Making sense of it all.

Unread post by Bloodscream »

It was an occurrence the likes of which he had never heard of or conceived.

Bloodscream scratches at his chin as he went over the data. The data did not lie.

It was the sort of thing only a complete idiot would try because only a complete idiot would play with something he did not understand when the stakes were this high. The result however had been quite unexpected and in the chaos of those cosmic reactionary forces, Bloodscream looked for hope.

He smiled to himself as the charts and projections danced before his eyes, courtesy of his goggles IYF* systems. He was crunching the latest results from his dimensional sweeps. This latest batch had focused on chronotronic emissions in the sub zero vale range, a seldom seen phenomena, barely detectable unless one knew how to regulate for quantum interference.

He ordered his systems to start crunching the numbers again, but he knew the results were valid. The alternate reality was stable. The portal between dimensions was not decaying as he had surmised. Now that many systems had been calibrated to cross between the worlds, the destruction of the Portal was irrelevant, hundreds of smaller threads now held everything in place.

Two alternate realities linked by a dimensional time vortex, unbelievable.

Hellscream had foolishly thought changing the past would rewrite history, erase us from the continuum of time and space. Reality however, is a little more resilient than that and if Hellscream had bothered to learn anything about dimensional physics, he might have guessed as much. Bloodscream assumed this had all been a mistake, an unforseen turn of events but still in his mind he left room that someone, somewhere, influenced the boy, moved him to their purpose.

Hellscream did not erase us, he instead forced the creation of an entire alternate reality to accomodate his new timeline and had he stopped there, he would have gone on living in his new shard of reality and we would have been rid of him. He did not however stop there, history, albeit alternate history, rolled on. The Dark Portal was completed, presumably Hellscream thought when he opened this portal it would take him to Azeroth, forcing the creation of yet more of this alternate reality but the Universe had other plans.

The portal formed but things were different now. The Aether around this newly birthed world was a violent bath of chronotronic particles for obvious reasons. The portal opened but soaked in the ambient time distortion the energies locked onto Hellscream's trail and fired back along it opening the portal instead in our reality, in our time.

"A trans-dimensional chronotronic rift..." Bloodscream muttered to himself.

Such a thing had never been heard of in any of the endless banks of Titan data he had accumulated over the years. The rift should have collapsed under it's own weight, the key to it's stability had to be commonality and the only thing these realities shared was Hellscream. Bloodscream projected that if Hellscream were killed, there was a 27% chance that the portal could collapse and the two realities would separate, hardly a actionable number.

Hellscream had however introduced himself into the timeline at an important point. He had prevented the Orcs from falling to corruption and for that Bloodscream would not fault him. Bloodscream did however blame him for everything that followed.

He had it, the dream, at his clumsy fingertips and he missed it.

Stop the corruption, slaughter the Shadow Council. Purge all warlocks and emissaries of the Legion while uniting the clans for war. Force the Draenei to reveal all they know of the enemy that chases them, forge an alliance. Ban all magic save shamanic and holy and create the greatest army every dreamed, the army that would crush the Burning Legion and forever put an end to their ways. Freeing up the Twisting Nether for brave explorers to adapt and enhance the Draenei's dimensional craft design and launch the Horde into the Nether, in search of other worlds, other adventures.

Bloodscream had had that dream more times than he could count.

Bloodscream throught perhaps it was not too late, he could still metaphorically speaking, pull the world out of the fire Hellscream had carelessly dropped it in. Maybe throw some dirt on there, put out the flames, see what could be salvaged. His home for the moment, was still intact but war and The Legion were coming.

"Time enough..." Bloodscream muttered as he gathered his things. There was a lot of work to do.
