Taking the bait

Eternalnight sat in her small hut near Brightwater lake. She was annoyed. More annoyed than usual. She could hear the sounds from Brill...a town that use to be quiet, gloomy, and basically not a bother...was now filled with troops, townspeople, and races from the far ends of Azeroth.
She hated them. She just hated them all.
But she blocked the sound out a bit, and returned to her work on the table in her hut. She has a few books and some scrolls laid before her. The past months had been disappointing for her. First, the discredit at Dalaran for her prediction with Tirion. Then, the presence of the dragon Deathwing...which destroyed several locations where she was doing research. It had been a time to watch so much work disappear.
What she did have before her though, were a handful of books given to her. They represented what would have been years of work, even in the best of times. There were maps of the world before the first war, there were diary pages from Alonsus Faol himself, some taken as he was mentor to Uther.
So many pieces to the puzzles of the past...so many pieces of interest. All were given as a gift from a member of the Twilight order.
She remembered that meeting...the Orc had politely asked her for a moment of her time, forced the sack of books in her hands, and simply said "a mere gift for one that seeks knowledge, just as we do. If you wish more, wear this pin in the Valley of Strength on the third day of the Goblin calender, and we will contact you. We will ask very little from you, but something that is a valuable skill you have..."
The pin was a small brooch that was the shape of a crude hammer. Nothing ornate, but noticable...if you knew you were looking for it.
Eternalnight contimplated her situation. They would ask something of her. She would deny, or accept. She would receive more treasures of knowledge. Nothing ill would occur...she would either accept or deny...nothing ill could happen....
