(( Excellent. Although my understanding is that cats lack the ability to taste sweet. I eagerly await Malhavik's explanation for why he did not summon his brother felmancers for a little soul-surgery. Also I would like 4 extra days a week so that Tarumah and Brast can have some serious discussions about just who hates night elves more. Also also Awatu is a meanie-pants. ))

((
"Whether as a result of this dietary choice or the cause of it, all cats—lions, tigers and British longhairs, oh my—lack 247 base pairs of the amino acids that make up the DNA of the Tas1r2 gene. As a result, it does not code for the proper protein, it does not merit the name gene (only pseudogene), and it does not permit cats to taste sweets. "They don't taste sweet the way we do," says Joe Brand, biochemist and associate director at the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia. "They're lucky. Cats really have bad teeth as it is.""

Lilliana had not seen Brast for well over two months. Part of that had to do with loss of control on Lilliana’s part. The abduction with Morinth’s and the human female’s obsessive jealousy over something that didn’t even exist had taken the priestess away for far too long. Now that she has ‘returned’, she found herself quite keen to catch up with the Grim Supplicants left under her charge. Brast had not been seen since Syreena’s encounter with him at the river, and since that time no mention of the tauren (previously feline) had been noted as far as to Lilliana’s awareness. This would have to change.

She wanted him back. And she wanted to see this transformed creature. She had only ever thought of him as a cat. The idea of Brast the ‘person’, seemed out of reach for her. She had never been able to communicate well with the feline, that realm was left for hunters and other druids. To top that off, her ending interactions with the feline had been harsh and cold, without patience for his inability to fight against Accacia’s curse when her own exhaustion had overshadowed her usual ‘good nature’. She felt regret over that, for it was her that directed him to speak with Malhavik for his second trial. She knew that she should have taken more care in dishing out that assignment.

The priestess had heard from Cobrak and Ruuki about their encounter with the Brast that was now a tauren. She heard of the story that lead to his near permanent feline form. It touched her heart in a way, hearing how his parents had fought for his survival, resulting in their own peril. That was something she could relate to, at least from the parent side of things. Her curiosity was so peeked that she even traveled to find the pictures Brast had illustrated on the rock to show his history. That’s where she stopped first.

She thought she knew the river where Syreena had last seen Brast. Although Lilliana was no tracker, not by a long shot, she started out there with her ancient horse carrying her across the land. A few times she attempted to reach out to Brast’s mind, as priests often do, but she had never touched the feline’s mind before, and Brast’s mind as a tauren would have been something completely foreign to her. Lilliana would have to do this the old fashioned way and find him herself! Priests are fairly impressive with their magic, but they are not all omnipotent, and Brast was something of an anomaly.

There was no way for the priestess to know about Brast’s struggles with himself, his urge to return to the cat and forfeit his return to what he once was so that he could simply have time without ‘thought’. She had no idea how she would find him, or if she would even have a chance of finding him at all. She took no one with her, simply charging forth on the hope of luck.
