Marrgot's journals

Unread post by Marrgot »

((okay, time for a really long OOC intro. As soon as I made the character of Marrgot, I wanted to tell his story, and for most people to learn his backstory, through the many journals marrgot keeps. For this first try I've started with a 7-8 year old marrgot, who according to Khorvis and that other guy who's name I'm not even going to TRY and spell from memory, would have been trapped in a internment camp. This was kinda a problem for me because I never planned Marrgot's backstory to include that [thankfully it still works.] So yeah, i'm kinda looking for feedback on this. should I continue with Baby Marrgot and the internment camps, or should I move on to his later life? Oh yeah, characters will be mentonied here that are not in Marrgots bio because I haden't made them up yet. To the end I'm not really sure how to work with the internment camp thing, the first "entry" is kinda short. Also, one more time PLEASE LEAVE SOME FEEDBACK))

DAY 1

So… Grandpa said that I should start keeping a journal. Misha says that’s the same thing as a Diary which is a stupid girly thing, which to Misha is the same thing as saying she doesn't like it. Then grandpa said no, a Diary is when you write your life's story in a book, one entry at a time, but a journal is only for important thoughts and musings or for noting things you’ve experienced worth noting. I don’t know what “worth noting” means, but I’ve started this journal to write down important thoughts.

DAY 5
Mom and dad started arguing again. Dad was yelling about being in an internment camp and how horrid it was, but mom said it was to risky to try and escape. I think mom doesn't mind this place because one of the humans is training her to be a mage. Grandpa’s too old to work, so he sits and tells me and Misha stories. Misha doesn't listen usually, but I do. I think we can learn from the stories.

Anyway my important thought for today is that slavery isn’t so bad, because I don’t really know what not being a slave is like.

DAY 7
Dad started to teach me to fight, and he says i’m doing well. I don’t really like it though. Grandpa's way of fighting seems more fun. There’s lava and lightning and ice everywhere and grandpa just stands in the middle of it all, moving about as if he’s doing some kind of dance. I wanna learn to do that.

Misha’s enjoying learning to fight though. She says she imagines alliance heads instead of the melons we use to practice (the melons are supposed to go to the humans, so I probably shouldn’t write this. Dad told me not to.) She says it’s relaxing. I told her that “soothing” was probably what she meant, and she said she had no idea what that meant.

I wish I enjoyed learning to fight more.

DAY 13
Misha keeps talking about how much she hates the alliance. I don’t even really know what the alliance is. I think Misha’s parents tell her more things.

Maybe I should go talk to them.
DAY 17
So I talked to Misha’s parents. And they told me a lot my parents would not (or rather that my mom woulden’t let them tell me.) They told me all about the war, and how we won it, then we lost, then we wound up in these camps, and how we deserve better, and how stupid is the allaince won even though their weak. I wish I could find a book about this So I could learn more.

DAY 18.
I asked mom about the books, since she’s always carrying around a book that she’s borrowed. She says that there might be one, but she woulden’t be allowed to have it. I asked her to steal it for me, and she denied. Misha said I should go steal it myself, and she would help me. I agreed. Misha’s super exited, got us daggers and everything. I’m just working on a plan, like in the stories. I hope it’s good enough.
