Grim Journey

Unread post by Utina »

I have been passed to an elf. She seems to think much of herself. She introduces herself in the orc manner. She wishes all to know her deeds. They are impressive. I will not fault her. But she is no orc.

She has set tasks for me. One to gather knowledge of the arcane. For this I delved into Scholomance. I found many tomes of interest.

- Icecrown and the Frozen Throne
- Kel'Thuzad and the forming of the Scourge
- Kil'Jaeden and the Shadow Pact
- Rise of the Blood Elves
- Sangeras and the Betrayal
- The Birth of the Lich King
- The Founding of Quel'Thalas
- The Lich King Tiumphant
- The Old Gods and the Ordering of Azeroth
- The Scourge of Lordaeron
- The Seven Kingdoms

The dwellers of Scholomance did not want to share their knowledge. I convinced them.

The next task is less simple than it sounds. To find creatures, study and learn. Fortunately my father has done just this and kept extensive journals. Tracking most was easy - though some were displaced from the Shattering. I made notes in case my father returns.

I tracked and studied common sheep, squirrels and birds. Common but all part of natural world. The circle and blance allows us to survive and thrive. My father taught me this. His jounal is detailed. The dead priest is right. Even the smallest living thing has much to teach about survival. The chameleon is the rogue. The bear the warrior. The plants and herbs the healers.

Some creatures were more challenging to reach. The Borean Tundra is treacherous. The priestess does not expect my success. I will exceed expectations.

I have misunderstood the priestess' task. I thought I had done more than enough. Seems there is more. Not matter. I would have gotten to it eventually anyhow. Seems there were more tomes to be found.

First I traveled to Booty Bay of all places. There I found several texts. There I also met the goblin Shortcircuit. He has another name, though I do not remember it. The goblins with him called him this. It seemed a big joke. We drank. He amused me.

I traveled to Silvermoon for the first time. Bloodscream's fears seem founded. The waste of magic here is appauling. Levitating lamps, magical sweepers - the smallest chores maintained by magic. Why aren't these elves fat, they do nothing for themselves.

In Westfall the alliance have gathered their strength. I had heard there was little there. This was not so. A giant form of light breached the earth. I found the owner of the tome I sought lounging in the inn. She is no more. I took the book and slew a few alliance for good measure.

I flew over Thousand Needles. It is completely destroyed. Father was there, searching for a cure for mother, so he says. Leave it to an undead to so coldly give me the facts he is probably dead. It must be good to live, caring about nothing.

My last objective I found in Dalaran. The journey here was much easier than the one I took looking for frogs. I hear there are more tomes inthe city, more difficult to find. I will stay here for a bit and search for them. Until then I will await my next task.
