Conclusion - Chapter 1-1: A New Horde Offensive

Unread post by Durant »

"It has begun. I would consider our ordeal against the Alliance a smashing success this day."

"Considering our start with merely three full fists, I must say our coordination and execution went smoothly - above and beyond my expectations. We burned a multitude of Alliance settlements, and we brought King Wrynn to his knees - as well as the humans 'Archbishop' and the Gnomish King Mekkatorque."

"My thanks go to everyone with their advice, and a specific few whom I have spoken with in person. I will begin preparations for chapter two of our expedition immediately."

"Peace through Annihilation, indeed."
Qabian

The Grim gathered in a darkened corner of Undercity's Rogue Quarter while the knight Durant issued his orders.

As the fighters dispersed, one group of three set their sights on Southshore.
"Who knows the end? What has risen may sink, and what has sunk may rise. Loathsomeness waits and dreams in the deep, and decay spreads over the tottering cities of men."

A tactic employed to throw a warlock spy off our trail.

Maleb faces Grim wrath.  Several times.

Why do you run, farmer?  There's no escape!

Just ask Captain Balkal.

The inn is ours.  So we brought out the drinks and set it and ourselves on fire.  For the Horde!

Not pictured: The ruin of the Flightmaster.  Several times.  The destruction of every Alliance soldier who dared to step into our town during our presence.  Stamping out the Alliance fire.  Several times.  Covering the ground about the fire with corpses of their midsummer celebrants.  The drunken obliteration of Refuge Pointe on the way to the gathering in Hammerfall.

((There is, of course, more, but I can't be the only one who hit Print Screen!  Or am I?))

((erm... my screenies will not be near as uniform as Q's~))
The SeaHorse Offensive begins.  Approaching their assigned target, Qabian, Balkal and Nymare chose to assault Southshore in a somewhat unconventional manner

Unsuspecting, Southshore waits.

Seeking to cut off all swift means of escape, the Flight Master was one of the first targets as the town began to burn from the inside out.

Uh, the lense was smudged -no!  MELTING!- from the inferno of the the holiday's celebrated element being unleashed through totem, magic, and hell.

And thus, Southshore, like so many other quiet alliance towns at that moment, ended in fire and smoke, just as Durant had commanded.

After brutally assaulting and bring down his King, the small band of Grim sought out the Archbishop Benedictus to confess their sin in the only way they know how.

"Well, Padre. I don't want to keep you up all night, so I'll just fill you in on the latest batch.  These here hands of mine, they got blood all over them"

And two elves vow to return.
