(( Sharing the Fire--Weekly Story Contests ))
Posted: Tue Oct 27, 2009 1:04 am
The night is crisp, dry, and warm. Several Grim share a fire, the Seer Yichimet one of them, and he begins to talk as they rest from the day's battle, sharpening their weapons or picking meat from their teeth or staring at the stars.
"My people tell our stories to keep our memories alive," he says, and those who have heard him tell this before nod their heads. "In our tribes we remember back to the first days because our Sorcerers and Elders keep the stories alive. And so in this tribe, our tribe, the Grim, we will share our stories and keep our stories alive."
The Seer looks to the one on his left, a Grim who has worn the tabard for years, and to the Grim on his right who has worn the tabard for only days. "All of you have stories, and to keep the memories of this Grim Tribe alive, we will tell them to each other, and then tell them to others, until all the Horde knows our stories and our words are on the wind."

Here we will begin what I hope is a resurgence of activity on this board. I'll be holding weekly (and monthly, but more to come on that) story contests on the Gallows End Tavern board. I will be giving a theme, likely pulled from current guild activity, around which our members can write their tales. Contests will be posted on Sunday nights and will run for a full week, until the next contest is posted.
Prizes are four flasks of your choice/relevant to your main spec if I don't get a hold of you after the contest. I'll be the impartial judge, but once you win once during a month you'll be ineligible to win again (though I hope you still submit your stories!) until four weeks has passed.
Feel free to ask questions in this thread, if there are any!
Below I'll list the winners as they come.
