

Awatu was alone in the guild hall. It was never unusual to find a High Inquisitor engulfed in paperwork. The hearth popped and snapped basking the large room in it's comfortable heat. The stillness of the late hour was apparent and the Tauren was growing sleepy in the warmth.
The guild door which had been rebuilt and changed many times over the years due to the rowdy denizens of The Grim croaked slowly. Awatu wasn't startled by the noise. It was common for members to come and go during strange hours. He turned and saw that the door had not even opened. Awatu furled his brow and returned to his paperwork. Lack of sleep. Surely.
Out of nowhere the clatter of equipment being dropped on the table caused the Tauren to jump with a start. Now he knew someone was playing games on him. Surely this is the work of the Twins he thought to himself. He stood up and looked around for the source of the sound but none was to be found. Awatu rubbed his temples and returned to his work.
Bryii awoke with a start and had a strong feeling that someone was with her. The room had dimmed during her nap due to the candles burning down low. The sun had fallen in Northrend and a rather cool breeze gusted through the open balcony door. She looked around to see if she could find the source of the feeling. The blood elf shook her head and leaned forward. Without thought she poured another glass.
When she brought the glass to her lips she stopped before taking a sip. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. The look on her face was one of shock as she noticed a hulking Orcish shadow drawn across the floor of her office that danced in the candle light. She kicked backward in her chair and threw the contents of her wine glass where the figure should be standing...
The wine soared through the air and landed on the cussioned chair on the other side of the room. Bryii called on her holy powers of consecration and lit the entire room so bright that it would illuminate anyone in hiding. There was nothing. No hiding Orc, no shadow, just a chair with wine on it.
Bryii rubbed her forehead and decided that it was time to get some sleep.

Bryii was alone and indulging deeply in an excellent bottle of sweet red wine from Silvermoon. The smells of Dalaran wafted up from the streets and into her office. She had just finished an entry in her journal and was content to warming herself with the remainder of the bottle. She drained what was left in her glass and sat back with her eyes closed.Bryii awoke with a start and had a strong feeling that someone was with her.
